Just a rooted stock rom - X Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a dual sim (XT1562) Moto XPlay with an AospExtended v4.6 Rom.
I'm not satisfied with this rom because I'm facing some bugs, sometimes there's battery draining, it suddenly shut off, data connection get lost, and the camera app is slower than the original one.
I really would like to come back to a stock rom, but I don't want to loose root privileges.
So my question are:
- is there in XDA a rooted stock rom (I mean, a stock rom with root priviledge)? Please, can you tell me which is its name or where I can find it?
- which is the cooked rom that looks more like the stock one?
Thanks in advance for your advices.

Solved installing this rom: [ROM][7.1.1][LUX]Debloated Os 1.6[Stock] by Miiiis.
It's a stock 7.1.1 rom, rooted with Magisk and debloated.
It works flawlessy and now my XPlay works great again.

[Q] Lollipop Update has slowed down phone performance, Games Lagging, Overheating

Hi,
This may sound repetitive but I think it is important for me to put this issue up.
Ever since I upgraded my Yureka to Lollipop, my phone seems to have lost a major chunk of it's performing speed. Low performance level games like Subway Surfer, Temple Run 2 etc. which used to run flawlessly before the upgrade now are all laggy and heat the phone up like crazy. My phone used to heat up only after playing games like Asphalt 8 before the upgrade, but even then the game never lagged. Now all games heat the phone up and lag after a minute or so of playing. The phone heats up even on stand by. I don't want to get back to CM11 but I am starting to think I don't have a choice.
Is there anything at all that you people can suggest for this? I'm desperately looking for a fix. I have not rooted the phone, ever. Suggest if anything can be done without rooting the device.
There are some major issues with stock CM12... U got to deal with it or have the choice to downgrade to KK But my suggestion would be to root the device & install Resurrection Remix Rom which is 5.1.1 & it seems to have ignorable bugs... U can try performance oriented kernel to get the max perfomance & there are a handful out there which are 5.1.1 compatable...
(Rooting doesn't void ur warranty, then why u prefer not to root? )
Just looking for options without having to root

Thanks for your reply, actually I wanted a permanent fix to this issue and if possible without the root, it would have been better. Is there no other possibility?
Well this is permanent fix. I am also using Resurrection rom with Sandy's kernel and everything is fine. No lags, no overheating, and charging time has also reduced.
Want to install Resurrection ROM

A5_UL Eu single sim (and any compatible variants) Working ROM thread

Hi all.
I'm using CM12.1 5.1.1 from 20150429. Grarak unofficial ROM.
Any Cm12.1 based ROM newer than this has bugs making my phone unusable.
-long time detecting sim card, and long time getting a cellular connection once sim detected
-SMS not sending or receiving
-no calls incoming
Which basically make it a mini tablet ...
So far I've tried a pacman 5.0.3 ROM but found it sluggish.
Does anyone with this same model of phone have a workaround or a suggestion of a stable working 5.1 ROM?
Has anyone tried updating RUU with either success or failures to report?
I'm at a loss here and its a shame, this phone is good value for money and was working well up to this last cm12.1 build.
I really don't want to go back to 5.0, and I'm not sure any sense/stock ROM is better? Can you share positive experience on this matter?
Thanks to all devs who give their time to allow us to use and own our phones. I am grateful and in no way taking any of this for granted.
Without you we'd all have locked phones and no freedom.
And peace to all, above and beyond ALL the rest!
Stock with xposed & some mods like Nitro X spark works fine for me, as there is no good ROM for our phone .. the bugs makes the phone unusable with custom roms :/
And you don't have issues with disk space etc? Stock 5.0, 5.1 or 4.4 ?

Random reboots with battery jumps

Hi, i'm starting this thread to figure out why some moto g4 and g4 plus randomly reboots and when it happes the battery percentaje changes.
For example it is on 95% and it reboots, it changes to 65%
It often happens when a notification cames and after the vibration it reboots.
Do it happens to you??
How can we fix it?
You should mention what device, rom+version, gapps+version, baseband, kernel etc. you are using. Otherwise you cannot figure out where's the problem if everyone has different setups.
It happens only in stock (marshmallow and nougat)
Xt1621 unlocked bootloader
And if I relock the bootloader it still happens
I didnt find a 100% stable ROM to be there so I don't have that bug

If I understand correctly(if I don't get it, please explain): the problem is only on stock roms? So why not using a custom rom?
That's Right, I don't use Roms because there isn't any stable ROM, or at least I don't know. Would you recommend me a stable ROM?

This one http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/development/xt16xx-cyanogenmod-14-1-alpha-t3492274 latest build or before the 0502 ist running without any reboot/freeze. RR is also a good choice!
BTT: as your problem is on stock roms only or you have not tested any custom rom it's hard to help you. You can try another kernel, that's all. Bug fixing a stock rom isn't possible, as the source isn't available, you understand?
So try another rom and see if you're facing same problem.
Maybe I am not clear.
Yes I tried Roms that's why I know that the bug is only in stock Roms.
Thank you!

random reboots

idk if posted some same thread but my problem is my phone suddenly reboots.
screen went off, twice vibration, then went to samsung galaxy s5 logo.
current setup: android 6.0.1 running no limits rom. all stock
sometimes it reboots then it is stock on the bootloader. i need to remove the battery and turn it on manually. using bootloader and modem of the latest recommended bootloader from the no limits rom.
(it also random reboots on stock firmware using spain which i downloaded from sam mobile firmwares)
is this a hardware issue?
edit: what i did was i upgraded my stock rom from 5.0.1 russia to 6.0.1 spain, does this affect anything? should i stick with russia?

i don't think it has to do with the battery because as long as you have power cores will work,
Do your phone gets too hot then?
I know what's going on I think. Something modified your kernel or something in the ROM is unstable. I had one that did that same thing when I used the camera. You need a better ROM. I recommend ressurection remix 5.8.3 nougat 7.1.2. No reason to be on marshmallow. And get this kernel. It fixed the camera issue and improves battery life. It's a unified klte rom.

That does not guarantee there's no bugs in your phone. Have you ever flashed a ROM or anything to your device?

Upgrade to a nougat ROM. It uses the same bootloader of mm so you only need to flash a ROM. Get ressurection remix or lineage is 14.1. Nougat fixes a lot of bugs and security issues. And xtrestolite isn't the most stable ROM. I had it in my s4.
---------- Post added at 06:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:45 AM ----------
And then if you use rr get the kernel I showed you and flash that too. Please note these Roms don't come with gapps. Google open gapps and it comes up. You want arm 7.0 or 7.1. Stock if you don't mind waiting a while for it to download. I get nano to save time as it still installs the framework and playstore. It saves space and if you want something it didn't install play store will have it anyway.

so you mean cyanogenmod?
Cyanogen mod is now lineage os team. Don't use cyanogen. Get lineage 14.1
If none of the software fixes work, it's your battery. Personal experiance from my S3 Mini and my S5. Don't rage over it going nuts (been there, done that) but just get a new battery.

Rooting and choosing the best/stable combination

Hello everyone, i am new to the scene of the Mi A1, i bought the phone about 1 month ago and have been observing the forums, but i would like to ask some questions the community as i have not yet managed to find clear answers to the forums if someone can help me
1. If i root the phone is there a way to revert back to complete stock and get OTA's again?
2. In custom roms, can i get the stock camera working 100%?
3. Is there any custom rom that you recommend in terms of stability and battery life?
4. Are there any drawbacks to the custom rom scene?
5. Do you recommend the stock rom with a custom kernel or a custom rom altogether?
Thank you in advance for your answers, i hope that this thread might be useful to gather some questions altogether for anyone that might have wondered the same stuff as me
Hello,
1. There is a way to update OTA with magisk, but you will need you use magisk just as systemless, without touching system stuff. Alternative you can have root and just unroot everytime you want to update the ROM or you can manually flash the update... You can try this guide... https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/how-to/root-mi-a1-oreo-8-0-disabling-ota-magisk-t3728654
2. Stock camera works in custom ROMs, someone did a port somewhere in this forums... https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/themes/oreo-mia1-stock-rom-camera-app-custom-t3758543
3 and 4. Most of the custom ROMs are based on the same sources, LineageOS was one of the first "stable" ROMs so most of the ROMs are based on it, inheriting all of its bugs (haven't found a critical bug). I've tested a few ROMs and the mosts I liked in terms of battery life and stability are... LineageOS and Pixel Experience, you will need to test them out for yourself.
5. If you want to experience a more "stable" feeling stick to Xiaomi development, the latest stable version is 8.0 (with rumors of 8.1 coming soon). If you want latest Android updates and features go for a 8.1 custom ROM.
In my experience you will need to try all this things on your own, until you find a place where you feel comfortable with your phone. Just read guides on how to recover your phone from a bootloop and you are good to go!
I will answer only question number 4 because the guy above me said everything, by the way I prefer RR.
The drawbacks I found on custom roms are 2 for me...
1) Poor signal reception compared to stock
2) Sound quality is much better in stock compared to custom... (my opinion)
I am itching to root the device but to be honest the only thing i want is android 8.1 and a better battery, other than that i am pretty much satisfied with what i have. (and this is coming from someone that changed rom every other week on previous phones) Thank you for your replies, they were informative and greatly appreciated! I just hope Xiaomi updates the phone soon because it feels kinda outdated for an android one device
