Hi all,
I hope this is the right forum for this, I am quite new to android / linux kernel stuff.
I've trying to get LineageOS 14.1 (konstakang.com/devices/rpi3/CM14.1/) running on a Raspberry Pi 3 and it's going quite well, but I have small issues with distorted screens.
This is the basic set up:
- Raspi3 with LineagoOS 14.1
- 800x600 screen (DLC0800BIG, 8") using HDMI Connector
- FT5406 Touchscreen
What I did already:
- changed the resolution from 800x480 to 800x600 in build.prop which was the main improvement
- played around with different raspi hdmi_modes (/boot/config.txt), but they dont really seem to have an impact
- wrote/adapted touch driver
What's not working:
I think the screenshots / photos illustrate it best.
1. Difference between screenshot using adb screencap and what's actually seen on the screen

2. When loading any app sideway stripes
3. Switch between Apps
4. Flickering line (salt and pepper noise)
All these issues do not happen on a differen OS (Raspian, Ubuntu) and the 2. does not happen with the original raspi resolution 800x480 so I am reasonably hopeful it's just some small setting somewhere that doesn't match.
Thanks for reading,
Dominik

hi all
Recently got an M700 and am loving it. Since discovering this place I've been amazed at what customisations you can do, and with flashing to WM6 using AX3L's fantastic ROM, getting TomTom6 working, and a few choice other apps to allow FTP etc., i've now got a device that does pretty much everything I could ask of it anywhere! (Probably matter of time till I brick it though...).
What I am missing though, is a decent VNC client (although I've used the RDP client semi-successfully).
I've searched for 'VNC' but no joy - surely that can't be the case when there's so much other stuff available? or is the search function not liking the term...?
thanks for a great forum & resource
Did you see the posts re zoomVNC on PocketPC Thoughts? Looks nice!

i have now
thanks - looks excellent
i guess there's others out there i couldn't search for too!
For me the best is PTPocketOffice.
It was recommended by Menneisyys:
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1572&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
It consumes a lot less data than the others VNC.
It's fast.
It has fullscreen.
It can be used one handed.
The server side can resample the pictures to make it smaller (less data and better image than if it was done by client side).
The only minor thing I'd like to see improved is their proprietary softkeyboard. why not using the system keyboard? I don't want to use a new keyboard with each of my apps...
that's a great article
i hadn't thought to even try logmein until reading it there, i'd assumed that with their remote screens always being slightly fuzzy and smaller it mightn't be great - wow, was i wrong!
just tried logging onto a client's SBS server and the screen scaling and rotation together make it nearly as useable as a standard desktop! the screen scrolling at the side of the screen is a great interface! there'll be occasions where i need VNC, but for know i think I've got a favoured solution
Not being able to find a car-holder that would hold my Touch Pro in widescreen
with the keyboard extended firmly and still allow for a power-cable,
I designed this car-holder.
It ataches to anything that can carry a camera (1/4") and to the slide-in car.holders
from HAMA (they sell suction cups, air-hole -attachments, glue-ons and screw-ons).
You can attach the supplied and wider third-party cabless, reach the power-button
and it even comes with a hole to keep yout touch-pen.
If anyone wants one of these,
I can print them for 35eur+postage on my 3D-printer.
Marcus

Any chance I could get the .stl file? I'd like to use it with my schools 3D printer.

You don´t seem to have that printer for a long time yet to not know http://www.thingiverse.com/
It´s the first place to look for the STL-files of things ment to be printed.
Didn't think to look there. I thought you would've posted a link in here, but oh well.
Thanks!
IGES or STEP
Hi, is it possible to get a IGES or STEP File from you. I want to make one at Work, but from aluminum, with a CNC Mill.
My CAD/CAM Software takes STL files, but import of STL is not the best. It works better with IGES or STEP.
At the moment I am working on a Desktop Dokingstation, its not ready but will be in a short period of time. Will post it here.
Like this?
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2195
It´s the original Alibre Design files.
With milling you´d have to work very deep in the material without your toolhead touching the sides
and you certainly have to run multiple faces. I don´t think that will work well.
I´m using my Touch Pro only for development now that I switched to the Nexus One.
I have to say that it pretty cool stuff. Nice work Marcus. What cool times we live in when you can design and fab your own accessories for your phone. Thanks for sharing.
Hello friends,
I've been using this phone for two years now and it was not bad until recently when touch screen started to misfunction, especially in lower third of the screen, making it impossible to type meny buttons and use keyboard correctly. Since then, I have properly flashed several ROMs, even cooked ones from this forum (btw, I find them very neat) but the problem persist in wide range:
- with some ROMs it get stucked on Screen alignment;
- even if "Remote Screen Alignment" tool was used, it didnt' help with most ROMs;
- Some ROMs like
_HTC Touch 3G_RUU_Jade_Orange_FR-B2B_1.71.73.11_Radio_Sign_12.36.30.29.UMA_0.29.30.U23_Ship
and
sj1.2.2-wwe_ultralite&clean (thanks to developers and uploaders)
pass well the screen alignment, but after short walk through Menu it starts again to be unprecise and makes use of keyboard and other impossible!!!
So, just before I grab my hammer and pulverize this dear and beloved Windows phone, is there ANYONE who can give me an advice here?
Thanks to all of you and keep developing, because you're doing a great deed for the people worldwide.
Cheers from France
Mais oui, mon ami. The problem lies with the digitizer, meaning the device which converts your screen touches to digital information. It's the phone's plastic screen cover, to be more precise. Either take your phone to a GSM service to have yours replaced, or buy a new one from e-bay and change it yourself, if you're a DIY kind of guy.
This is how the digitizer looks:

}
Multumesc prietenului meu!
I thought it could be a hardware failure, because we just can't blame it on software every time.
Funny, but I think I didn't wear-out this digitizer that much in the past, but maybe their lifetime is not as long as three years?
I remember this Jade fell of the table once, so maybe it could be some bad connection?
I also took your advice and googled a bit for shopping results and it seems that there are TWO different sorts of displays and digitizers for the same model of HTC Touch 3G Jade T3232. This means that I should open up the phone prior to purchase of this spare part.
I promise to post here the result of this "surgical operation" once I get it done.
Thanks again
Hello All,
Sad to report that the display of my mako started dying :crying:

Looks like this is the end of my mako after 6.5 long years :good: I'll always miss this awesome phone :good: It introduced me to the world of android (yes, that was my first android phone) and I learnt a lot about android and learnt about building and maintaining custom ROMs.
Regards,
Nitin
On one of my two N4s, I had an inactive area in the center of the screen. After uploading CARBON-CR-6.1-NOCT-WEEKLY-mako-20180501-1310.zip the screen has been repaired. I was surprised.
Since then I do not change ROM on this phone anymore. I tried to load this ROM on my second N4, with an inactive area at the bottom, but it did not help.
Is it possible to adjust (decrease or increase) the voltage of the touch screen electric current?
P.S.
You can still use a limited range of such a phone after pairing with a BT mouse and/or MyPhoneExplorer.

That's interesting to know that carbon helped you. On my case, it's already running latest version of carbon
Apart from touch screen, the power button is also giving up. I've to let it go...

Do you know the answer to my question from the previous post?
I'm trying to understand why the touch started working.

Hello dear friends, im new on forum so hello to everyone!
As in the title, I would like to change the interface of the device and use another (for example car launcher) The problem is that this device is divided into 3 separate screens (I put a picture in the post) But the left screen is completely unchanged, when I run Car Launcher it appears only on the middle and right screen, the left screen remains the same. Junsun Customer Service obviously can't help me (who would expect that ) and this interface overlay from them works just very poorly (Resets date, time, settings). Is there any way to modify the device? I saw one thread on forums where user wrote about rooting this device, so I think it could be modified somehow. I'm counting on you fam!

Hello, could you finally modify this interface?
Another question. Is the G-sensor accesible for other apps such an inclinometer? I.e. if I install an inclinometer app or an app to measure lateral-G, would they work?
Thank you in advance and happy new year!
