I am getting 9 to 10 hours of SOT on S7 Edge
10 hours SOT? I call BS unless you just sit with it doing nothing all day
I can get 9 hours SoT without any mod just using WhatsApp and very light usage, leaving the screen on when I'm not using it

Unfortunately that's what some people do all day and say they get 9 hours of sot, i was lucky to get 5h once, now its between 3-4h tops, still better than all my previous phones.
The procedure the op posted sounds interesting since its not the normal "turn sync off and lower brightness" bull****, pity i haven't rooted my phone yet.

Yea I did that test once in the battery thread and some troll got his knickers in a twist, even though I explained it was exactly for that test, not for real world SoT with normal usage, can't fix stupid though
I average 5-6 SoT hours normal usage
Removing the apps etc mentioned in the OP wouldn't double SoT anyway

A lot of people have reported back with increased battery time. I am getting 10 hours SOT on S7 Edge
Increased is one thing, doubled is another, I can increase my SoT a number of ways
You should mention "Edge" in your OP
Personally I`ll wait for all the reports coming in from other people before I believe it

Well that's not doubled then is it? I get 6 hours SoT with my S7 flat, the Edge has much better battery life than the flat already, so that would mean you were getting 5 hours SoT prior to this 'tweak', less than an S7 flat?

You don't own an Edge, I do and majority of people are getting 5 hours SOT on S7 Edge. I did a poll for 2 weeks before posting this guide

Yep, because your claims are absurd, it will not double your SoT, only a bigger battery could manage to give you 100% extra battery life, not app tweaks

The only way you have possibly seen such a drastic improvement, is because the S7 Edge should have been getting 7-8 hours anyway, you deleted a rogue app or service that was causing battery drain, and now you have normal S7 Edge battery life (Along with leaving your screen on doing nothing with the phone to improve SoT)

Google Play Services have a lot of wakelocks and you don't own an S7 Edge to say that it lasts 7 Hours SOT. As i said earlier i did a survey before releasing this guide and majority of the people said they got 5 hours SOT max.

Hey guys! How is your One+ behaving? Does it sleep like a baby? mine does depending on the moment. usually I do not get more than 85% of deep sleep. Do you think it is normal? Phone wakes up randomly when it should be in deep sleep. Let's share our thoughts about this.
My OP5 arrived on Tuesday this week.
Charged it and did a basic set-up the next morning. Left the phone on, and went to work. Returned home about 10 hours later and the phone drained from 100% --> 94%
But like I say, that was just a basic set-up. As soon as I install FB, etc... I can see more battery drainage occurring.
U gotta edit some kernel settings to turn off some wakelocks. Or wait for franco.

It's similar for me now. I used to use a foreign sim card and I thought that the drain was due to it. Now I have a sim from the current country I am living in and it's exactly the same, so I do not know if there is any problem or the people who say that have 7 hours SOT lie.

I actually have gotten 7 hours almost. 3 mins shy. I applied my usual settings and this sot is with 9 and a half hours idle time.

I think that I could do it, but if I have 24 hours idle time my SOT time is going to be 5 hours, more or less. I think it is not bad.

Yea because if you use your phone on and off its gonna wait a while before it stops the cpu so more battery will consume itself to fuel that. You can't expect perfection on a lith ion battery

yes, anyway, I think that at some point I will root the **** out of this and will install Franco's kernel when released. Let's see what people have to say about their experience.
Got a new PH-1 coming soon. I'm thinking I'll put it through its paces by installing an alternate ROM from the get-go.
I'm not trying to provoke an argument, but I'd like to hear some reasoned viewpoints on which ROM I should go with for the honeymoon period: stock, Oreo beta, or Lineage?
It's been a while since I've had a phone that was getting a lot of attention from devs, so I feel spoiled for choice.

I have tried and confirm all room are working very well, I'm using Oreo now. If you want some more tweak you can try Lineage, for example you can double home icon to turn off screen with Lineage.
Lineage is great, but trying PacRom now and it is buttery smooth with amazing battery life and tons of features.

I am using the Oreo beta with no issues. Phone has been unplugged since 8am, and after 8.5 hours I am still at 93%, so not bad at all. That time includes a few phone calls. I have BT on, and don't see any weird drain...

how so? my SOT is 3 hours vs 6 hours
I didn’t say screen on time. One of the complaints of the beta is battery drain from bt even when idle, and I am not seeing it.
With last official rom i have 7h sot And i have next 20% (brightness) 60% i have hw revision 1.8 i havent got problem with signal always 103- 105 dBm lte+ in Czech it is realy best phone i ever have better then iphone or galaxy s7
Honestly, I play a lot of clash Royale and there's this bug where nothing I do with all the custom ROMs that keeps it from the camera notch obstructing the game and a bottom black bar is added. Even with adjusting it in extended display mode it doesn't work. This keeps me away from the custom ROMs. I've asked people about it and they say they dont have a problem with it, but I think they're lying or dont play full screen games or video

Did you happen to read the date that was posted?
I would do the Oreo Beta myself...been using it with little or no issues. I'm not a heavy screen user most of the time, so I wake up with a full charged battery and go to bed 12-16 hrs later with well over 85% battery most days. The latest build of Oreo (OPM1.180104.092) seems to be quite well behaved.

I just saw the thread where people posted their SOT, 8, 9 hours...? I can barely get 4, and that's if I'm on WiFi... The phone for me barely lasts a day? With far from heavy usage. I have tried various ROM/Kernel configurations but nothing helps. Currently I am using AEX and that's what I got yesterday (see attachment). Stock OOS is similar if not worse... I am soo frustrated about this issue. Could anyone point me towards what I am doing wrong? Battery stats don't show me anything wrong, I use normal apps like Facebook, Snapchat etc and they don't drain that much battery according to the stats. What could it possibly be?

Thanks for the reply but I tried BBS, Accubattery and I'm currently trying Gsam, but none have showed me anything particularly wrong. It's just the percentage that goes down really fast

Sorry to say, but Screenshots are not a dump file. Also you have nearly 1h screen on time, that's too much.
Please read the linked thread about bbs and repeat the recording of a dump file according to the instructions in the first post.

Excellent idle drain of 0.5%/h, nothing to complain about. It's like mine. There's nothing to investigate imo.

I'm actually so surprised, it's the end of the day and I've gotten a very stable 3.5%/h on mixed usage.
Best battery life I've got since buying the phone over a year ago

I've just gone back to a much more routine lifestyle (summer is over) and so my phone followed suite, I don't use it so much during the day and the average drain of a whole day of small usage is 3-4% an hour which is great for me! However, whenever I start using is when things get out of hand, the usage shoots up to 20+% an hour. Very strange as it is obviously not a wakelock problem but a screen problem? Okay I don't have a 100% black substratum theme but I mean. The phone is designed to handle colours haha

Usage drain is nearly impossible to compare or analyze. But 20%/h is too much for op5 imp. Even with gaming.

Wakelocks are not dangerous in general. And Google play services are essential for majority of your communication.
Without a dump file like before its not possible to track down any issues to Google play services. And if you don't have a higher drain, it's just the observation of the wakelock.
good news! Someone at xiaomi reddit directory said the version 12.0.3.0 fixed their battery problem.
so i bit the bullet and installed, and bingo!
2% batery use in 6 hours of sleep! (200mah consumption)
no other changes made. rooted, unlocked, gazillions of apps installed (and fully xiaomi-debloated)
will test SOT now
I have mixed results, I've update to this version 2 weeks ago, I'm on Pilot Program (Beta tester) and for few day got a better batter performance in idle, but then some Xiaomi Apps were updated and the drain started . Notice I'm using the alpha version for the launcher and also I'm using the last version for the App Vault. So I'm not sure if one of this apps caused the drain. 2 days ago I've update some apps and idle consume improved a lot. Share with us your SOT.
i got almost all xiaomi-related apps removed/disabled, only staying essential ones for proper android usage.

2% should be 80maH, 5% equals 200mah if capacity is 4000, less if battery is used

i think percentage right after unplug is not consistent (stay a while at 100%) and below show a different % usage from main battery %

but calculating by the mah, is 5 days in stand-by :laugh:
before, android system alone would consume entire battery in 3 days
testing SOT, full battery, started a 2 hour movie. mxplayer, HW decoding, max brigthness, high volume
2 hour later, 78% battery.
so, most likely, 8~9h SOT, at least in this test. will test more when i get free time from work.
Edit: 2h20m using reddit, medium screen brigthness, 20% battery decrease
will let run 1080p youtube video running fullscreen (at half brightness) until battery is dead

12.0.3 definitely fixed the issue to some extent for me as well. Much better than the previous version. But Android system still consumes the highest power.

For 12.0.3 there are only IN and MI, for EU (EEA) 12.0.2 from Jul 21 is still the latest there and on the other download sites
I still have a problem with android sistem.
I had the firmware installed on Tuesday with lineageos, of course. Just 20% less in 24 hours, the most used app is the internet browser (7%), calls (3%), GPlay services (2%), conversations (2) Trebuchet (1%). with 12.0.2.0 I had similar results, with 12.0.3.0 I would say a little bit better, but minimal.

yes. i flashed the recovery rom (with TWRP get the recovery rom) then flashed the boot.img patched by magisk (extracted from the rom zip file) and worked fine
installed directly over the 11.0.6.. only wiped cache/dalvik
all apps still works fine.
