camera without HDR in moto G5 plus - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my device. After blinking many different ROMs between 7.1.2 and 8.1.0, I noticed a big difference in my camera when coming back to the ROM stock, it's like there was no more HDR feature, photos when they need to be taken in bright environments are left with spots of light, as well as Oreo cameras that do not yet have quality. What can I do to fix this? I have another G5 + in which I just install ROMs 7.1.2 and compare the camera with my current camera and realize the big difference. Thank you!:confuso:

camera comparison, discussion

Hey guys,
This thread should be for comparison and discussion about our cam from kenzo and cams from other devices. As our sensor is industry's first 1.0micron-pixel-based 16 megapixel (Mp) CMOS image sensor, it would be very interesting to compare the real world potential and quality of our cam. Also it would be interesting, if the cam takes better pictures with less mp. As I only own a nexus 4 and a rn3pro I can't make a comparison between this to, because the nexus 4 is like nearly 4 years old .
Please only post pictures in full resolution and without any filters! Also for comparison it would be helpful to make the exact same picutures with the same focus point etc.
All my phones have a bad cam^^ Does someone have the kenzo and another phone with a nice cam? Especially in low light conditions the difference between the cams should be bigger than with good light conditions.
Camera is quite good for me i have the omida sensors but the must is the hdr algorithm included in snapdragon camera, it ligntens everything without burning any detail

is the camera worse on any of non miui roms like cm13, aosp, aokp etc? With other phones I've used the custom roms usually had much worse cameras

OnePlus 3T vs LeEco Le Pro 3 Camera comparison - Why there is huge difference?

Hi guys. I ordered yesterday X720 variant (4GB/32GB gold) from banggod under flash sale (cost me 192 USD) and I cannot wait it to be delivered to me..
So after that, I started some re-search, especially regarding the camera performance and I found out that Le Pro3 actually has ALMOST the same camera sensor like OnePlus 3T, apart from OIS?
OnePlus 3T has a 16MP Type 1/2.8" Sony IMX298 sensor with f/2.0 aperture lens which is the same (correct me if I am wrong) in Le Pro 3. But OnePlus 3T takes really good and better photos in any environment(good light or low light) if to be compared to LePro 3...
So, can we say that OIS and maybe better rom/software in OP3T makes the difference or what? Or LePro 3 has a potential to takes better photos with some custom ported roms or ported camera apps and come closer to quality of OP3T?
I am sorry, if this or a similar thing had already been talked before here. It will be great to hear your comments and opinions.
Have a nice day/week for all!
If you are running it on Stock ROM, try Google Camera 2.7.10 via https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/camera/camera-2-7-010-release/
Le Pro 3 has even better IQ than iPhone 7 just so you know. =D
If custom ROM and especially nougat-based, there is a patched version of latest Google Camera with HDR+ enabled.
When it comes to mobile cameras, it's almost always the imaging processing that makes or breaks a photo quality.
OP3/T does share same hardware specs of the camera lens and sensors with the exception of OIS, but it is the software itself that determines how an image is to be processed.
Samsung, LG, HTC, Apple basically spends a lot of their R&D budget on the imaging software, because camera qualities are synonymous with quality of the phone.
OnePlus did spend fairly large amount of development into their camera software, and it is very good. OiS helps, of course, but image quality itself is determined via software.
When you're using Google Camera, the game changes, however. Since Google Camera does not use OiS even if you have it, it won't be an advantage with OP3/T. Theoretically, the image when using two identical camera app would be very very similar.

So far 2.7.01 is the only one that works on Stock ROM.

Installing Google pixel 2 camera software and algorithm in Moto G5 plus

Hi all,
The Moto G5 plus has a rear camera of f/1.7 with 12 MP where as the best camera of Google pixel 2 has f/1.8 with 12.2 MP.
My question is it possible to install the Google AI software, algorithm and coding in the Moto G5 plus? If possible, how? If not, then, what will be the best camera app to use in Moto G5 plus? As the specs are pretty same but the coding, algorithm and software difference is a big deal. May be with the same camera of the G5 plus will take excellent photos using the Google AI software.
May be Im asking question like a fool but because I wanted too know.
In the comparing videos and reviews between Pixel 2 and galaxy S9 I have understood that the google camera software is a special one. With the google algorithm a smartphone may not need two cameras and lower aperture too. The lower aperture of f/2.4 with 8 MB of Pixel 2 does not stop taking best shots than any other phones because of the software. Where as the Moto G5 front camera has f/2.2 with 5 MB. But there are other factors like shutter speed, dual pixel etc. but I want to install the camera app in Pixel into G5 plus.
Can not post the links of specs as Im as new member.
Just install pixel ported camera app by arnova to get better photos nd portrait photos from your moto g5 plus.
First you need to flash a 64bit rom
Because google camera doesnt work on 32bit
And install google camera the ported one by arnova or other version.

Proposal to solve the problem of the camera in Oreo ROMs

I just have an idea. And I want to post it here and find if it is possible.
I understand that Moto Z Play has the same camera lens as the Moto G4 Plus.
They have a rear camera OmniVision OV16860, and a front camera OminVision OV5693.
With that said, they share the same hardware in terms of camera.
Is there any way to port the Oreo camera drivers from the Moto Z Play to our devices?
Anybody has tried this?
Thanks.
From the many posts I've read in the forum, the camera issue is connected to our chipset and not the camera hardware. The snapdragon 617 is a pretty sh*tty chipset and all the devices that use them have pretty much zero development and vendor support. I guess those guys are all waiting for athene to get Oreo. Guess we're out of luck. BTW correct me if I'm wrong. At least this'll serve as a bump to this thread.
I Found the perfect combination for a smoth Pie Rom with a totally fast an functionally camera (photos and video) no lag and instant functionally gestures (even instant Chop chop for flash light!)
I am so happy about it!
Since I installed Oreo ROMs I was suffering cause I couldn't use the camera properly and some other functions of my Moto g4+.
I had read that because Qualcomm 617 chipset has very little attention from official developers then the camera shows incompatibilitys and then works wrong in custom ROMs (even in stock rom soak 8.1)
In January 14th they published AOSIP (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo.../rom-android-source-illusion-project-t3889942)
In combination of this great Rom and a zip I found to flash in TWRP of Moto camera 2 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/themes/pixel-gapps-rom-t3731231 - find the Moto camera 2 download link) I accomplished what I was trying since I installed Oreo in my device...
This camera probably works in any arm64 Rom... But I love AOSIP so far and that's what I have Install to experiment with the camera zip)
Off course the world isn't perfect so I can't paste url Chrome links in lawnchair (AOSIP it's probably based in some Rom with that problem... Some of then have it and some of them not) but I can live without it for today.
So if you're frustrated because the camera issue of Moto g4 plus... This solve it!
Asus Camera port is also useful. No green images!

Best gcam version and settings.

Hello was wondering what gcam you are using on the Moto g5 plus? I'm on a a custom oreo ROM, pixel experience to be precise. I've had done luck with the urikill apk, but it crashes alot, especially when trying to take a picture with little light. What else is there and what works best, I've Googled this multiple times over the last few months and have not got much info about what the best gcam mod is.
