I tried using Wacom tablet with OTG but it did not work out. As per some some threads I found it says Wacom drivers are pre-installed in Nougat and it worked with some Nexus devices. Any idea how to get it working this device ?
PS: I have a rooted device.

I tried the microsoft wireless display adapter that worked so well with all my Samsung phones. But with the AXON 7 it was VERY pixelated (square blocks dragging across the screen).Hence not very usable.
I wanted something cheap, because I could'nt find a concrete compatible dongle. So I bought the Anycast M2 (version 2 which has decent specs).
Before updating it didn't work so well, but after the most recent update the dongle works almost flawlessly!
I LOVE IT ! This phone now mirrors better than any phone I ever owned ! I think its the 820 processor runs so smooth I forget its mirroring all the times !
I bought this device on ebay for 12$ ENJOY !!!!!!!!!!
If you guys are already mirroring what dongle are you using ? how does it work ?

It does seem an unusual thing to want with a tablet, but as I just can't get on with touch screen devices, a touchpad is essential for me. I looked around for information about this possible problem, but can't find any so I thought I may as well create a thread.
This is the keyboard/touchpad I have: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0176GEXC6/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also have this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B017Z6Q596/ref=twister_B017Z5RF64?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I've previously had loads of different tablets all work very responsively with the touchpad. Very quick to respond. No lag or delay. A list of tablets I've used: (some are from amazon so may not be known at all here) Fusion5 Q102, Dragon Touch X10, Original Tesco Hudl, Acer Inonia B1-7A0. These all worked find with the touchpad.
However, I bought a Huawei MediaPad M3 Lite 8 and the keyboard worked fine. But the touchpad was horrible and sluggish. You could go into setup and adjust the pointer speed, but that didn't solve the fact that it is sluggish and takes time for it to catch up to where it has been taken. I thought it could be the bluetooth version. The M3 had 4.0 and android 7.0. But I then went to Currys PC world to try out nearly 10 of their tablets with each of these keyboards. The keyboards always worked fine. But the touchpad worked fine with some of them but terribly with others. I could not find the reason as to why it worked with some an not others. Well, it always worked, but when it has the problem, the problem is always the same, just slow and unresponsive and keeps dropping off. I wanted to try the Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus. But they didn't have that in stock. I tried the model below (just not the plus model) and that had the same unresponsive problem with both touchpads. But I went yet another model down (Tab E8) and that worked as flawlessly as my old Acer tablet which I've used for nearly a year. But that was to low specification for what I was wanting.
I then tried buying the Lenovo Tab4 8 Plus from amazon. This has suitable specification for what I want. But when I recieved it, the trackpad works but is very difficult to use again. This problem baffles me as I tried tablets in the store which had the same bluetooth and andorid version and some of them worked fine. Like the Amazon kindle fire and the 8 inch version of my acer tablet. I also tried a samsung tablet with android 8.1 and that worked fine with it but that was well above my price limit.
I've been using by Tab4 8 plus for a few days now and it is an excellent tablet so i want to stick with it. But I am really wanting a keyboard with a touchpad that works. Basically that can fold up into a case like in the first link. I asked the seller of the 2nd keyboard with a touchpad and they said that the touchpad should be compatible with all android devices. Well it is working, but not very usable for many tasks. I don't get on with windows either. I'm basically wanting a small laptop with android, but I don't think such a thing is made. I get on with Linux ok, but it is so difficult to find very small laptops these days. There are several touchpad keyboards for android out there. But I don't want to keep buying until i figure out what it is that makes it so unpredictable weather it will work properly with any tablets. If Lenovo made a case with a keyboard and trackpad, that would be so nice!
All my previous tablets were budget ones. It is just frustrating that I've only managed to get touchpads to work with my budget tablets. If I pay more, I expect a wider range of compatibility.
I would much appreciate some help with this. I don't have a smartphone and that is because of my difficulties with touchscreen. I've got on well with my Acer tablet in the last year, but could really do with an upgrade. I'm happy with the performance of my new Lenovo, but am so confused about what sort of touchpad it needs to work well with it. Given logitech make keyboards for android (too big in my case) it must be possible to get such a thing for android. I just don't know what to buy.
I've attached a screenshot to show what I use. A similar designed keyboard or entire new case with a keyboard and touchpad is what i'm after. Or a way around fixing what I have. If I'm getting a new one, a UK keyboard would be a big preference, but the touchpad is the priority so i could cope with an international layout.
Many thanks.
Going to pick my z4 up from the vzw store today. Will test my usb c to hdmi hub adapter. Worked for my galaxy note. To bypass using dex so i could plug my phone mouse and keyboard to any hdmi tv. Got online for $11 worked great. Going to see if the z4 works for this and test out its otg capabilities today. Will let yall know
Also going to look into getting root. After i contact moto to see if we can get device on there bootloader unlock list
No go on the usb c to hdmi hub. Detects charging. But does not extend the display to the hdmi device. Tested on one of my tvs . Will test on my samsung smart but i doubt that makes a difference.
Regarding the bootloader unlock, are you saying it's possible that the VZ branded Z4 may be eligible through Moto's portal? I tried it and, as predicted, it failed. I just assumed all VZ phones are locked down.
I don't think any support MHL anymore as Miracast and Googlecast replaced it. Tried OTG and no worky. But, please prove me wrong.
Any luck on unlocking the bootloader? I've never had a Verizon phone but I came across this z4 practically brand new for a 100 bucks so I picked it up. If I knew that u couldn't unlock the bootloader I would have passed.
No dice on the bootloader. I emailed moto have heard nothing. No mhl no ucb c hub to hdmi . Its unfortunite i love this phone aside from that. Maybe if we bug the heck out of moto they will add it to there bootloader unlock. It worked for older vzw moto z devices. In other news I went to vzw paid $200 for the projector mod. A little disappointed. Not bright enough. At close distance maybe max of 40" its pretty decent. Only on a white surface with lights off.
detects charging, but doesn't actually charge
At least that's what the usb-c "charging bridge" I tried did. I am very disappointed, I can use the OTG keyboard and mouse through the usb-c adapter, the charge indicator came on... but no charge.. The battery ran down.
Is this what you found? I only tried one adapter.
I also discovered the moto Z4 is the only Android I've ever found a wired Xbox compatible controller to not work on OTG, the device shows up as a usb device but isn't recognized as a controller on this phone. ???

This may not be the place but I haven't seen a debloat thread specific to the z4. I ordered one today after the sammy a50 didn't support 1x or 3g. I've only owned a droid x, s3, and s5 cid15. All rooted and with custom roms. But I'm afraid no root or unlocked bootloader for the z4.
Even so, I know you can uninstall or disable apps for the current user on the device through adb. Have you guys done any debloating of the verizon crap thats installed on the z4 from vzw?
I'm sure it can be done with adb but I'm not sure how effective it is.. My understanding is that the user you uninstall the apps for will no longer load or run for that user.
One other question is can this device be themed with andromeda since it's fairly close to aosp from what I've read. If not can it be themed at all. Thanks all for your assistance.
So my 8 year old daughter broke her chromebook last week. Her class uses Google classroom for homework and more recently home learning etc. To save some money I picked up a Fire HD 8 for her in the Black Friday Sale for just over £50 and have already used toolobox to make it more stock android like, and installed the playstore and then google classroom. TBH for such a cheap tablet I'm really impressed and it's actually faster than her chromebook was, that cost £200 last year. I also have an old bluetooth mouse and keyboard which I've paired with tablet with no issues.
I did originally think that having a USB C would mean that I could plug into the HDMI port on her TV, but having read the forums I can see this isn't supported which is really annoying. I was wondering if this is a hardware issue, or is it the firmware? If firmware, has anyone looked into enabling this? Alternatively, is there a way of mirroring the screen to her tv. It has a firestick plugged into it.
If I had known this before hand I would have opted for the 10 inch screen for her. Serves me right for impulse buying i guess, but if anyone can help at all, I would be really grateful.

You can use Chromecast to cast your Fire tablet screen into a TV with Chromecast built-in. Or use TeamViewer to remotely display your Fire tablet screen on your big screen Windows PC.
There is zero support for this garbage tablet SM-T290. It is impossible to root It is impossible to unlock the bootloader and even when you do this stupid thing still won't charge while having a thumb drive attached with an OTG cable. This tablet is the most useless POS I've ever seen!! I have lost a month of my life to this stupid thing.
I will ask here to see if anyone can recommend anything else. I need
8 inch
Low cost (I need 20 of them)
Android 10
Must work with an OTG cable.
I just got the SM-T290 for casual home use. I unlocked the bootloader and flashed the Nexus 10.0 custom rom on it within a few hours.
I've been doing some searching for 8" tablets and it doesn't look like there's a market for them anymore. Everything I'm finding is 10" except for Fire Tablets.

How are you trying to charge with a USB OTG cable attached? Does the cable allow 2 devices attached?

I had the Nexus 7 with timur's kernal for automotive installs it was cyanogenmod. I collected a bunch of otg Y cables because they worked like gangbusters. I also purchased a "lava otg silmucharge charger" for almost $100 and this didn't work either. I can either hook up a HDD or charge, it will not do both
