Anyone have a working spirit fm radio or another radio app for rooted android 8 ?
Thanks
Having the same question ...
I rooted my phone and was expecting SPIRIT FM to be working, but it only says that 'Tuner API did not start' and 'This device may need a kernel with a working FM driver'.
Not sure if it's really a kernel-issue, as FM-radio is still working via this '*#*#6484#*#*'-method.
Is there any MAGISK-module?

No. Currently there is no way except to wait for someone to enable that in custom kernel.

Thanks!
I am not an expert, but confused: FM-radio must be supported in the Kernel, as the '*#*#6484#*#*'-method is working.
looks like a 'compatibility issue' between the kernel and the SPiRIT-app.
Wouldn't it be possible to use the in-built (working) FM-Radio and install it in a visible way?

I don't know how to say this, but he won't get any money anymore... He would have open sourced the project as he did with SpiritF.

Awww...that is very sad!
I read Spirit FM developer was passed away in 2016. Some one need to modify his open source Spirit2F to make it running properly in Oreo because before this, it can run in Nougat. Maybe we need kernal modification instead of Spirit2F modification.
Try this:
Spirit2 2014_12_16_lollipop
After a start error, it works.

No. It still violates copyrights. His estate would be handling proceeds from the app.
For study purpose only:
Hint #1 - the filename of this app is "Spirit2.ver.2014_12_16_lollipop.build.76.apk" .
Hint #2 - don't remove the quotes when searching for it.
So far only this old version seems to be working with Oreo. Not sure that you can buy it officially and then downgrade to this version specifically. I uninstalled it after trying as I don't need FM radio.
No this app doesn't work . Would have payed if it worked without root

Works for me..must be that one specific version.
That specific version works great on my Xiaomi MI A1 with android Oreo 8.0.0 with march 2018 security patch.
Can't find any versiĆ³n mentioned.

What do you think? Should i even create the source?
Nobody had this guide yet...
I want to help people, not get thanks or make myself Recognized developer or contributer to yell on others.
The devices your currently using is not created by yourself, your using manufacturer is hardware and software.
Anyway, i helped people, i am helping people and i will.
We are born to share.
A country itself can't produce and grow everything, they need other countries help also.
There are plenty of guides explaining the same in a clearer manner.
Using the same kernel for different devices doesn't sound safe to me.
"Passing regards to the maker" is not in the spirit of XDA, don't troll for thanks while just stealing someone elses work.

hello,
I'm Italian, I apologize for my bad english (google translator)
I tried your rom and it works, the changes are few and a bit 'useless, but as you wrote, this is the first version
But I think to improve performance and to have much more control of our phone would serve a real rom such CyanogenMod, so I wanted to ask if you were going to do a port, in my opinion, although it is difficult to make a port, it is much more difficult to implement all the features of CyanogenMod, for me agrees

Hey guys,
Meticulus stopped working on CM, I'm using the rom as my daily driver and loved every update or fix, so sad and a big loss for every CM lover...
My question is, is there a developer who goes on with the rom or does the development really stops?
And does anyone know a solution for the bluetooth pair bug? Thanks!

Mod Edit
I followed the cyanogenmood thread all the time and I don't think that anyone made demands to meticulus. Also I don't think that people were ungrateful (what meticulus claims). For example I am a student and though I spend some money to get a device for meticulus. I did not expect from him that he must develop the rom but I expected from him honest work and not to stop developping out of not understandable reasons..
Afterall, @Meticulus had gone way too far out of its development. We can still thank him for bringing us that development and also to sponsors.. hope other dev will come and continue the support so that the progress will continue..
