[Solved]Trupurexmm>stock6.0>stock7.0? - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So my xt1575 is on trupurexmm.
Do I need to upgrade to 18-8 found here and using the cmds found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...de-return-to-stock-relock-bootloader-t3489110 to upgrade to Nougat NPH25.200-22 following the instructions found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/general/xt1575-moto-x-pure-edition-factory-t3704142 ???
atm I am downloading 24.49-18-8 and 25.200-22.
Am I wasting bandwidth atm? Can I just upgrade to nougat from trupurexmm or do I need to follow the marshmallow tut to get to nougat?

nvm, I went and took a chance and upgraded nougat over trupurexmm and all went very well.

I took the ota update and bootup has error!

I had fastboot all the files again then lock the bootloader and the phone took the ota without error.

Getting Error Installing Android MM from LP Using ADB SideLoad

I am trying to install Firmware of Marshmallow from Lollipop through ADB sideload and i am getting error saying it cannot be done. I tried flashing CM13 latest version and it also giving error. I think Apr 25th 2016 onwards upgrading from Lollipop to MM need New recovery of MM or TWRP. Now its not working with Apr4th version 3.0.2 TWRP. Anybody please help me....
I think if i get stock recovery file of Marshmallow, it will solve this problem. Anyone who are upgraded to MM though OTA update, please provide me your recovery.img and boot.img files. Thanks for viewing this thread.

Rooted and TWRP on B29. How do get to full stock so I can update to Nougat?

Hi, I have spent about 3-4 hours looking for a way to get my B29 firmware to Nougat.
The only problem is is that the update won't take because im rooted and have TWRP.
My question is what is the easiest and safest way to get my Axon back to full stock rom and recovery so I can then go ahead and download the OTA Nougat Rom? I love this phone and nougat would be killer
do these files help? which ones in which order do I use? i was thinking the B29 to B15 TWRP but I read that there wasn't one made yet.

I was on B29 (actually I had ZAD v3), Rooted and had TWRP installed.....These are the steps I followed. It takes you back to stock B29 with the stock recovery. Then you can take the OTA.
MAKE SURE you follow the first step in RED... Once you booted to TWRP , Tap Mount and Check "Mount, System as Read-only", this is very important ...I skipped that step and my updates kept failing, once I did that it worked.
I'd also recommend a factory reset once the Nougat update completes, or before setting up completely (using the stock recovery)

Can't upgrade or downgrade software on p9lite

First off
I have a vnsL31 p9lite on mm c432b160
Unlocked bootloader and frp
Can flash TWRP, can root, can unroot
Can access fastboot
I have b160 firmware and rollback package
I have b336 update and data hw eu zips
I have the Huawei update extractor
I have Revolution recovery
I have Meticulous recovery
I have EliteKernel
I have the OEM unlock code
I have c432oeminfo zip and oeminfo with a custom.bin
I have hisuite
Phone is working fine
My issue is that I can't upgrade the phone or downgrade the phone to any software at all.
Before my issue I was on b160 and upgraded successfully to b336 and used it for a long time. I then upgraded to b370 using firmware finder successfully. I then wanted to root nougat so I could uninstall some Google apps and tried the EliteKernel method, which didn't work and started going into bootloops. I then tried to downgrade to mm using the rollback package and then flashing b160 which worked successfully.
Then I tried upgrading back to nougat with firmware finder which didn't work, I had missing apps so I did the rollback method again which landed me on nrd90m testkeys. I followed a guide I can't remember to get back to c432 which didn't work either my phone then got bricked. It was stuck on bootloop and vibrated twice each time it tried to go past the Huawei logo. I couldn't access anything but fastboot. I then followed another guide to extract cust, boot, system and recovery images from the b160 update zip and flash those through ADB which worked and have my phone in working order.
My phone now shows build number as vnsl31c432b160 but model number as hi6250. I can't update the phone to nougat or reflash mm to get back to completely stock. Dload 3 buttons method doesn't work for b160 or b336, it goes to 7% then System incompatible error. Flashing the update zips through TWRP doesn't work either, I always get a zip error although it says done but nothing happens.
I want to get back to stock nougat or may even try a custom ROM as long as it is extremely stable. I am willing to root and unroot and do whatever need be to upgrade again. I think I have all the files necessary and should be able to follow any advice given
You must try flashing a OEMInfo for your model and correspondent firmware.. If you want, you can send me a PM with the details of your phone and I'll try to give you the exact files you need to use..
The model is VNS L31, it's dual sim and I'm currently on marshmallow b160 region c432, I bought it carrier unlocked. But the model number shows hi6250 now. I'll try flashing the oeminfo you give me and hopefully it works
This is what I mean, but it is a VNS L31

[HELP] Stock ROM. Want to OTA but gpt.bin is a version ahead of everything else.

Long story short, didn't backup before everything, hard bricked with an OTA, recovered only by blankflashing and flashing the feb2018 gpt.bin (NPJS25.93-14-15) and then since I don't have the ROM for NPJS25.93-14-15, I flashed everything else from NPJS25.93-14-13.
Phone is working. Got TWRP in there, made a backup this time. Installing Magisk softbricks it, but that I'm trying to solve in another thread. Got the backup before trying to install Magisk anyways so I don't make it harder on myself to OTA.
I'd like to be able to do OTA updates, mainly due to the KRACK vulnerability that was solved with NPJS25.93-14-15.
The issue is: how do I get the phone back to the same version on everything? Afaik, I can't downgrade the gpt.bin to NPJS25.93-14-13 (when I try, I get the security downgrade error leading to a remote failure), which means I would have to bring everything to NPJS25.93-14-15 straight up? Can I do that without hardbricking again? As in, flash back the recovery from NPJS25.93-14-13 (the only thing that is not stock is twrp) and straight up do the update ignoring the fact that my gpt.bin is already from the version I will be updating to?
TL, DR Can a phone with NPJS25.93-14-15 gpt.bin and everything else NPJS25.93-14-13 make the OTA update to NPJS25.93-14-15? Can one downgrade gpt.bin somehow?
Did you find a solution for your problem? Maybe it's possible to flash all patched files manually to bring all to NPJS25.93-14-15??
1)If you revert back to NPJS25.93-14-13 fully, you should be okay to use the OTA update to NPJS25.93-14-15. This only will work as NPJS25.93-14-13 is the firmware directly preceding the Feb 2018 update. Using a firmware older than this may well cause a hard brick when you try to OTA update. However, you must fully re-flash or revert to a completely clean stock firmware build - no TWRP, no root etc. Unlocked bootloader does not matter. Easiest way would be to fastboot flash the stock NPJS25.93-14-13 ROM
2)Yeah, generally you cannot downgrade GPT or bootloaders - this is the underlying cause of bricks, as flashing old firmware results in applying old OTA updates, which corrupt your bootloader. However, in this case you're applying an OTA update that is as newer or newer than your existing system, so you should be okay.
3) You could in theory flash the Feb 2018 stock ROM - this is not been fully verified but some users have been able to successfully flash it. Verify this first before flashing: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75961872&postcount=716
4)Rooting on stock Nougat on our devices requires a custom kernel. Attempts to root on the stock Motorola Nougat kernel appears to trip anti-rooting protections and so causes the boot failures you've mentioned. You'll have to flash the stock firmware, apply the update, then flash/boot TWRP, then flash ElementalX (or another custom kernel) then magisk.
Holy cow @echo92, thanks so much for the detailed answer! I'll give this a try and update here with results.

Flash stock firmware on Tab 4 8504F

I have a tab 4 8504f currently on 7.1.1
I cannot get it to update via OTA to Oreo because it was rooted at one point. Currently it is not but the system partition is modified so I cannot flash the OTA.
How do I get back to 100% stock so I can take OTAs - or manually flash Oreo?
Figured it out - was able to use this: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds101291 (Lenovo moto smart assist) to "rescue" my device. By following the instructions it downloaded the 8.1 update and flashed it for me. I am all good now. Easiest way to unroot/restore the system
