Hello
Was running lineage 14.1 OS (moto X play) and flashed stock 6.0.1 image. Didn't flash gpt or bootloader files because downgrading from 7.1.2 to 6.0.2. but after flashing remaining and successfully booting into 6.0.1, I am unable to bypass the Google prompt to sign in (this device has been reset - sign in with an account used previously on this device). I am the original and only owner - if I flash back LOS 14.1, then I can go through the setup just fine and bypass Google sign in or sign in with a new account.
I suspect the downgrade has old Google play services or something related. Not sure how to work around that.
I can't find a more recent version of stock firmware for Canada than the 6.0.1 to get newer files
Can I flash an "stock firmware" 7.1 ROM as an alternative?
Any ideas

Okay, so i flashed the stock firmware (flash all but storage) that I found on xiaomifirmware.com (September security patch) onto my phone. I did this because I rooted my device previously and installed TWRP but I was unable to install OTA updates and so I decided to revert back.
In the process, I somehow ended up soft bricking my phone and that's why I had to flash the stock firmware via fastboot.
The problem is, ever since then, my device shows up as unverified on Google Play. My OEM is locked and all settings were set to stock.
Furthermore, when I decided to root it again using Magisk, I was unable to pass SafetyNet, regardless of however much I tried any of the solutions found via Google search.
So how do I fix this?
Same issue with Play Store! even I flashed Rom using FastBoot. got into bootloop because of Substratum Theme engine. The factory version of Play Store shows Device Certified but after It gets updated, it shows uncertified!
I have an xt1575, and I'm sure many here have seen such issues before, where lineageos is stuck at the boot animation.
I flashed latest TWRP (3.2.1 or something like that) and started flashing the four listed lineageos roms on their website and opengapps arm64 micro, or aroma, or breansgapps.
I read somewhere that the mxpe won't work for flashing if I recieved and took the ota for 7.0 (which I did)
When I tried to flash back to stock, gpt.bin and NON-HLOS and one other file gave me the preflash verification failed error.
Nonetheless my phone works now (stock 7.0)
However, I recieved the ota update 25.201.1 (which just went to android error while trying to update)
How do I get lnos on my phone (or any nonstock rom, preferably oreo) ?
Thanks!

I took the 7.0 Stock Nougat update ota and you can flash roms, maybe not CM. https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/general/custom-roms-nougat-modem-t3733105 These work with stock Nougat Modem. There are some top notch work in that post.
So I'm currently running Lineage OS, but for some reason I can't play FGO while using Magisk. Even though the game works normally, and Magisk should support it on the Canary build now, it starts detecting Lineage OS when Magisk is activated, even when using Magisk Hide. So how would I go about switching back to Stock? The other thread with stock roms has dead Links.
Download the stock firmware and Flash it with fastboot use RSD Lite. Or one of the many posts on how to install Stock firmware on that model.
This is the site I've gotten firmware to update my E4 XT1768 - https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/perry/official/RETAIL/
I'm on a G5 Plus unlocked retus model XT1687 (I think). I was using Android 8.1 that came with the OTA update and decided to try a custom ROM.
So here is a list of most of my problems/f**kups:
Installed AEX based on 9, It bootlooped.
In the panic (first time messing with ROMs) accidentally deleted my backup.
Used this two guides to get out of the bootloop by fastbooting stock N firmware, it worked.
Flashed AEX again, this time It booted but It wasn't registering the fingerprint reader and I didn't have LTE and after and update It bootlooped again. Fastbooted stock firmware again, this time I had no signal altogether.
Flashed LineageOS based on Android 9, asked for password and then said that data was corrupted.
Formated, not wiped, tried again and this time had signal but no fingerprint, LTE etc.
Followed this instructions and got stock N working perfectly.
Flashed AEX again, no figerprint or LTE.
Re did previous step to get N again.
Flashed LineageOS again, had LTE but still no fingerprint reader.
Flashed stock N for the last time.
So right now I have Android N and can download the 8.1 OTA update but It fails to install. I would like to get LineageOS working or maybe AEX, but I don't really trust It (altough all the problems I had with It were most likely my fault). Or at least get stock 8.1 running again. this seems to be what I need to get stock 8.1 but after all that I did I'm not sure which steps I should follow.
Thanks for any help.
First thing to do after getting signal and LTE working is to make a TWRP back-up of persist and EFS folders.
So, due to my Pixel's battery life being atrocious I wanted to try LineageOS 14.1 and use my P9 Lite as a daily driver.
I started by downgrading to Marshmallow from Nougat as DC-Unlocker wouldn't work on 7.0 and I needed the bootloader unlock code.
( I used the firmware and tutorial from 4mobiles dot net, looks to be a polish one. )
Once on 6.0 MM I was able to get the code and unlock the bootloader, however, LineageOS and it's TWRP does not seem to work on 6.0 so I needed to upgrade to Nougat again.
Unfortunately, when I try the official update it says there are no updates available and any time I try to use the firmware finder app either the download fails or upon attempting install the phone reports a 'compatibility issue' and won't accept any firmware.
I tried loads of different update.zip files via the recovery update as well as through ADB. Nothing seems to work.
Finally I was able to get TWRP 3.0.2.0 on it, but again, only the version from 4mobiles dot net works. Other versions of TWRP just remove recovery altogether. (I guess they don't work with 6.0)
At this point it's a bit easier to try roms, but still none of 'em seem to work.
-I tried sideloading and manually installing lineageos 14.1 from the sdcard, it fails with ERROR CODE 7
(currently I'm stuck on the 'YOUR PHONE CAN NOT BE TRUSTED/BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED' screen, no splash but I can get into recovery and fastboot)
-Tried flashing boot.img and system.img of various OEM firmwares as well as LineageOS's manually through ADB, same result, bootloops
It seems to me that some other file makes the phone believe that it's incompatible with any of my roms. Maybe the firmware i got for 6.0 is region locked, or perhaps it's the vendor.img that I don't know how to flash?
I know it's a grave mistake but I didn't take a note on what my original version number was. It was the latest 7.0 Nougat EMUI 5.0 update on a UK based unlocked VNS-L21. The 6.0 MM I flashed on it with a rollback update was C900B300.
I tried the proxy method, custom DNS, and manual download on various roms in the Firmware finder app. Even when the download doesn't fail, the system always says the firmware is incompatible when I try to install.
Right now I could put 6.0 MM back on it and make it usable, but I doubt it would be much better than the 7.0 that was on it originally.
Can anyone tell me how I could put the original Nougat firmware back on it? eRecovery doesn't detect any possible updates.
Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance!

use full update.zip from firmware finder. to upgrade, you can't use latest package. you must use first nougat update.zip.

I've only used Full-OTAs, no bugfixes. None of them seem to work.
Yesterday I tried manually selecting a different model in Firmware Finder;
VNS-L21C185 instead of the default VNS-L21C432-
and downloaded VNS-L21C185B397 update. It verified fine but I couldn't install it due to my recovery being TWRP and not the stock one. What I think I'll try is flashing the recovery of the original Marshmallow firmware that's currently on the system and seeing if it will install this update. I kinda doubt it will tho.
Any other suggestions?
Is there any way I can install a nougat TWRP without my current working firmware being on nougat?
If not, is there any way I can install a nougat firmware with TWRP 3.0.2.0? In order to flash update.zip / update.app files I need to get the stock recovery back, but I can't seem to be able to do that.
Is there any way I can flash a standard OEM Rom onto it with TWRP?

you can't install nougat TWRP in EMUI 4. you can install update.app with original recovery.
extract UPDATE.APP from update.zip
place UPDATE.APP to dload folder in sdcard.
press power button, vol+ and vol-
