I just updated to Indian marshmallow firmware. Is it possible to install root and recovery to marshmallow?
you can boot temporary with twrp recovery and install SuperSU 2.62 or install twrp and then SuperSU 2.62
Your guidance give my mxp root and recovery. but renaming without img as twrp and fastboot flash recovery twrp.img command flash the recovery. then flashing supersu via recovery is very easy, and dont install supursu if twrp prompt ask to install.,again thank you very much.
Installed TWRP by OldDroid on Nougat b370
After that, I flashed a SuperSU 2.82
So my phone is rooted now, but whenever I grant permissions to text editor or ES File manager and try to edit system files it says "Read-only system"
How can I edit system files on Nougat?

Hello.
I just found a solution to go to b380 without root.
Can be you can test since l21c432b370.
Downloaded the b380 full ota mf zip.
With huawei extrator retrieved the file. (Boot, system, cust, vendor, version).
Downloaded the toolkit beta and twrp edit de hassans.
So since b370 stock no root.
Install twrp of hassans.
Then went into bootloader mode, connected to the beta toolkit, gone to Unbrick and flash boot.img, system.img and cust.img.
Finished, do not reboot, unplug cable, went to recovery twrp.
Install image, vendor.img and install image version.img.
reboot.
Normally all works. Zero bug.
I just did it on the l31c432b380.I went to b382, then 384 and i got to b388.
For root, I use simo255 root.

Where to get twrp installer.. on official twrp site there is only .IMG file for 3.1.1-0 available
The procedure you have explained is for twrp by Mohan 3.1.1-1 which doesn't seem to work fine for me

twrp 3.1.1-1 (by mohan) working perfect. Use twrp installer from this thread. First ensure that boot image is unmodified . Flash stock boot for your build number and then install twrp as stated above. Unmodified boot image must to install twrp. Then root with magisk to retain ota.

Here is the procedure to root samsung galaxy j7 (2016) or j710fn oreo update 8.1.0:
step1: download latest twrp
step2: flash the latest twrp using odin( please note that before flashing ensure to uncheck the autoreboot options from the option tab, if you dont do that the custom recovery will overwrite to stock recovery after booting into the ROM and you wont find any custom recovery there.)
step3: after flashing download the latest magisk zip or you can do that by using magisk manager also.
step4: place the latest magisk zip in the sd card or ext. sd card( your choice) and then download the latest magsik-defex zip(link down below) and copy it into the sd card.
step5: shut down and now boot into the recovery by pressing vol-up+home+power
step6: now flash the latest magisk, after that flash magisk-defex zip immediately withouth booting into the ROM.
step7: now boot into the ROM download the magisk manager you should find the magisk latest version installed on the device.

Thank you for your sharing. I had to flash no-verity-opt-encrypt after flashing Magisk. In TWRP I chose ReadOnly then wiped Cache and Data then flashed the Magisk and right after flashing it without rebooting, I flashed no-verity-opt-encrypt.
HERE is a link to download the Magisk zip and the NoVerityOptEncrypt
**Please note, the files I have uploaded are the latest BUT updates will be released and my files will be old one day!!**

Hi, I am trying to follow exactly the instructions with the latest builds of TWPR and Magisk but after boot to Rom I always receive this nasty message ''Verification failed'' and I have to install again the 8.1 firmware and start from the beginning to no avail. https://cdn-cf-3.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
- SM- J710FN
- firmware: 710FXXU6CSG2_J710FOJV6CSG1_J710FXXU6CSG3_HOME.tar.md5
- Odin3 v3.13.1
- TWRP: twrp-3.2.1-0-j7xelte.img.tar
- Magisk: Magisk-v19.3
- no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1
I would very much appreciate your ideas...

USE RMM State By pass Instead Of Magisk-defex it worked for me . Thanx 4 the help bro

I have installed latest android 10 stock rom. i tried using the magisk manager patch AP file method. i flashed the patched AP file CP BL and Twrp. tar in userdata on Odin.
TWRP 3.4.0.4 is installed but when i boot it gets stuck on samsung boot animation.
i tried flashing magisk zip from twrp and then it continuous bootloops to the Samsung bootloader image.
Do i root first stock and then install later TWRP?
Can anyone list out a short guide how to root Android 10 and aldo have TWRP with it.
I found the solution as
1. Install stock rom
2. follow root guide 1.0
3. Patch AP file with magisk manager
4. Download TWrRP App from playstore
4. Root stock rom
5 Install Twrp with the method in this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s5e/how-to/instal-twrp-p-c-galaxy-tab-s5e-sm-t720-t4072231.
6. Now I have stock rom rooted with latest twrp.
By the way also fixed device signature modified with magisk prop and busybox module and editing build prop to match device fingerprint error.
