I bought a asus flip cover(aftermarket) and the wake up function doesn't wake up the tablet.
I'm thinking it probably doesn't have the magnets in place in order for the tablet to recognize the flip cover.
Can anyone confirm that this works with the official asus cover with the latest firmware?
Should it shut the display off as well, or just wake it?
I ask this because I had a nexus 10 and it did both functions OK.

I got one of those "smart" cases which send my Nexus 10 to sleep and wake it up once i close/open the front cover.
However i wondered how this really works, is there a sensor within the Nexus 10?
Also , i lately put my Nexus 10 the wrong way round(with the screen still facing me but the lower bottom, where the pogo connector is being up and the camera being down) in the case and closed the front. As expected the Screen didnt shut nor did it wake up when i opened it.
So i guess there is no sensor on that side of the tablet?Is it possible then to harm the hardware inside by the magnet withing the case. I mean when i put it in the wrong way round.

LOL. There is no wrong way! OK. There is. Don't drop it on a hard surface.
There are magnets in your case that trigger the wake up/down of your N10.
the magnetic sensor is right about the left side of the ambient light sensor... try running a fridge magnet there and see the screen go off and on when the magnet is away...

I have the MOKO slim case, just wondering if im able to increase the speed in which the screen wakes when I open the case?
Been looking and there are some mods to edit the proximity sensor but I believe its another sensor id need to modify.
Any ideas chaps?
I want to have less of a wait turning the screen on when I pull back the cover

I don't know about you but my tab is awake the second I lift up the cover an inch away... By the time it is fully open it is well awake
mine kinda takes a little while too, but i dont really mind it. I have the moko too and by the time i get the flap behind the tablet its on
Sometimes it will lag if you closed it on a different orientation then your opening it. (Portrait/landscape)

I bought 2 different cases for my girls friends Galaxy S4. One is working but does not have the S-window. The other has S-window but does not have sleep and wake function.
My questions is: How does the sleep and wake function been activated on the phone? Is it similar to an iPad where there must be a little magnet on the case to activate the function or is it purely activated by sensors on the Galaxy S4? Or other ways? I noticed the S4 has plenty of new features that uses its internal sensor so I am thinking maybe the sleep and wake function was implemented automatically as long as you get a flip cover case.
Anyone know?

Yes sview is activated by magnet. The sensor is close to the volume down button but more at the back of phone than the side.
You need a reasonably strong magnet, I found that a fridge magnet wasn't strong enough. Need stronger one.
P.s. The title of thread isn't quite right should be more like "how is S-view activated"

My flip cover turns off screen when It's flipped to the back on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4.
It should only turn my screen off when i flip it over the screen and not when i flip it to the back of the tablet.
I've bought two different flipcovers and both does the same for some reason.
Anyone know about this problem and maybe a solution to fix it?

Hello, I just got my Redmi 4 Prime today with the official Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime PU flip case.
I have a problem with the phone not going to sleep when i cover the phone with the flip case and not waking up when i open the case like it does on my redmi note 3 pro.
Where in MIUI can I enable this setting? I cant find it anywhere.
turns out the flip cover had no magnets and the magnetic sensor is being used for it.
I just downloaded a proximity sensor smart lock and it fixed the problem. lock thread please.
