@[email protected]@[email protected] TWRP - i/o error - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yesterday I've tried to setup Lineage 14.1 on my Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 and in process of firmware updating TWRP displayed a message:
"error opening: 'data/misc/profiles/cur/0/foreign-dex/@[email protected]@[email protected]' (i/o error)"
After firmware update, I installed several updates and each time TWRP had been displayed that message.
After that, I proceed this path in total commander and didn't find this file (only few others), same time, TWRP file manager showed it, but not allowed delete or move it, even change permission, as same as copy to somewhere.
Could some one say, what is it mean this message (is it serious problem?) and why TWRP couldn't do anything with this file?

Error while flashing ROMs.

I've been trying to flash Nougat ROMS on my OnePlus 2. Every time I flash a new ROM, the process says "patching system unconditionally" and ends with
E:/ unknown error[log]
E:/ unknown error[log]
Then when I reboot, I get a boot loop and stays at the OnePlus logo.
I've tried different versions of TWRP. I've flashed both CM14 and RR14. Both showing the same error. Both original zip files showed Error 7 at first. I changed the updater-scripts in the META-INF folder and rezipped it. This solved Error 7. That is when this showed up "E:/ unknown error[log]".
It's not an error. It's informing you that the system image is getting patched with new ROM.

Bricked P9 Lite?

Hello,
I have a problem that I can flash TWRP wich works fine. I can go to fastboot. But however I am not able to install any ROMs. Tried Lineage 14.1 and Stock rom.
I tried to flash stock recovery and tried to flash it back by "dload" method - error "Package firmware is not compatible" and when I tried to flash Lineage 14.1, everything seemed fine until boot logo where I was stuck for half an hour before I gave up. Also I am not sure but I think I havent managed to root my phone - tested with "adb shell su" wich gives error messages.'
Even tried hisuite recovery but it said that my phone is not supported.
Tried erecovery wich said "Getting package info failed"
I also can enter stock recovery
Im also getting
Failed to mount /vendor (invalid argument) in olddroid TWRP
and when trying to flash system I get FAILED (remote: sparse flash write failure)
So basically only thing I can do is be in TWRP without root, fastboot and stock recovery.
I have european VNS-21. Used to have stock nougat with EMUI 5.0
Any ideas how to get back any kind of rom?

How to root a S8 G950F Exynos with failed integrity verification without wipe ?

Dear all,
I tried since yesterday to root my S8 Exynos (G950F). My phone is crypted and when I try to root with magisk via TWRP, I have errors to access to datas. When the system boot, I have the error unable to restart your phone. the integrity verification has failed....
Then via TWRP and the shell, I made a copy of the userdata partition on my computer (the crypted partition), then I wiped my phone, I flashed the DM Verify Disabler and then Magisk via TWRP, until then, no problem, I was root but with an empty phone.
There, I uploaded my copy of userdata partition into my S8, I boot the system and always the same error of integrity verification failed...
Now, my phone works always good (I flash the stock ROM via ODIN) but I haven't yet the root.
Is there a way to root the S8 without lost the datas ? A kind of APK or something else ?
Kind regards,
Lau

You need to reflash twrp in odin and boot into recovery (TWRP) before the phone boots the system. Id uncheck auto reset in odin and when its done flashing twrp again boot right into it. From there you want to select to keep the system read only, and then flash the DM Verity Disabler. After thats done flashing, your phone should boot up normally without seeing the integrity failed message. Its important that you boot right into twrp (recovery) after odin flashes it, if not you need to reflash twrp in odin until you successfully get into recovery before it boots your system.
I just tried 2 times this procedure, when I flash the no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.1, I have several error messages like Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument) or Unable to recreate /data/media folder or Unable to mount storage and Unable to mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps.
When I boot up the phone, I have the same error of integrity failed message and I have to flash a stock system and boot img

You have to wipe data otherwise it won't boot, there's no way round this unfortunately

Previous poster is correct. Wipe>Format data>yes> in twrp then you should be good to go.

I haven't been able to install any custom ROM, please help me! :(

I've tried to install some custom ROMS and always I have problem, both for ROMS with extension .zip (with TWRP) and for extension .img(with ADB). Anyway I always fail. Even to make backups with TWRP, also to wipe cache. For all always there an error, I don't understand why. In the past I had install Samsung ROMs without problem, but in Huawei have been an infernal experience, all is so much hard.
-When I try to wipe cache, appears an error that says
"Unable to wipe cache.
Unable to wipe /cache."
-When tryng to flash stock recovery from TWRP appears an error that says
"Size of image is larger than target device"
-When tryng to make BACKUP with TWRP appears an error saying
"Can not create '/external_sd/TWRP/BACKUPS/<<serialnumber>>/<<actuallydate>>' folder (Permission denied).
Failed to make backup folder."
-When trying to flash a .zip ROM from TWRP says
"Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Error installing zip file 'external_sd/LineageOS15.1-Hi6250-08-18-2018.zip'
When trying to flash GSI ROM(extension .img) with ADB, after "writing 'system' 1/4..." says
"FAILED (remote: sparse flash write failure)
finished. total time: 19.889s"
Those are my problems trying to flash anything :/
My phone is Huawei P9 lite 2017 PRA-LX3 with Android 8.0

As I go to install any possible ROM I can find through SDCARD I recieve the error displayed in the title.
E:signature verification failed
I read a bit around and I wast to add that I do not have the option to toggle off verification mode.

NVM, it was easier than what i thought.
Download TWRP.zip and place it on the SD card
install TWRP fropm Google APP
Open it and tell it to install the TWRP.zip into recovery.
shut down and start to recovery - which starts to TWRP
after that is very easy.
