Ressurrecting Your Moto X After Update Error (Locked Bootloader)

So you just updated or downgraded and got a problem. Then your bootloader is locked again and you can't unlock it.
Calm Down. Let's solve it.
First things first. You need to verify your bootloader version, so you'll be able to download the proper OTA.
To do that, use the fastboot command "getvar all".
You should get something like this:
Code:
version-bootloader: 30BE(*)
version: 0.5
cpu: MSM8960 Pro CS
ram: 2048MB Elpida S4 SDRAM DIE=4Gb
emmc: 16GB Toshiba REV=06 PRV=01 TYPE=17
product: ghost
revision-hardware: 0x8300
radio: 0x1
secure: yes
mid: 026b
serialno: 1f51d81c
qe:
unlocked: Not supported
iswarrantyvoid: Not supported
max-download-size: 805306368
uid: 41928C040C000100000000000000
imei: 000000000000000
meid:
sku: 000000000000000
cid: 0xdead
iccid:
date: 01-01-1970
cust_md5:
reason: Invalid CID
ro.build.date:
ro.build.id:
ro.build.tags:
ro.build.type:
ro.build.user:
ro.build.version.codename:
ro.build.version.incremental:

ro.mot.build.customerid:
ro.product.name:
ro.build.fingerprint:
ro.build.version.full:
kernel.version:
all:
finished. total time: 0.195s
Now, we're only concerned about the first line. Check out your bootloader version and verify your system's version in the list bellow.
30.70 = original 4.2.2
30.71 = 4.2.2 OTA with camera update
30.B2 = 4.4
30.B4 = 4.4.2
30.B7 = 4.4.4
30.BC = 5.02
30.BD = 5.1
30.BE = 5.1
Ok, now you need to download the proper version of your OTA, so you can overwrite your version. It will only work with the exact same version it is installed.
This post should help you find your OTA
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/info-tip-web-sites-official-leaked-roms-t2923347
Now, for making it easier for you, you don't need to install the whole ROM. You just need to flash the logo.
For that purpose, download the bootloader fix and extract it in your ROM's folder, with the "logo.bin" file.
http://d-h.st/EYgh
If it is the right OTA, the problem should be solved. If it isn't, you just need to download another one, being it the version that matches your bootloader.
And that's it. If I helped, hit the "Thanks" button.

unsuccessful unlock attempt; bootloader status: "flashing_unlocked",

I have already unlocked a few Motos, including Moto G4 Play without any problem.
But this time is different.
After my unlock attempt, the phone is not actually unlocked and 'fastboot getvar all' reads out the following:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version-bootloader: moto-msm8952-B1.03
(bootloader) product: athene_13mp
(bootloader) secure: yes
(bootloader) hwrev: P2A

(bootloader) securestate: flashing_unlocked
(bootloader) iswarrantyvoid: yes
(bootloader) sku: XT1625
athene:7.0/NPJ25.93-14/16
The phone boots and works ok, but the bootloader is NOT unlocked.
I guess I have to flash bootloader B1.03, 2016-10-21, (0xB103) from stock NPJ25.93-14?
Code:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
The getvar commands says that the bootloader is unlocked. What makes you think it isn't?

Regardless, did you try flashing a new recovery? If it works without a hitch, your device is unlocked.

When I boot TWRP and run TWRP's file manager, I do not have access to files, even those on /external_sd.
which TWRP to use?
twrp-3.1.1-0-athene.img
twrp-3.1.1-athene_shreps.img
so you have twrp recovery installed correctly ???.
if yes then try to flash super su or custom rom ( resurrection remix best , i am using )
but take back up first with twrp
Sent from my Moto G4 Plus using Tapatalk
If you can flash and replace stock recovery with TWRP, your device is unlocked. You might want to enable TWRP to allow access to modify the system in the first screen, by flashing TWRP again and selecting that option in the first startup screen.

G5 Plus Hard bricked after flashing wrong ROM

I have Indian Set.
These are the things I did:
Unlocked Bootloader [Successful]
Flashed TWRP [Successful]
Tried to install Custom ROM and Failed because TWRP was 32 bit.
Installed 64 bit TWRP [Successful]
Flashed Custom ROM but was draining lot of battery; so I decided to get back to Stock.
Flashed flashable stock ROM from TWRP from here. [NPNS25.137-92-4 (20180101 security patch)] [Successful]
Which was the Wrong ROM; I guess.
After Flashing the ROM, IMEI showed : 0. So there were no signal.
Tried to fix IMEI after seeing YouTube video using GS_II_Repair app.
The app was for Samsung Galaxy S II. The YouTube video didn't mention it. So. I followed the video.
This HardBricked the phone. [no sign of life, no bootloader, no recovery, no booting menu, just LED light flashing after connecting to charger].
I used Albus Blank Flash to get to Bootloader Menu.
I tried to install the Stock Firmware using fastboot. The flashing Process is successful but the device shows "Bootloader Unlocked Warning" in a loop.
This is what I get of
Code:

flash any other bootloader logo.bin then it wont show up that bootloader unlocked warning,even though it shows like that it should not pose any problem you should be fine installing any twrp stock rom or custom oreo rom.
but if you had lost imei due to moving from oreo to stock rom then just flash any custom oreo rom (recent ones) and use these 2 commands fastboot erase modemst1,fastboot erase modemst2 then boot into the oreo rom you will have your signal back but for now volte is lost if your network provider supports volte.
wish u good luck.

Normally, we should unlock bootloader before flashing firmware.
With unlocked bootloader, you can flash firmware from other regions, low android version (5) to higher one (6 or 7).
When flashing a different region firmware, you should make a factory reset via Recovery.
You should give more infomation about the state of the phone: can enter bootloader, recovery mode or not; can turn on screen or not; how the PC shows when the phone is connected to PC.....

Hi My Phone Is On And Its Locked On Bootloader (State Is Locked) I Couldn't Flash Any Frimware My Phone Region Is Asia I Cant Enter Recovery Mode PC And PC Shows It In Fastboot Mode
By The Way Is There Any Way To Put This Phone On Test Point Or EDL?
When you connect the phone to PC, if it turns on and enters fastboot mode (the screen turns on, and you can see the android and phone information), it is reflashable. But the bootloader is needed to unlock (you can google this problem, it's easy to perform). Then you go to firmware.center, find rom Asia with android 7 and flash it to the phone.
If the lcd is not on when you connect to PC, here is the method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/help/solved-hard-brick-moto-x-style-xt1572-t3693860

It turns on and boots to bootloader but I tried to unlock the bootloader but it says you should allow bootloader oem unlock in developer options , and I can't access that obviously
So you can try to flash the firmware without flashing gpt.bin; bootloader.img; boot.img; recovery.img
Or you can try to make an sdcard like the link I mentioned before. Insert it to the phone and try to flash the firmware then.

This the problem I tried every rom I cloud but none of it worked
If the phone can enter bootloader, the easiest way is to flash the newest firmware to the phone for both situations: locked or unlocked bootloader. My Verizon Droid Turbo had been soft-bricked when it was on Android 5. When android 6 came, it resurrected.
If a firmware is successfully flashed to the phone, it can start up normally or be stuck at logo. If it is stuck, enter recovery mode and factory reset.
There is one last method with super high risk: break the bootloader then resurrected by sdcard. One of my phone has died before, so never use this method if you don't have experience.
I mentioned everything I know. If your phone does not start, you may need another one.
I'm sorry that it does not help
