Disable Auto Update G950u? Software Update Postponed - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

I searched, but couldnt find anything.
All I want to do is get rid of the Software Update Postponed notification in the shade, and get it off the lockscreen. Is this possible without root?
I have turned off auto updates in developer options but do not know what other settings I need turned on.
Running G950U1UEU2AQK2

Battery won't let me update?

When I received the update it's saying it won't allow me to update due to insufficient battery. Postponed it for an hour to let it charge but same thing. I tried to look for it in System > Software update but didn't find that option. Anyone going through this also? Thanks
I had the same problem to but I just restarted my phone and everything was ok.
Btw, I just narrated that with the voice recognition. I noticed a button on swype for voice now. I'm really liking this update! Gps worked flawlessly, the task manager they implemented is very nice too. Am I noticing a bit of a speed increase as well?

Did you find the option to manually update it yourself? Or had to wait til the time you postponed it to? I just restarted my phone.

[Q] Multiple (different) System Update notifications

Hi,
I've had the 4.4.2 System Update notification since it was pushed to the Nexus 4 (but haven't "upgraded" since it might brick my phone and the new features are not compelling), and, as many people have mentioned, I would like to get rid of it, but can't. However, that isn't my question - yesterday another System Update notification showed up, but the icon is slightly different and I was not aware of any new updates being pushed. I've searched online for new updates and nothing has come up. Has anyone else gotten this? I haven't clicked on it because I don't know what it is and I certainly don't want to update the OS. I realize I haven't done any troubleshooting, but I was just hoping to see if anyone else has this.
Thanks,

'Do not disturb until next alarm' option gone

So I was about to enable Do Not Disturb mode till next alarm like I do everyday and I found that option is gone. Rebooted it twice and the option is still missing. No clue what's wrong. Am I the only one?
Im running completely stock 6.0.1

Many reports online of this same thing happening to others. Do a Google search or check out any android or xda related twitter account and you'll find them.

Hmm. So it's widespread as per various reports and it started happening just today. I use this feature everyday and it was there till yesterday night. And it's reportedly happening only on devices running 6.0.1.
Woah, AP picked up the news too.

Looks like the bug is gone after the 1st of January:
According to Android Police:
After a little feedback from our commenters, we've found that 1) the problem is affecting more than just Android 6.0.1, going all the way back to 5.1 in some cases, and 2) it's possible to work around it. If you turn off the automatic date function in the Android settings menu and return the date to something either before December 25th or after January 1st, the Until Next Alarm option returns.
That would seem to indicate that this is definitely a bug, and it should return to everyone on New Year's Day. Google will probably patch it in the next incremental release.
Nexus 6.0.1 MMB29Q + root SuperSu 2.66 + xposed 80.
The feature is not there. Tried to bring back dates in airplane mode but didnĀ“t work.

Android 5.1.1 is here (according to website)

According to the Verizon website, LMY47X.N910VVRU2BOK3 or android 5.1.1 is finally here. I haven't recieved it yet but here it is on the site.
I apologize for my English, I am writing this whilst walking through the halls.
EDIT: So far, the phone runs smoothly and the battery life seems to be much better. I will edit as I use the device more.
If this is true this made my day lol
Yep, its true. I looked at verizons update page as well. Anxiously awaiting them to open the flood gates so we can update!
IIRC, they usually open up the OTA floodgates around noon-2PM EST on the day of the announcement. Or rather, there's usually a 12-14 hour delay after the post the announcement to when you are able to pull it manually. Though sometimes Kies beats everyone else to the punch. I am still shocked that this is rolling out. I hope it's a ROCK SOLID update because I have a feeling we won't see Marshmallow for the Note 4 for another 6-7 months (if at all).
The update is live. Im downloading right now
Nice!! Me too
Downloading it now.
Where?, when?, how? :crying:
I just checked, upgrade available, downloading now on my unlimited data getting f'd by Verizon
hey btw anyone who installs... first off, is recent apps not laggy anymore? my mom's note 5 is instant and that's on 5.1.1. also, did they change the dpi? her status bar icons are much smaller.. better for the big screen!

Installing now. Wonder if this update will be good enough to pull me away from my Droid Turbo 2?

Note 5 has more ram, a better SoC and the 5.1.1 software was built from the ground up for it, not an update. I will let you know how it performs, I'm installing it now.
Edit: Still got that terrible red boot screen
Edit2: Everything seems to be running a touch smoother and responding a bit quicker. It seems to match my DT2 in a lot of actions now.
Edit3: Antutu score 52710 (3d:10178 UX:19595 CPU:18521 RAM:4416). No benchmarks on 5.0 My DT2 gets a 67998 (3D:24801 UX:24185 CPU:15592 RAM:3420)
Got it. Will download when at home
Ugh, that annoying "Wifi is connected" constant notification. Does anybody know how to get rid of it?
Oh and they didn't remove all references to AT&T. LOL
This update is so smooth already. Wow. I was incredibly fed up with how slow my phone has been lately. Hopefully this fluidity will last.

Try going to Settings, Wi-Fi, tap the three lines to the right of the 'on/off' switch, tap Advanced, and uncheck Wi-Fi Notifications. That should keep the notifications from popping up at the top of the screen.

That does not work. Mine was already unchecked
You can swipe it away. It won't come back till you reconnect to the Wifi.
Edit: Never mind, they changed it. You could swipe it away in 5.0.
I have never done a factory reset in the 1 year + I have owned this, don't feel like setting up everything again, I may go ahead and do this just to be safe.
At least on mine, the recent apps delay is pretty much gone and hitting it is instantaneous.. And knock on wood, the device is running pretty smooth..

N950USQU1AQIA Update 9/25

Just got updated to N950USQU1AQIA, looks like the August Security patch. Any word on what else might be in this rollout?
I got it at as well. I didn't see a changelog but it was larger then the other carrier updates I believe it was over 200mb.
Just updated too. Don't know the details though...
Just updated as well.
Noticed my device status went from Official to Custom and then back to Official. WTH?
Probably pretty much what T-Mobile got in their update. Stability improvements and all that.
Mine was already on August security patch before I took the update so definitely wasn't that. It just said performance improvements from what I could see
I noticed I can now log in to best buy without the browser crashing so that's an improvement. I can now delete their crappy app lol!
Got the update, any of you use bxactions to remap the button? Does it still work?

I just got it on my AT&T Note 8
All I've been able to locate on this update is that there were some improvements to the camera software, wireless charging optimizations, and possibly a fix for the BlueBorne vulnerability. I'm not able to find a full changelog at all.
I think this is to fix Samsung Pay error "Failed to connect to server. Try again later".
I just got the update too (220.93 MB). I already had the August security patch/update.
As soon as I got this update I was also able to now update Bixby to latest version that allows you to disable to Bixby Home on short press. Before this update Bixby would say I was running the latest version but the new option was not there, and settings menu was old format, now it matches what's on this thread:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS8/comments/71bj0s/you_can_now_disable_bixby_button_presstohome/
Same here just noticed the bixby update
I noticed that I put my Note 8 on the wireless charger and it started updating Bixby. Shortly after all the Bixby updates, I checked for a system update and there was one, but I had to wait for my battery to charge a little. So, I don't know if the ability to use the new Bixby was really contingent on me getting the update or not. I did check and after the update, I am not vulnerable to the blueborne hack. I don't know if I was vulnerable before, but I can say I am not since I checked after the update.

This is what I wanted the most and now running Armis BlueBorne scanner, it is showing the device is safe, which is wasn't previously.
Definitely good news as I use a smart watch and BT headphones.
