Broken links on Vibrant

I've had this problem with my Vibrant since day 1. Any links that come through via email are broken at characters like "&" or similar. Since I can't select text within the email, I literally cannot follow emailed links.
Anyway to correct this?

I'm assuming this is with the Vibrant default email client? I use K9 and it has no issues with dashes '-' or ampersands '&'. I can click the links forwarded by Facebook with no issue. It's a little more work to setup but IMHO a better experience.

I have had this problem since day one. Hate to tell you it's still there in Froyo. Well, at least the leaked versions.
I am surprised this has not been addressed or commented on more.
I would love a fix for this! Why should an = character break a web link? This shpuld be a no brainer. Do I really want to ad another email program to make links work?
Now I'm really reaching; but wouldn't it be nice if Facebook links from email open my Facebook app not the crummy web touch site? Like the do on that POS iPhone?

Is it something that a dev could patch?
Is the email app developed by Samsung? I like it a lot more than the one on my G1 besides this problem.

[Q] Editing the "Me" contact card...

Whenever I look at a text message conversation it puts "Me" as blank picture: (see first picture).
But whenever I try to edit "Me" from the "People" application, the device just hangs and won't let me edit anything. Does this happen to anyone else or does anyone know where to fix it? Thanks!

From what I remember reading a while back, you will need to make sure that your sim card has your number set in to it... From what I remember reading, you can do this using an iphone or a blackberry... The cyanogenmod rom used to do this from what I recall... But can't say 100%...
Unless someone can correct me, as I only used android for a few weeks

I'd like to piggyback off this question and ask if theres a way to make one of our contacts "Me" or just overwrite it.

On Windows Mobile there was an option to copy any contact into the "Me" contact but I can't find that option, should there be one on Android!

The "Me" thing is an HTC thing, not an ANDROID thing. In Vanilla Android there is nothing like this in the People area, you just have a contact card of yourself. I can edit my "Me" information fine. If you go on Google.com and edit your contacts with your name, it seems to change it as you login to facebook and stuff and it auto associates you with yourself, ie my Facebook is Josh ______, my twitter is GlitchZero, it auto links these things to "Me" or "Josh ______" in my Google contacts.

Ah thank you for that information. I did a hard reset & made sure "Me" was not associated with any Facebook or Google account & it works perfectly, thanks!

Sense 2.x Contact pic?

I know Google doesn't sync good-res contact pictures.. blah blah blah
My thing is...
I've been using Oxygen and CyannogenMod for almost half a year and I just switched to LeeDroid HD 3.3.3 this morning... **I don't have a Facebook account** I realised that whenever I set a contact picture from the Gallery while the phone is offline.. the pictures look GREAT when making or receiving calls.. when online, Google does its sync low-res sh*t.
I just wanna use those pictures I choose from gallery as overlay, not as google cntc's pic.
Can I stop the contacts' pictures syncing? by any any any means?

Logout of FB and then again Login..This time select the option don't sync your contacts!!

The dude doesn't have a Facebook account.
How about updating the contact pictures of your Google contacts from the web itself instead of from the phone?
Honestly don't know if it will work. I haven't tried it but it's worth a shot.

Did a similar thing already. Disable google contacts sync. Till before i move to any other ROM.
Works perfectly so far.. awesome resolution pics!

Is there a way to modify the UI of the new Gmail app for tablets? I liked it before when I had my labels and inbox shown at the same time. Instead of looking like:

Just download the new apk of gmail 4.5 and it will look way better.

This is 4.5. It's since this update it looks rubbish.

You're not using the tablet interface for some reason, that's the phone interface with the slide out drawer. I would guess it's a problem with your ROM.

I'm running the latest PA ROM and the gmail app never had any problem before the 4.5 update.

Nope. Layout, system and user apps are all set to Tablet mode.

I had this on the latest Paranoid Android rom as well. I fixed it by going to gmail hybrid properties and clicking reset in the top right hand corner, maybe give that a try?

Already tried that. Sadly no luck...

I had this ussue with the Play Store on another hybrid engine ROM but it fixed itself and I've no clue how

This definitely seems to be a ROM issue; newest Gmail has that out for my by default on my Nexus 10 (CarbonROM).

I don't know what this came with but has anyone seen this random popup when opening app drawer or google voice - it'll also bring up Heroes of Dragon age from the play store randomly. How do I get rid of it? Thanks. Sorry, I don't know how to resize images.

they look more like ads... Do you remember which app you installed before they started appearing?
Try uninstalling that app... It may solve your issue...

that shouldn't be too hard..
If I am correct,the new apps are placed last in touchwiz... try going back in that order....
I will recommend making a list of apps using list my apps or similar app so that u can install the apps that were removed in the process here..
u can also check recently updated apps in my app section in Google play,that may also be doing that..
