I'm currently porting LineageOS 15.1 to the ZE552KL and ZE520KL.
Actually, it's already running pretty well: Screenshot is in attachments.
Will be released soon... stay tuned

Whooaaa. Looking forward to see the rom testing. I hope it run well ?
Anyway, can you test the rom with zenfone camera app ? I think it has great manual control

Currently there are still some major problems to resolve:
* Headphones are not recognized
* Light- and Proximity sensors don't work
* No data connection when roaming
* Permissive SELinux
Actually I'm not sure whether I can resolve them all by myself
After all I just started fiddling with android last summer so I'd still call myself a bloody beginner...
I will release this project nonetheless as an alpha, hoping that other devs with more experience will join in.

Any chance that rom you're working on will work on the ASUS_Z012DC?
@Seanbrockest
If it's the ZE552KL, then yes.

Very likely it will, even though you'll have to modify the installer zip so that it allows installation...
If you can get it to work by modifying the zip I'd gladly add your device by default!

I don't know about Ubuntu, but MIUI and OmniRom seems to be very resource consuming, and Moto E will not run stable as CM11 or PA.
This is what a heard. Maybe with the improvements in android lollipop, we can get any of this somehow in a distant future.

I'm just saying, but Ubuntu porting is really hard. I looked up on the page and I read the guide and you have to do much modification in both, kernel and device tree. It's really hard and time consuming. Idk if any dev out there would do it for our device. But let's see.

But what really annoys me, is that at 99% it stuck at syncing. I wasted 5 hours on sitting and watching and now this. Thank you github/PC/my life for doing such a great thing to me.
Well, I guess I'll have to resync..
EDIT: Finally found what the problem was. In default.xml a repo was there which doesn't exists anymore. That's why it simply stopped at this point. Now it worked and I'm done syncing. I can start building now!

EDIT: Looks like the official builds are on their server now, and can be found here http://get.aospa.co/official/dragon.
Just wanted to give anyone who's interested a heads up. Looks like the pixel c will be officially supported by PA, they currently have a test build out.
https://plus.google.com/+YamilGhazi/posts/J96qSfq3RBB
After being unable to get GMD gesture control working on the N preview, I decided to give it a try. So far working great, no issues that i've come across so far. I used OpenGapps nano and supersu 2.7.4. If you do give it a try, you should probably post some feedback in that linked post for the dev.
Great !
Thanks for the info !

Short Q - why would be supersu needed with PA anyway? Isn't there root integrated in developer options already?

No, it comes unrooted. Also, as a precaution to make sure it doesn't accidently try to force encrypt the tablet, as I think a lot of their builds do.

My biggest reason for not using N right now is GMD gesture controls doesn't work for it, and not sure I want a tablet without gesture control.
Well PA for our Pixel C is very close to stock now... I prefer DU since day 1 - ok, I wish I had some transparency settings like on Temasek but maybe my dreams get real For me not a big deal to switch from DU

It would be fantastic... but really? It seems a joke? I've been using Lineage os 13 from a long time; I've tried almost all the existing roms for Ghost, perhaps some have more atouts, but Los is by far the smoothest and less bugged. Only my opinion, though Good work, dude! My best regards

I've not the skills to say something about it, I can only wish good luck, for you and for us all, steady owner of this beloved and special Ghost! By the way, the issues are always the same, more or less, they concern audio and camera HALS. In Lineage 13, though, camera works perfectly and audio is good, even if it isn't as crispy as it is in the stock rom, when recording videos. But, in any case, it is a little and insignificant detail?

dont be so exited about the update,
knowing xiaomi devs, the "patch" (what a paradox) if we can even call it a patch will most likely bring even more bugs on this wreck of a software,

Almost every other custom ROM is better than stock, in every way. So I'm using Havoc now, waaay better than official.
At least the developer community works on crashing bugs every day, and for free. Xiaomi meanwhile for every update brings more damage than good, always.
