Keep getting a "Nice, new phone" notification from Google Play Services - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This started happening when my phone updated to Android 8.0 back when that first came out. Every so often I get a notification from Google Play Services that says the following: -
"Nice, new phone. Get the most out of it with these Google apps."
Then underneath that it says "GET GOOGLE RECOMMENDED APPS" in all caps and if I click on that it opens a Google website telling me about various Google apps, except they are apps that are already installed like Maps and Photos.
Any idea how I can stop this notification from repeatedly popping up? It's kinda annoying.
Thanks!

[Q] Apps Autoupdate Stopped Updating

Stock, non-rooted GN3. Verizon. Stock launcher. 4.4.2.
I've noticed in the last week or so, possibly more, that even though I have "Auto-update Apps on WiFi only" enabled, as I have since getting the phone last fall, it no longer Auto-updates at all.
I can open the Play Store, go to 'My Apps' and there is a list of Apps there waiting to be updated.
The only change I've made, which was made at least a month ago, and which I'm fairly sure predates this behavior, was to stop Google Search from autoupdating by unchecking the appropriate box. (It created some problems with my Bluetooth devices, taking over response away from S-Voice which I preferred, and some other issues).
My WiFi connection is solid.
I've turned off (through the usual methods) a small number of apps (Audible, Caller Name ID, Group Play, Isis Mobile Wallet, NFL Mobile, S Health, Slacker, Voice Mail).
Any idea what is causing this behavior, and how I can fix it?
(As a secondary item, it seems I can no longer access the option to enable or disable auto-update for an individual app - has this been moved or changed? I go to the App in the play store, and nothing happens when I hit the menu button at the bottom left, which is where I thought I remembered accessing that option before.)
Well, I found the answer at Android Central. Went to Google Play Store in Applications in settings, and cleared Cache and Data. Restarted the Play Store App, and everything returned to normal.
Not sure what happened to the Play Store App itself, but something had gone awry there, and the data/cache clear reset it.
Mystery solved.

Urgent: Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped.

Hello,
Whenever I am switching on my Location service/GPS to high accuracy mode, I am getting this popup which says "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped." And also the GPS is not working either. I am not being able to locate myself on the map. Since I have my exams starting next week and I use Ola/Uber to travel it is really essential for me to have this issue solved at the erarliest.
Please see, recently I also got this message "Unfortunately, CM logger has stopped." Although the CM logger message is not recurring the Google Play Service is a recurring error which keeps pn popping every 5 seconds. It is so irritating. Need a solution at the earliest.

you must have either flashed a custom rom over your current build or must be flashing kernel or so and since then this problem would have come up.... There is a temporary solution to it and then there is a permanent one.
Temporary : Uninstall google play services updates. If uninstall option does not become available then go to security, disable android locator or something like that in administrator options etc.. It is somewhere around in security. You will have to look a bit. Once you deactivate that you will be able to uninstall updates of google play services. Clean data of it. Reboot. Once you reboot, your phone will say some apps require google play services to run. Click on that notification and update Google Play Services.
The termporary solution may or may not work.... It sometimes worked for me but recently has not been working.
Permanent solution, take backup of your data and get back to all stock and before you have setup everything on your phone, flash kernel and reboot. If you are not facing the problem again, then resetup....
Remember, if you take backup of data, and after clean install, try to restore the data, the problem would return with greater magnitudes....
Hope I helped
All the best for your exams....
First clear data of google play services and the apps which stops automatically ....Go to settings>apps>all apps>google play services and clear data.......If this not solves ur problem ..then factory reset

Google Apps not working properly after Android update

Hi,
I own a LG G2, non rooted, updated my phone through LG PC Suite, from Android 4.4 to 5.02.
The new version, 5.02, has been causing a lot of problems with the google apps.
1) Got message about updating google services when I already had the latest version
FIX: Uninstalled all updates on Play, G+, Gmail and Services, cleared cache and installed them again, stopped receiving the message about update.
2) G+ freezes after some clicking around , loads forever and android system ask if I want to wait or close the app.
3) In-game purchases along with the settings for payment method in Google Play does not work anymore. I tried to remove the payment methods and add them again. When I want to press "OK" button to accept the credit card number or PayPal account the screen just loads and nothing happens, even after several hours.
The new update for my phone seems to have some serious problem with the Google Apps.
Can anyone help me?
Kind regards
Abotiz

Google Play services Beta

Today for some reason I keep getting notifications to update play services.
I've been registered and using play services beta for a long time but today it keeps giving me won't work unless update notifications , already updated though.
I even tried uninstalling updates still keeps popping up though.
How do you fix this ?
Did you try and go into secure folder and update Google Play there? I've had that issue where it kept popping and i finally found a side blurb about the the secured version needing updating
