Hi Xda teams,
I hope you find well. Recently I bought a good smartwatch: the KingWear Kw18. And she is working very fine. But I saw the website Kingwear going out a new update for my smartwatch. My firmware is just before the latest,. And the new firmware was going out one month after my current firmware. So two questions: How I can upload without brick my smartwatch and with done a backup? And after is there a lot changement between this two versions in spite of they are one month's difference between this 2 firmware?
Thank you for your answer!!!
Hope to have an answer soon.
Bye!!!
Still waiting for my KW18 to be delivered and I will not say that I am right and that this is supose to be done this way, but somewhere I saw a tutorial on how to flash a firmwere using SP Flashtool was is, but I think that the update could be done via the watches app with the help of your smartphone(I am not saing that this is 100% right with the phone method) once I get my hands on my watch and get convinced that they are woth it I will start to test and update and practice the watchface making and so on. But why not try at least and look around the watches app for something like and update option, as the custom watchface is uploaded to the watch via the app, google around aswell, there should be a way without flashtools and drivers....

Sony smartwatch 3 not updating or syncing
Yesterday I got my first android wear smartwatch which is the sony smartwatch 3 from amazon but it is on software version 4.4W and the build number is "tetra-userdebug 4.4W KGW29E 1023 test-keys" and t says its model is "tetra". THe problem is that it doesnt detect any updates (I am pretty certain that lollipop is out for this) and that the android wear app does detect the watch faces i have installed.
UPDATE:
Sony told me to send it in for their "experts" to update it for me. I dont really want to have to do that though

Looks like you have a custom kernel installed. Google or search xda how you can install the latest rom for your sony smartwatch through adb and after that updates should work again in the future!
Good luck:thumbup:

I have tried booth of those methods to try and update my SWR50 but the Sony PC Companion didn't detect my watch and When in ADB Sideload mode my PC stop detecting it. Don't know why. I think I might just return th watch and buy it again
I had the same exact issue, as did many other people. I'll bet yours came from Best Buy, as all others' with this issue. It's a modified or test kernel. There's a thread somewhere that talks about this.

With all the updating going on lately for the YotaPhone I am lost if the Chinese (YD-206) got the update? I mean without the hassle of trying to flash the RU version on it?
If not maybe could you help me find the cheapest YD-201 version? It's be greatly appreciated!
Also another question I had on my mind was how the performance is for simple VR games? I noticed it has Gyroscope and I wanted to use Riftcat and a leap motion to simulate a vive... Maybe use some freetrack with it to get some tracking so i can walk a little too! I don't wanna bore you all with the details but yeah do you guys think it can handle some of the games? I realize that riftcat just streams it from my PC but i'm not sure how intensive that is!
Thanks guys I appreciate it! Also if all works out and I get all that VR stuff going I'll keep you all updated! Again Thank You all so much

The Chinese version is unfortunately stuck on KitKat. Flashing to the RU firmware is not that hard and if it should fail you can always flash back to the Chinesae version.
Yes, I agree , it's easy , put handset in developer mode so your PC can talk to it, then install yotaflasher on the PC, 1 option to download your chosen firmware zip file then another option to flash your handset. If there is something wrong (normally adb drivers) you have not lost anything.
The problems will only start if it does not flash and you have to tinker.
But yes, I recommend that you try to update to the latest release.
Yes Yotaphone works very well with VR games, gets a little hot and uses battery , but so all handsets.
I think even if you buy the yd201 , you may not have an update selection, but I am not sure of this. They usually have a special modified retailer firmware with more languages and stopping updates. A few weeks ago when I ordered my yd206 there were plenty of international yd201s and even some white Yotaphone, but now there fewer.

I think I am convinced too take my chance with the YD-206 now, I was just a little skeptical since I saw some others on the forum having problems trying to get it too RU. But in one of the threads a saw a solution if I can't get it too work by doing it manually.
Hi all, I'm a US user with W09 and would like to get it to Nougat - I have read the entire "Update to EMUI 5.0" thread and there appeared to be several possible routes, but most were regarding the European version.
I have a US Wi-Fi model and have no allegiance in keeping it a US one, if there's a way to remove the regional aspect to gain access to the update (BETA or otherwise).
I would greatly appreciate if someone who has some experience with or is very confident of the correct path would shed some light for me.
Thank you!

I've just finished reading the entire thread linked above that mentions that method a number of times, so I'm certainly familiar with it, but haven't tried it because sprinkled throughout that thread are plenty of issues encountered. Also, there's no mention of US hardware/firmware specific instructions.
I'm on W09 as mentioned in the OP - thanks for the reply!

I'm away from my tablet at the moment but will do later on when I get home.
We will see after that what we can do. I have updated my tablet to Nougat, but I have BTV-DL09 (4G European version).
To change region I think you have to unlock bootloader.

Here's what's in firmware finder @33adi
What's the advantage to switching from US to EU roms? I unlocked, rooted, enabled 5ghz band for wifi, and now only need nougurt but much like the original poster not sure the best route.

The advantage of removing the US stock rom is that the European one has a beta available that is very stable. My thread is seeking someone who's confident of the steps to 1st going European & 2nd installing nougat once there, as there was some debate of complexity to doing even that.
I've been through exactly what you are wanting to do @dutchdoggs54 . Unfortunately I can't tell you step by step how I got to where I'm at.
I was on W09128BXXX out of the box . Read the topic that you have linked in your first post and decided to do it using firmware finder to force the update to Nougat as they described. It actually went very well and Nougat worked great with the exception of Bluetooth not working.
I have to say during the upgrade when it booted into recovery and it was TWRP I was concerned. Believe it had an error but it worked and replaced TWRP as I recall with a stock recovery.
So after all that I decided I wanted my tablet branded as a BTV-W09C100B006. Below is the topic where a member thought they bricked their tablet.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m3/how-to/bricked-m3-btv-w09-t3612699
They were given directions to download the Full update package for the version I just mentioned.
This member got their tablet working again and in the process found that 5Ghz wifi is enabled on C100B006 by default.
That was the main reason I rooted my tablet.
I followed the directions knowing I force install a different version of Nougat from your link.
Downloaded the full version software and dropped it in the dload folder on my US tablet and did the upgrade.
Tablet rebooted and shortly after it rebooted again going to recovery (I tried may times to boot). Don't recall the error but after I unlocked my bootloader again it reset the tablet and I was able to access it again. I did relock the bootloader so I can see updates without any problems after that.
In the end I got what I was after. My tablet shows as a BTV-W09C100B006 and can check for updates.
5Ghz wifi is enabled by default. As I said I relocked the bootloader so I'm not rooted. Overall it's works so well I'll wait for Nougat to get released and then do the official upgrade. After the scare of booting to recovery it was worth every nervous minute of it.
Try to talk to OP from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/...-root-t3374068
Maybe he can make this app available to Mediapad M3, then changing OEMINFO will be easy.
I posted a question there.
No luck
Ok, so I tried following @Samavb's great instructions and guidance in the other thread last night. Made it all the way to the point where he says to install 009 from the Huawei website - got it downloaded and loaded up on the tablet only to find that it wouldn't install because the 009 file on the website is BTV-DL09 not the BTV-W09 version a US tablet would need.
So I got frustrated and tried installing the B301 build that appeared on firmware finder when I was on the W09-006 build...this was nougat and was cool but no keyboard and the play store wouldn't install anything, so I was forced to revert back to 006.
So, long story short, hours of work have confirmed that there doesn't appear to be a way to get a US tablet to fully functional Nougat at the moment. If there was a 009 or 010 build like Samavb mentions for the US model, maybe it would work, but those aren't anywhere to be found - firmware finder, russian site he mentions or otherwise.
So, I'll happily sit on 006 and wait for a US OTA update. That is unless anyone can tell me exactly how to make this US model into a European model.
Same boat as original poster. US w09 on build c128b003. Firmware finder just finds the same version. Anyone know when there might be a us version update released. I thought it was supposed to be may so have been waiting patiently.....but may is over.

In Firmware Finder select the menu in the top left corner. (3 bars)
Right below your model number, select change model and enter BTV-W09C100 and then search.
You should see B301 and it's a full OTA. However, as I understand it this is just a beta/test release.
Only issue I had with it, bluetooth didn't work. Seeing as how I don't use it, didn't bother me.
I highly recommend you fall back to the other topic about forcing the upgrade to Nougat.
Only difference from my tablet and yours. I was on C128B002. I had already rooted and couldn't get that update.
Also US 64gb version here and hoping for an update to Nougat and EM5. Would love to see it!
Huawei have been quite attentive for updates in other markets which is great. Too bad the non-LTE version in US doesn't get the same love.
Buying this tablet was a roll of the dice for me, banking on the hope that Huawei would be attentive to software updates (for all markets) and custom ROMs could serve as back up/enjoyment. This tablet has solid hardware and with another launcher it is decent.
Sadly, my experiment to try out a non-Nexus device without the latest (or close to pure) Android version is coming to an end. The last M3 sold on Swappa went for around $300.

from what i gather. if you're going from MM to Nougat, you need to install the Full OTA. for that, there are 2 files, you will need both of them. from there, i'm not sure.
Hi All
Hoping you can help as i am struggling to understand how this all works with this manufacturer. I got this tablet yesterday and love it so far ... upon starting the tablet i was greeted with an update notification that i initially figured was for 7.0 - turns out this was a patch for 6.0.
This is all great except i noticed in another thread that someone with the same version and based in the uk received the update. Mine wont find it. I tried the PC software to see if this would work as it used to on other manufacturers (Sony for example) but it said i was up to date.
I would prefer to update the official way if possible (not my first BBQ, have had more android tablets than you can poke a stick at - have resorted to all sorts of ways to get the next software before)
Any ideas anyone ? least possible effort as i don't want to corrupt this awesome piece of kit !
From what I can tell they roll it out in waves based on the device's IMEI. I also haven't received it in Italy when some people in neighbouring countries have. I guess all you can do is wait. By the way, corrupting the device is not that easy, if you want to test Nougat right now, you can get it using Firmware Finder, then you can roll back to the regular version using a rollback package you can find on Huawei's website. Worst case scenario, you will have to factory reset, but it won't be a big deal I guess since you just got it. I was able to roll back from a failed flash of Nougat just fine, then reflashed the correct version of Nougat and used it for a while, then rolled back again because I heard the official ota is coming, and it always worked just fine.
Ok great thanks for confirming. i almost went for the galaxytab s2 again (my wife swindled me out of my old one ! ) but glad i didn't - this one runs better on 6.0 than the s2 on 7.0 i noticed.
Hello all,
this is my first post on XDA so I hope I am doing everything according to the rules. If I do something wrong, apologies and I will do better next time.
So, I recently purchased a Zenfone 3 MAX in the US in a hurry out of necessity. So I was quite annoyed to find out that ASUS has hidden the ability to format the SD card as internal memory. However I found out there is a way to un-hide the feature via adb. But the procedure I found is tested to work with Marshmallow, and I had already updated the phone to Nougat. Indeed, the adb command has had no effect on my phone.
So, now I am trying to downgrade back to Marshmallow. I am definitely a newbie to this world, but I have been able to find this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-3/help/how-to-downgrade-zenfone-3-nougat-to-t3573241) thread, which contains a link to a downgrading procedure (https://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-164531-1-3.html). However, it is not for ZC520TL but for ZE520KL.
I was hoping I could use the same procedure for my phone, if I find the right firmware, but I am not sure I have been looking in the right places. The ASUS website has various firmware versions for the US and I assume the oldest one is Marshmallow (Version US-13.1.4.43), but the procedure above requires two different firmware files and I do not know enough to understand what is the difference and where I can find them.
Anyone can shed some light on this for me?
Thank you

Ask for it. A user in Canada obtained the downgrade. Please write in this thread and share it.

I have looked at the thread you linked, but I could not see any reference to someone successfully getting their phone downgraded to M by Asus. If anything some people in there stress how unhelpful is Asus with the whole thing. So I am not any closer to the solution than I was before.

Thanks for the link. I have looked around and found a firmware for the ZC520TL. However I am not sure it is the right one for me because it is my understanding that I need a firmware whose name starts with UL, rather than WW. I am not sure what would happen if I used firmware of a different zone. Moreover, I have been able to recover the right firmware from the ASUS website. What I need is the "RAW firmware" as defined in the procedure I have linked in my original post. But I don't know how that is different from the firmware. As I said, I am very new to this world.

WW stands for global firmware, however I am not sure what UL is for. You can contact the person in that website asking for your firmware. They will help.
