RMM State and Rooting - New Phone - Samsung Galaxy Note FE Questions & Answers

So guys,
Just got a new Note FE. I've read a lot, and I find some stuff confusing as all information is still not available in One Place.
In Developer Settings - My OEM Unlock is visible, Unlocked already by me. USB Debugging is also enabled.
If I go to Download Mode - RMM State Shows - PreNormal
OEM/FRP - Both Off.
Can I flash TWRP in this State?
Or should I not?

Hello.
You have to wait 7 days to make the rmm state disappear. Don't reboot or Switch off your phone for 7 days. Once the rmm state disappeared in download mode, you can flash custom binaries

To my knowledge, if you install a custom ROM, this will void your warranty by setting the knox counter to (0x1). Others have said they were able to install custom ROMS and the only time the knox counter would trip is when they proceeded to install TWRP. If this is the case, I would recommend installing your carrier ROM for Orange (French) and then changing your CSC settings to the original carrier so it will reset your phone and reboot recognizing the proper ROM. At this point, your Device Status will show "Original".
Hope this helps!
Thanks, I'm downloading it right now, I know my warranty is avoid, how do I know if I have the right CSC?

You will download your original carrier ROM and install through ODIN. Once installed and the phone has rebooted, you want to change the Device Status from "Custom" to "Original". To do this, enter *#272*(IMEI#)# where (IMEI#) is your 15 digit IMEI number found on your box or by dialing *#06# from your dialer. Once in this menu, select the 3 letter CSC which refers to the carrier ROM you just downloaded.
Hope this helps!

You are getting this code I assume when trying to enter the CSC menu through the dialer (*#272*)?? If so, follow this excerpt from my other thread:
There's essentially 3 parts to your Samsung Galaxy Note 3:
PDA, PHONE and CSC. The PDA is the firmware (software) in your device, the phone is the modem (2G/3G/4G/LTE) etc... and the CSC is the Consumer Software Customization.
The PDA is your software the phone is running and your GUI if I can put it that way. The key components of the device are the Phone and CSC. The phone is the modem of the device which communicates with the network for wireless voice and data connectivity. The CSC is the software that configures the communication between your device and carrier specific network when it comes to data speeds and network connectivity.
You should be able to use the method I suggested to change your consumer software customization (CSC). If this does not work, try this:
Boot into TWRP by powering off your device and once off, power on using Volume Up + Home Button + Power Button (all at once). When you see the Galaxy Note 3 logo, let go and it will boot into TWRP. Once in TWRP, press the corresponding buttons to data wipe/factory reset and wipe cache. Once done, press the button to reboot and try the *#272* method. If this does not work, try the following:
This software application will manually force your CSC since you've rooted your device:
Download and install the busy box application: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ricson.busybox
The above is needed for the CSC Changer App to work
Once installed, download and install CSC Changer App: http://d-h.st/IpA
Open the CSC Changer app and select “Change CSC”
This will take you directly to the available CSC codes list on your device. Please note that you will be able to see many codes only if your device’s firmware has multi-CSC
Select your desired CSC and tap on “Install” option
You device will now reboot and when it wakes up, it’ll have the new CSC
Hope this helps!

Do you have an external SD card installed? If so, try unmounting it, taking it out and rebooting.
Hi ggblake, tried that too.
I think the only solution I have is to wait for our great devs at XDA to find à fix.

for me a Kies 3 solution worked. i had already latest rom with 'modified' status, funny enough Kies automatically updated it to the latest (same) version after which 'Official' status was restored. did you try that? not flashing with odin or anything like that...

The Kies method is only good IF you haven't flashed the new bootloaders or your latest stock rom for your region has the new bootloaders...
Doing emergency recovery through kies with the new bootloaders and stock rom for your region having old bootloaders = lots of bootlooping and no recovering to stock firmware. You then need to flash the firmware with the new bootloader via ODIN to get out of the bootloops...

REDMI NOTE 3 Pro [Snapdragon] Tip to unlock bootloader Safely

Considering the struggle i had unlocking the bootloader officially (not wanting to take the risk of Bricked device)
And reading all the available guides and tips around various forums on Google, this includes mi community, mi forum, mi india forum, xiaomi eu, XDA and various other sites.
i finally figured out the easiest way based on my own research and success i got.
Its safest and easiest method but require patience.
Prerequisites.
*Working and stable internet (phone and Computer)
*Mi Suite (for correct Drivers)
*Mi Account with complete details (Name, phone number and Synced)
*Mi Unlock Tool
*Same sim card on phone as on the Account
*Same Account that got the permission to unlock.
*Find phone feature turned on
*MI Account synced with Mi servers.
*Global Developer Rom installed
*Mi official USB cable (same that came with in the Box)
*Patience
Steps
1. Apply for the unlock permission.(i got mine approved in 2 days)
2. Connect your phone in normal mode to computer and sync it on the computer.
3. Open your browser and log on to MI cloud.
4. Connect to the Mi account on the browser.
5. Now enable Developer option on the phone.
6. Remove all the security features like fingerprint, pattern, pin or anything that that you have to secure your device.
7. Enable USB Debugging, OEM unlock and "Skip Screenlock" (this you will find just above USB debugging)
8. Log in to MI unlock tool and sign in with the same account as on the phone.(The account should have permission to unlock)
9. Connect you phone on Fastboot mode (Volume down+Power)
10. When the phone is detected in the unlock tool hit unlock. (process might fail with the same error "Could not verify the device or the account is different on device")
11. Retry without disconnecting the device. (Mine got unlocked in the 2nd straight attempt using these steps.)
Note: Try to unlock the device as soon as you get the permission. You will fail but try every day once, you will succeed in a weeks time.
I got my permission the 3rd day from the day of applying and i have been trying every day. I finally succeeded on the 7th day.
I hope this guide helps most of the people stuck with locked bootloader.
Let me know if you need links to the TOOLS. i can provide them.
i have got permission on the second day of my application this is my 4th day after approval try everyday since approval but no luck yet
So if my mobile number and sim is different than the mobile number on account will I have an issue?

I used to flash roms earlier but now after the update I can't seem to find the oem unlock in my developer options?

I'm guessing I'll have to wait for like 7 days for the oem lock option to pop up.

Alright mate.
Hello! If it is before doing root, you have to delay the date setting of your smartphone for 7 days. After that, restart your phone with Wi-Fi enabled and if the date does not update automatically, go to date settings and return to automatic date and time, and that's it. Then unlock the developer mode and the oem unlock will be available. However, after root, the oem is locked again, so you have to wait not to block by frp.

Updating Pie Stuck

I've rooted PIE I'm sure I've flashed rmm bypass (but it was v2 ) but now I restarted phone It says "Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed " and "KG staterenormal " at DL mode I'm gonna Flash rom with Home_csc
THEN
Flashed with both CSC's It boots to a blue system update screen then at updating %32 it says erasing then boots to stucked boot.
EDIT: Maybe a solve: Did a wipe at native recovery now booted but I'm not sure about rebooting :/.
I'll wait 7 days before a reboot If this RMM (or KG with its new name) state turns off will I see OEM unlock option at Dev Settings or should I go to DL mode?
( Btw I hate Samsung WHY CANT I USE MY PHONE WITH ROOT )
1 more Edit : In dev settings I can see OEM lock its unlocked anyway I'll wait 7 days
To get past the 7day wait, turn off auto update system in developer options. Turn off auto date and time. Set date back 9days then go to software update and check for an update...after its done checking for update reboot. Go to software update check for update again it should say the date you set 9days ago. Go to developer options OEM unlock should be there and prenormal should be gone. I have done this numerous numerous tines and it works no 7day wait.

Yes, I have done it. I unlocked the bootloader to install Magisk, but it was too difficult to update the phone with Magisk installed, so I used Mi Flash Tool to reflash the stock ROM and locked the bootloader.
(When the bootloader is locked, it will only boot if it the ROM is fully stock, do not lock the bootloader without reflashing the stock ROM.)

These are the steps for unlocking the bootloader.
1. You need to have a real email and a real phone number to create a Mi account.
2. Login the Mi account in the phone (with email address), go to settings, about phone, and tap MIUI Version (For POCO) 7 times to enable developer options.
3. In settings, go to more settings, developer options, and at there you can bind the Mi account to this phone (Mi Unlock status), you will need a real sim card with mobile data to do it.
4. After binding the Mi account to the phone, you need to wait for 15 days before you can unlock the bootloader. (7 days if you have enabled find device.)
5. Download Mi Unlock on your PC, and reboot the phone into fastboot mode (can be done with adb shell commands, or by long pressing the power and volume down buttons at the same time), unlock the phone with Mi Unlock, all data will be erased after unlocking the bootloader.
(If you have not waited for 15 days, or 7 days, during the unlocking process, Mi Unlock will tell you to wait. Unlocking the bootloader could be dangerous, it could brick the phone if something goes wrong, please be careful, backup your data, and make sure you know how to use Mi Flash to install the stock ROM if the phone gets soft bricked.)
Thank you - and for the warning about re-lock.
I need a phone number for unlock? And what is needed to lock - the same email and phone-nr? Or can this be done with a tip? Waiting for 15days is strange. A lot of time to think it over

You need a phone number (sim card with mobile data) to create the Mi account for unlocking and binding. To lock the bootloader after unlocking, an account is not required, you only need to choose "clean all and lock" in Mi Flash Tool.

There is no way to unlock it earlier using the official way.
It is because in China, Xiaomi phones did not have locked bootloader, unofficial sellers would install modified ROMs (with a lot of bloatware or malware) on Xiaomi phones, and sell those phones to people who did not know the ROM was modified.

It will become not certified with unlocked bootloader if you are using official ROM, and after relocking bootloader it will be certified.
But if you want to keep your bootloader unlocked and still want the phone to be certified, you can use the Xiaomi.eu custom ROM, or install Magisk in the official ROM and enable MagiskHide.

If you are installing the official fastboot ROM of a different region, you should be able to relock bootloader and the phone will still work. (As long as it is not the China version of hardware.)
Just use the tgz fastboot ROM file, extract it into a folder, and select that folder in Mi Flash, choose clean all and lock, and start flashing. (Make sure bootloader is unlocked before flashing.)
I have installed Taiwan ROM on the global version of both POCO M3 and Redmi 9T, after relocking bootloader, the phones still work without software problems.
