How to root Zuk edge Oreo. - Lenovo Zuk Edge Questions & Answers

Hi. Friends.
How to root Zuk edge Oreo(Zui 3.5.265).
I have tried to twrp(3.2.1.0) do not support.

I did it flashing magisk by sideload (using a PC)
Enter TWRP, go to advanced -> sideload and start it
Then in a windows console:
adb sideload magisk.zip

I temporarily flashed twrp(fastboot reboot twrp.img),flashed SuperSU then rebooted with root and stock recovery. I installed Flashfire opened it and wiped cache/dalvik added SuperSU zip(stored on OTG as my twrp cannot read system storage) and flashed. Worked ok

You may try to use Magisk

[Guide] How to install Magisk 15.2 on kenzo (if having issues)

If you are updating Magisk from 14 and are getting Magisk not installed error then this is what you will need to do,
Note you will probably have to start with a new clean Magisk install.
Only tested with Global Beta MIUI9
1. The main problem is caused by using a old TWRP (for example ZCX), so you will need to update to a more recent TWRP. - After you updated your TWRP follow these steps.
2. Flash the Magisk Uninstaller, if it says "Magisk Not installed" then go to Step 3 otherwise skip to Step 4.
3. Flash Magisk 14.0 after it completes , Re-Flash the Magisk Uninstaller to cleanup all OLD Magisk files.
4. reboot to system, make sure the Magisk Manger is gone, then reboot to recovery again.
5. Flash Magisk 15.2 , reboot, install the Magisk Manager if it's missing.
6. Under settings -> apps -> Magisk Manger, set allow on startup, allow storage permissions, and No Rstrictions for MIUI Battery Saver.
and you should have a fully working Magisk 15.2 now, I suggest rebooting once more to recovery and clearing Dalvik Cache. (Note Clear Dalvik Cache is in the Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> then only check Dalvik /ART Cache partition, do not select anything else!)
Do all modifications at own risk or devices risk.
nop this did not worked for me on miui 8 global stable redmi note 3 kenzo only magisk 14 works when i try flashing 15.2 it result in bootloop m using latest official twrp 3.2.1.0
Not working. it's still not installed for me. I am using the official TWRP 3.2.1.0
OK I will try looking into it some more, after the latest MIUI9 update same thing happened even with newest twrp, said not installed, but after I rebooted and tried flashing 15.2 again it installed, so very odd why sometimes it works and other times not.

Bootloops after flashing Magisk OOS 5.0.2

I've been getting bootloops after installing Magisk on my OnePlus 5 unlocked bootloader , rooted before at 4.5.15.
I directly updated it to 5.0.2 which resulted in many errors in the end had to flash it completely and then clean install the ROM .
The ROM works perfectly with almost no trouble.
I then flashed almost all Magisk versions I could get hold of (14.5,15.2,15.3,15.4(beta))
But none of them could get past the boot animation.
I've also flashed the no Verity mod file both before and after the flashing of Magisk nothing worked.
But everytime after all this I flash the Magisk uninstaller and I get easily get back to using the device but without root.
Anyone help me rooting this ?
The ROM has been downloaded from official OnePlus website and the twrp I'm using is the codeworkx version.
First do this then tell me how it went.
1. Boot to fastboot and flash twrp-3.2.1-0-universal-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img via command window, make sure you have adb installed on pc.
2. Then boot DIRECTLY to twrp.
3. Dirty flash OOS 5.0.2 over your current rom in twrp and then wipe dalvik and cache.
4. Then boot into fastboot DIRECTLY again and flash twrp-3.2.1-0-universal-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img again.
5. Boot into twrp directly and flash Magisk 15.2.zip
6. Finally boot into the system.
7. Optional: then you can go ahead and update Magisk via it's own flash tool.
I'm already on 5.0.2 so do I dirty flash it again?

Need help getting back root/magisk

I updated to 9.0.12 today and went to magisk app to reinstall and wasnt able to. So i rebooted and when it was all booted back up i didn't have magisk or root. I decided it was time for a permanent twrp so i loaded twrp. Img and installed the twrp installer. Booted back into twrp and flashed magisk 18.1.zip and rebooted. When it was back up i still didn't have magisk or root so i tried to install magisk apk and it fails to install.
I dont know what else to do to be rooted again. Any help would be great.
That's strange. I'm having a similar problem. I upped to OOS 9.0.12 on my rooted 6t by flashing the full rom, flashing TWRP, then rebooting to recovery and flashing Magisk 18.1 stable.
After rebooting it boots into the system, but after just a quick moment it says powering down and then reboots to TWRP. I tried a nandroid backup and the same issue keeps happing.
Flashing OSS 9.0.12 and TWRP again fixes the rebooting issue, but now I don't have root
did you "fastboot boot twrp img name" then install the Twrp installer to both slots ?

I had this issue yesterday too, where I loaded 9.0.12 and TWRP, rebooted to recovery, loaded Magisk and then the phone would automagically shutdown after boot.
TL;DR; an issue with a magisk module misbehaving.
After some research, this is what worked for me:
Download the latest version of Magisk and the Magisk uninstaller from the Magisk thread. Reboot to recovery, and then zip install Magisk, but don't reboot. Immediately after, run the Magisk uninstaller. This should clear any offending modules. After that, you can reboot back into recovery and install Magisk normally. You'll need to reload your modules, though.

The best way to take the update is download the full ROM and let the factory installer do the update via local install.
You lose root and TWRP, but that happens anyway.
I typically install, reboot, install.
This forces the OS to be the same in both a and b.
Then I go through the process of TWRP, etc.
after what i mostly do:
in fastboot boot to twrp,
install full rom,
install twrp,
reboot to twrp,
install magisk,
reboot to system
aaand it shut down on me ;(
in twrp i had to:
uninstall magisk (with the magisk uninstaller)
install magisk
almost done (reboot to system)
reinstall your magisk modules (they will be gone thanks to the unistaller, so know what you have magisked)
luckily it was that simple
So to avoid it al together:
take note of your magisk modules
fastboot to twrp,
install full rom,
install twrp,
reboot to twrp,
uninstall magisk,
install magisk,
reboot,
done!

Cannot root after 9.0.17 update

I just updated to 9.0.17 and got unrooted and twrp removed as usual. So i installed twrp then did a restart then i tried to install magisk zip from twrp like every time i do after updating but this time when i installed magisk and did a restart my phone after opening in a second its says powering off and took me back to twrp i tried to restart again but it happens same everytime so i removed magisk now it works fine but not rooted.
I don't know why it's happening it never happened before. I wanted to root mh phone but couldn't do it. Please help.
I had issues with magisk 19.3 but no issues flashing 19.4. I suggest installing twrp again then boot to recovery and install magisk.

Just now i tried 19.4 but after opening it again power off i don't know why it's happening
I also mistakenly installed twrp img file in recovery ramdisk is this related to it?
Did you uninstall magisk before updating. I'd try this.
1. Run magisk uninstaller zip
2. Reflash 9.017
3. Install twrp zip
4. Reboot to twrp
5. Install magisk

happened here too, had to run magisk uninstaller zip plus , weridly after flashing twrp i was not able to boot into twrp again , boot into recovery was taking me to official oneplus recovery , that went away after flashing twrp and the ram disk after that i was able to boot again into twrp.
The same problem. I've done this. The device reboot successfully the first time. After that when I reboot it always stucked on fastboot. Only if I clean the Magisk I will reboot successfully.

Problems with MIUI v11.0.4 and TWRP/Magisk

Hello,
I have MI 9T. I unlocked it and tried to get TWRP and Magisk installed and ran into issues.
I tried TWRP 3.3.1-0-davinci and Magisk v20.4, both official.
If I flash v11.0.4.0 ROM (I tried both global or EU versions, QFJMIXM and QFJEUXM), and then install TWRP and Magisk, phone goes into bootloop and then back to TWRP. After that I am not able to boot system at all, and end up going into fastboot and reflashing official ROM.
I tried flashing v10.3.15.0 PFJEUXM (EU) version. TWRP and Magisk work perfectly fine on that one.
Then I tried upgrading to v11.0.3 version (I think the hash was PFJEUXM but I'm not certain) from system settings, it works perfectly fine with TWRP and Magisk too.
If I then try upgrading to v11.0.4.0 it all goes wrong. TWRP/Magisk get wiped (that's usual), but if I reinstall them- bootloop again and unable to boot system.
I'll keep using v11.0.3 for now, but it would be nice if TWRP/Magisk get fixed to support v11.0.4. Until that happens I think it would be wise to avoid upgrading to v11.0.4 if you have TWRP and Magisk.
P.S. I never set any passwords or authentication anywhere.

There are two other threads about installing Magisk (without using TWRP).
However, TWRP (official or OrangeFox) can be also installed (independently of Magisk, e.g. I did once I already had Magisk).
And everything works perfect for QFJEUXM 11.0.4.0 - responding from my Mi 9T with both
Can you enumerate exactly which steps you took and which options you selected?
For me it was:
* Boot into Fastboot.
* Fastboot flash original MIUI ROM
* (Boot the system). I tried skipping this step, didn't make a difference.
* Reboot into Fastboot
* Fastboot flash TWRP.
* Reboot into TWRP.
* Reboot into TWRP again. TWRP asks to install itself before reboot. Allow TWRP to install itself.
* Copy Magisk to mobile USING MTP while in TWRP recovery.
* Install Magisk.zip. Wipe cache and dalvik.
* Reboot into system.
* FAIL.
Maybe I had to set a password somewhere or decrypt/mount something in one of the steps or something? Or did you install something extra like dm-verity disabler or something? I tried installing dm-verity disabler after TWRP but that just sent my phone into bootloop immediately.

I didn't need to install 11.0.4.0 - I had it by OTA
Install Magisk as described in the threads you can find here on XDA (Easiest way to install Magisk without TWRP, title was something like that), basically:
- start from stock QFJEUXM 11.0.4.0
- extract boot image from recovery/zip package QFJEUXM 11.0.40 and copy to phone
- install Magisk Manager app and patch the extracted image (DM Verity and Enforce encryption must be On, Recovery option Off)
- copy the patched image to PC and flash by Fastboot to boot partition
- reboot to system and you are rooted, enjoy Magisk
Flash the official TWRP, boot to, enter your Android unlock pin/pass but
do not format Data or anything - enjoy TWRP.
From TWRP you can flash OrangeFox recovery if you like it (you can always flash back TWRP if you wish) - it also supports Android pin/pass for the read/write access to Internal memory
You don't need to extract and patch yourself the boot image, you can find the patched boot image on my Mega (and the corresponding Magisk Manager Canary apk), as well as TWRP: https://mega.nz/#F!hllnSIpA!amAG8moMYW_tG8r731Tzgg
Thanks for your help.
I tried the thing with Magisk Manager & boot image file, and it worked. I can live with stock recovery for now. I just needed root.
You saved me quite a bit of hassle. Thanks again.
