MTP not working - Lenovo A6000/Plus Questions & Answers

Hello everyone.
My phone's MTP is not working at all. I tried more than one PCs.
Stages of my phone's MTP functionalities have changed like:
1. Some months ago, It worked well.
2. At some point of time, It stopped working in OS. Worked in TWRP AFTER wiping data, system etc. Once installed OS and booted, it again stopped working.
3. This time while installing a ROM, MTP didn't work even after I wiped system, data, etc. I somehow managed to install ROM with my friend's memory card. (I don't have one, as I'm ok with 16 GB). One more thing, fastboot works properly, adb(via USB) doesn't.
Any help will be appreciated!

It's usually a Driver Issue, make sure the device drivers are installed properly

Cannot mount phone as disk drive

This was working as early as last night. But now I cannot mount the phone and have the computer recognize it as a drive. I've swapped SD cards, formatted cards, wiped and reinstalled roms etc..
Tried other computers etc..
Is there a setting in recovery?
This all started when I flashed a fresh install using recovery 3.xxxx I've since flashed back to a 2.5 version.
However I've done the same thing on another MT4G and it connects to the computer fine...
???
Same sort of thing happened to me. I was able to use ADB still, but couldn't mount the SD card. I ended up doing the following:
- Flashed the recovery I wanted (3.0.0.6) and did a full system wipe.
- With phone plugged in, went to Control Panel >> Device Manager, and uninstalled all the drivers. Easiest way was to right-click on "Composite USB Device" and click uninstall.
- Unplugged phone and ran a program that fixes problems and errors in the registry.
- Rebooted my computer.
- Went to recovery, wiped data, wiped cache, wiped dalvik, and flashed CM7 again (because I had tried flashing back to a Froyo ROM and it didn't help).
- Plugged phone into comp and let it install the drivers.
Now it works fine. I have no idea what caused it, and I spent half the afternoon yesterday trying to make it work.

Only problem is I'm on a MAC... I have no idea how to get a 'device manager' on the MAC..
This is so frustrating as my other mT4g is working fine.
Can anyone give me a list of things to try?
Mac user
I've tried different cables, a different mac and a windows PC.
My other MT4G works fine in drive mode using the same cables, and alternate computers.
I'm rooted, first using the easy root method then using the gfree method on top.
I'm running gorilla sense 2.3
I've factory reset, wiped cache, wiped dalvik cache, facotry reset again, then installed a fresh sense 2.3 rom-- no luck.
I erased my SD card. No luck.
I put a copy of the original SD card back on and no luck. (thought maybe it was a driver on the SD card)
I have no clue what to do next.
The phone charges when connected.

[Solved] MTD driver installation issues

My tablet is running CM10.1 and TWRP is on it. Past a few common issues, nothing a bit of research hasn't fixed. I can't find what went wrong on this issue. Everything was peachy last week and all drivers worked. I rooted the tablet last month.
Now I can't see the tablet on (2 machines) Windows 7 64bit and I keep getting error code 10 while trying to get the MTP driver in. Both machines give the same error code. On all 18 USB ports, front and rear.
I suspect there is an EBKAC here, but everything I've tried has ruled that out.
Steps taken to fix the driver issue:
rollback via restore, both driver rollback and (wizard) full OS restore
Installed Android SDK - used the USB driver
found driver package on forums
allowed auto-find in Windows hardware wizard
Installed Asus Sync package
manually removed drivers in device store and edited the registry hives - Allowed to rebuild
created a voodoo doll for the ghost of Scooby Doo and danced nekkid in the snow
The tablet shows in device manager, while in camera mode. But not showing storage drives (in Explorer.) In MTP mode it fails to load driver - No drivers = nothing shows in Explorer..
An update, for those in the future users who may find this thread and seek a solution. Sorry about 2xposting. I feel a double post is best, instead of an OP edit.
I did get the issue resolved, but I wiped the device twice and it somehow started to work. Not sure of the cause, or giving an actual known solution. I'm pretty sure I got lucky, by trial and error. Following normal documented troubleshooting on xda. I will share the steps that I took. Which helped get it working.
Here is what I did:
I did all the wiping I could in the latest (contemporary) TWRP. Minus formatting anything.
Used my recovery image of choice, via TWRP and reinstalled it. Let the device settle for 20 minutes after it fully rebooted. (I connected via wireless [n300] @72mbps)
I confirmed it connected and detected.
I rebooted the device into recovery mode and entered TWRP again. Wiping everything I could. Minus formatting anything. I then installed the build I wanted, in this case: CM10.1, sans gapps.
I let the device settle for 20 minutes after it fully rebooted.
I was then able to successfully connect the device. Via the usual means of getting the Asus MTP driver in. Once this milestone was achieved. I then installed gapps. Explorer now shows as expected and I can resume on with other niggling issues for the device.

[SOLVED] Nexus 4 won't recognize SIM, after installing ROMs

Hello, I have a problem with my Nexus 4.
Everything was working fine (Even the SIM card) under a MIUI ROM, obtained from the MIUI port team of XDA. I wanted to install Ubuntu Phone, so I wiped everything.
When I say everything, is everything: Cache, Data, Dalvik... And I formated everything too: System, Data, Sdcard... So the problems started. I wasn't able to flash the phone to go back to stock, with the Nexus Rootkit. I installed the 1.6.6, the last version, and after many attemps I have now a fully customizable phone again, which is able to go back to stock or to a custom ROM, if I want.
The problem is that the SIM is not working. I'm trying to flash to 4.2.2 Stock again (because I've tried it two times) to see if it fixes the problem, but I guess that again, it won't.
So, any ideas?
Thank you very much indeed.
EDIT: The 4.3 update arrived and it fixed the problem automatically.

Updated to Oreo, bootloop, restored Nougat, now no Wi-Fi / fingerprint / SDcard

OnePlus 5 128GB, running OOS 4.5.15, rooted with Magisk 15.1, tried updating to latest OTA (Oreo), ended up bricking the phone, unbricked it, restored Nougat + backups of /data and /sdcard, now everything works except WiFi (stays on "turning on..."), fingerprint sensor (only works as home button) and sdcard isn't readable (I can only list files, but when I try to read or write I get EACCES.
Tried flashing latest firmware+modem, didn't work.
Tried wiping system/data/storage and flashing Nougat again, in the "first setup" page it was able to list WiFi networks but couldn't connect (stayed on "saved, secure").
Now I reloaded all my backups so I have an almost working phone, but without internal storage I can't do much. I can't take pictures, can't download files, can't play games (obb is on internal storage).
It worked fine before the update so it can't be a hardware problem, and even, it would be surprising that both the WiFi antenna, the fingerprint sensor and the eMMC card stop working at the same time.
Also worth mentioning that I can write to internal storage without any problems from TWRP.
Note: I already tried PeterGuru's guide, Wi-Fi still doesn't work (it just doesn't turn on).
Note #2: Wi-Fi and fingerprint aren't that much of a problem right now. The main problem is inability to READ or WRITE internal storage. It basically prevents a bunch of things from working. Also I tried flashing different firmwares and modems.
Forget about any backups or such dor the minute and do a complete fresh install. Follow the steps as per the other thread you mentioned and get the phone up and running properly to start with.
As I said I already tried doing a fresh install ( = wiping data+storage+system and flashing a fresh OOS ROM, without restoring any of my backups so I get a "clean" installation), and every time, in the "first boot" stage you get when you power the phone on, at the "Wi-Fi" step it can list the networks but not connect (neither DHCP nor static IP, tried on multiple networks even ones without passwords). I tried flashing Nougat and Oreo ROMs. Neither had Wi-Fi working. Right now, I restored the Nougat one and restored my backups so I can at least send messages and GSM calls because that's what I need the most right now.
I'm slowly starting to lose any hope of getting a working phone (as before I tried updating). Is it possible at all?

Follow the tutorial on Peter's topic that you will get your wi-fi back. I had the same problem.
Download this files (Oreo Open Beta 2 and TWRP 3.2.1 Official, you can find in his topic)
With the TWRP you are currently using, wipe everything (data, system, cache, dalvik cache and internal storage) and format data
Restart your device in fastboot and flash the official TWRP 3.2.1 .Again wipe everything and format data
Restart for recovery and copy OP 2 to internal storage and then flash
Restart the system and get your wifi back
I preferred to stay on OP2, but you can return to Nougat.
Well, the best way to fix it - flash stock recovery, wipe everything, and then reboot to recovery > select adb, connect to pc and flash with command in cmd : adb sideload name_of_firmware.zip
Thats will make you happy

Computer doesn't recognize phone.

I started having issues with my phone and tried to fix them. The problem was simple. The sensors stoped working. First I tried a hard reset (didn't work). Installed Lineage OS. Didn't fix the issue and made some errors form the install. Tried the stock ROM. I tried two of them with the first one I discovered that it was a problem with the firmware of the sensors. The I tried an older version thinking that the firmware wouldn't be compatible and that it would work better. (I'm not entirely sure but I think it was this version MPD24.65-18.1)
The installation went well without problems. The firmware was (again) downgraded (and later upgraded without asking permission). The big issue is that my phone now is unable to connect with the computer. When I plug it it starts to charge but nothing more happens. The computer isn't aware that it has anything plugged (according to the ports). So I cannot run adb and cannot change anything on the phone. I tried to install from a SD card on the recovery mode but I think I'm not doing it as it should. I plug the card and run the updater from the SD. The first thing that is odd is that it actually displays the internal memory. And then when I run either a OTA.zip or a compress of a build named PG86IMG.zip I get a verification error.
I do not know what to do. I would like either to have working sensors or the 7.1.1 version.
