LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Interesting, ordered my phone yesterday, due to Chinese New Year, it will probably shipped next month (and will arrive the month after due to being a China's import lol), I will keep an eye on this thread, let's see how the things are going until then.
Good work so far sir.

Why do you think this thread is dead? Development just has started, wait until the Note 5 officially come out, it's the same device as the Redmi 5 plus, development will get better the next months if you ask me.

What is Lineage OS?
Lineage OS is created by Steve Kondik and others and is a fork of CyanogenMod. If you have seen the above post where it says CyanogenMod continues to Live, is really true but not in itself. CyanogenMod has evolved in a new avatar as the Lineage OS. Eventually, developers contributing to CyanogenMod will contribute to Lineage OS. Slowly CyanogenMod will be dead by name and the Lineage OS will be popular as a custom ROM among developers and advanced users. This website is an unofficial place to get all Lineage OS ROMs for various supported devices.

Maybe a mod can change the topic title. Idk.
Just used the title that fits most. When the maintainer create a thread i also have no problem that a mod close / delete this here.

I am just saying that you cant open a thread in development section just to post links to an official rom. You can do it in general but not here. Let a real developer do it.

You've done a nice job on the OP, it would be a shame to waste it. Maybe you can ask a mod to move it to the General section instead of Development.

Yes, that is to discuss development. Having a thread here is a good way to keep the non-development stuff out of that thread. Too often the development threads got cluttered with n00b questions.
hi there,
did you brought us a official (usable) ROM with no issues?

With project treble rom development will become easy AF (we hope!). Please sign, it's an important improvement for our phone.
Can Treble feature be added to a phone after the choice is made not to support it right off the bat? I thought the treble setup requires two different partitions that need to be part of the factory original file structure of the phone.

Yes but their 8.0 update already supported treble.
Guys I wouldnt be to excited about this. Here are a few reasons.
1. OEM will still be in charge of sending out updates. Which we all know will not change
2. This does 0 for custom rom development at all. Most devs have already stated they will not support it or even bother with it.
3. The petition means less then nothing really.
4. The Mate 9 update is broke and doesnt work nearly as well as they are claiming in the portal post. (If you go to thread you will see that it is still unstable and requires tons of work to make it work right)
5. Even if you did flash an aosp rom with Treble, you would lose all OEM features.
Maybe we don't need an official treble, seems op5 and maybe op5t has the proper hardware to support it non-officially.
Keep an eye here for info:

Why it's not going to happen, petition or not:
OmegaHsu @oneplus.net said:
Project Treble requires a storage partition, by which the Android framework and vendor image are separated. However, because partitions were not required of Android N and previous versions of Android, all of our current devices do not feature a partition. According to our tests, if we were to modify the partition layout via OTA there is a risk that devices will brick during the partitioning. We feel this poses too great a risk for our community of users, which is why we have decided not to implement Project Treble on current OnePlus devices.

i guess we have to close the thread.
Really? Why can't we keep pushing and discussing it? First of all, oneplus could have easily implemented a second partition given that Oreo was already out of for months when the 5t was released. So this is excuse sounds a bit lame to me. Second, why not providing us with the vendor files so that developers can find a partitioning implementation that users use on their own responsibility?
No Treble support was well known before release. Not sure I understand why folks purchased it if they wanted Treble support.
The more thoughtful petition should be....
OnePlus plz give support of our 5T to android Q

Their software pipeline is definitely more than a few months long. I'd bet the Nougat build was already a ways into development before Oreo came out, and at that point starting over would have been silly.
So what? I don't care what software I'm on, if it's stable, battery life good, and there's not much change is android oreo, **** guys you are like bunch of kids, if it works why change?
I think our best bet right now is hoping someone will develop a 5T ROM with hacked in Treble Support so we can then use the upcoming unified Treble Updates. Not much hope we'll see any support from OnePlus and they are getting slower and slower with their Updates...

Hey, nice job there.
Sadly anything telephony-based is (almost?) impossible to fix because of Samsung's own implementation instead of MTK one
Anyway. Can I have the base ROM device? Also, does it survives a reboot? An older cm14 port had wifi working but bootlooped after a reboot. Ty!
Edit: your screenshots are broken
This is GETAKGT1 work. You should search it on facebook. He is good. I hope we can contribute to his work and manage to credit him for his works.

I know but that is Dot OS Nougat, not related with LOS 13.0
Releases are available here, I suggest V3: Release MOD-RM5S-HIGH · mrslezak/android_kernel_nubia_sm8250 (github.com)
Go to the thread in the RM5G group which has more details here - some minor bugs; game mode switch is backwards, high brightness: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...0mhz-battery-1-4-stable.4112811/post-84209945
It can be flashed from TWRP on a rooted device. Also install Magisk. You can see the main page there for details, although the RM5S version doesn't have all the features of the RM5G version, it works.
Github source (I don't own this phone, commits aren't proper, look at them in the RM5G repo if you want the proper commits): mrslezak/android_kernel_nubia_sm8250 (github.com)
Note this was just by chance found to be compatible with the LOS kernel our dev made, so I figured why not share with the RM5S folks. Android 10 ONLY. Don't try on R.
Enjoy your new fast phone!

Others in the Telegram channel are also getting 670K results. One more thing that does not work is the led notification / lights I believe. Can't be fixed as no kernel source available unfortunately.
This kernel can be flashed on 7.14 euro firnware? Nubia Red Magic 5S phone. Just flash the zip file via TWRP?
On Red Magic 5S, firmware 7.15, the core is up, switching the game mode backwards, the logo below does not light up, the ice indicator does not light, when the screen is off, the fan does not work when charging.
mslezak, Thank you very much for your hard work, but the core on 5S does not bring much benefit, I sat on it for a day, in normal use it is the same as on the stock core, I only play tanks, the battery consumption is 25% per hour, the drain is 20% , plus all sorts of glitches on your core, in short, I don't recommend your core for 5S.

V3 works quite well on 5s roms. 8.11 and 7.14
Not enough folk to test on 8.12 and 7.15
The only bugs reported, have been
game space button only working in reverse ( got to switch it off to activate game space)
Game space options menu not opening
LED controls not working on 5S devices.
..
In reality this kernel is actually a LOS 17 kernel, it just randomly happened to boot on 5S, it was not intended at all.
As it worked even in a basic way, Matt put his other tweaks and mods into it then shared it.
It still took months of time to tweak his builds for the 5G, so he really does deserve alot of credit for this work.
Im personally working on a 5S stock mod, hoping to release my test builds soon.

thanks. As you are working on the rom, could you please check if red magic moment can be extracted as a separate app, which mods can then tweak to work with game updates? It would be awesome given Nubia takes ages to update. Thanks.

Many people asked for this to record games, so far no port has been 100% working. I don't dev this kind of stuff I just do kernels and the internals of things. On XDA and for my primary job.
BTW the TG channel has an updated version of the RM5S and RM5G LOS / custom ROM that was fixed by a few devs to get the lights and such working https://github.com/fandango96/android_kernel_nubia_sm8250 check under the releases page, this ROM is supposed to work on the 8.12 kernel with all working on RMOS Q. Davide Garberi / official LOS dev rebuilt the kernel from scratch then Ali Shahid fixed some of the rewritten code "bugs" and Fandango fixed the remainder.
I do have an R kernel build out there, just no one has tested it. Nubia has not released the vendor DTS/DTSI files required to build so I used those from the Q release.

Hey. Are you still giving updates to this ROM? I'm thinking to trying it
(I'm new on the world of custom ROM's, so i'm just having fun around testing stuff, i'm adoring it so far ahah. But i still didn't found a ROM where i feel comfortable, and the ones i did don't have vanilla sadly)
EDIT1: I'll actually going to install it now. Let's say i like this one and wan't to stay on it, do you have plans to update it to android 13? I already noticed not many people gave attention to your project sadly... But hey, i noticed it!

Dude one rom takes 8-12 hours to build in linux with my pc and i need my pc so i cant wait for that Plus i have to test all of the builds that i make and it will consume time. If i had better cpu than i7 7700 i'd keep continue developing roms but here i am
When i did this crdroid 8.5 i was so happy but then i realised the time i spent
