Loving my Zuk, or was. I set up the screen lock for fingerprint sensor and it was working great. Recognises my thumb first time every time. Now though I can unlock with just a normal swipe. It doesn't even demand the backup pin number. I went back into settings and it still had the fingerprint setup as the screen lock so I removed it and set it up again and hey presto i was back in action but only for about 10 minutes and it went back to no security at all.
There were 4 small OTA updates today so I am guessing one of these has messed it up. Each update didn't say what it was for
Has anybody else had this issue?
Is working well for me.
Have you added other smartlock event (wifi, location, ecc) that can interfere with the lockscreen and disable it?

My MOTO 360 is in smartlock as a trusted device, don't fully understand what smartlock is to be honest. If I remove it would it affect anything?

Of course!
I have also a smartwatch (LG Urbane) and the watch as a trusted device. When the smartwatch is connected to the phone the lockscreen is always DEACTIVE, even if you have configured a lock screen (PIN, pattern and or fingerprint)
Power off your watch (or set if in airplane mode) to check if lockscreen turns on in the phone

I have just removed my 360 as a trusted device and the screen lock now works perfectly and so I now understand how this works. Many thanks for the advice. I can now stop worrying that I have a faulty device!

I am facing as well to a lockscreen and fingerprint issue.
I used fingerprint to open lockscreen and pattern as secondary. After showing the ZUK to somebody I needed to modify the pattern. From that time I am unable to switch back to fingerprint. Only three opportunities what I have, and no swipe or fingerprint, due to "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage". What accessibility service messes up the fingerprint usage? Do you guys have an idea? All of them are swiched off.

Hi. I'm having some problems with the fingerprint sensor. Is working intermitent or not. I've asked zuk support already but no answer yet. I don't know if it's a software issue or hardware. It's any way to calibrate the sensor? Maybe it's decalibrated? Any help will be usefull. Thank you.
LE I already made a factory reset. No improvement.

I'm using the Zuk since a month, and no problems with the fingerprint at all.
In any occasions, the fingerprint sensor don't detects the finger the first time but at second try.
Since a few days, I'm on CyanogenMod (instead of Cyanogen OS) and I think the sensor is less responsive (sometimes I need to try three times or use the lock pattern).
But if you are with issues using CyanogenOS I think is due to a hardware issue.

I can not use the fingerprints touch button as back button anymore. this happened after last update cynogenmod. any knowledge.

Fingerprint actions has been removed by CM a few OTA updates ago.
I hope a kernel developer will add soon, but ZUK has not too much developers
Modded kernel for COS can be found in the other topic about this issue.
The OnePlus 2 sources happen to have a compatible finger print driver with capacitive button support which is currently being checked out for porting to the Chroma kernel.
So don't fret.. The feature can be restored.
iam not able to use my fingerprint lock, it was working well before but now suddenly it is not showing the option in CHOSE LOCK SCREEN- the SWIPE an d FINGER PRINT OPTION IS DISABLED.

Having an issue with the fingerprint sensor.....
Works fine but when push notifications(any notifications**) show up on the lock screen ..the sensor gets non responsive...mind u almost impossible to unlock
Have no choice other than security pin
And I Definitely think this is result of All IN ONE Issue

Is there a provision in the ZUK Z1 which let's you interact with the device by simply tapping on the fingerprint sensor except on the lock screen?
If the device is locked and the screen is off too, simply placing my hand on the fingerprint sensor doesn't work. I always have to press on the button to wake the screen first.
Any help?
May sb tell me the modell of the finger print reader of the ZUK Z1? Pls. use AIDA64.

That's part the of custom roms. Fingerprint as home button can be activated by flashing something, you need root. But in the play store you can try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ztc1997.fingerprint2sleep
But it's not that what you need. Without root and a kernel where its implemented its not possible.
Hey my fingerprint was working fine till one day it just started vibrating when I tried to scan it. I tried deleting the saved fingerprints and registered new. I'm not even Able to register new fingerprints. What do I do?
My fingerprint sensor doesn't seem to be working as when I add a fingerprint it occasionally says 'try againe' at the top of the screen and then won't register my finger print. If it does not do that then it retest eras my finger all the way till the last part and then don't respond or vibrate. How can I solve this issue?

Looks like I have the same issue as reported by my wife (I'm currently not in possession of the unit as I'm abroad and it has arrived few days back). She knows how to register as I have the Letv 1s and she was playing with it before.
The symptoms are as you say, no vibration and no detection of the fingerprint.
Can it be from the rom that came with the phone (maybe multilanguage). I can't remember if on 1s I had this problem.
Currently I have emailed the shop and I'm waiting for their reply. If you guys find a fix, please share.

Hi,
For me, the fingerprint scanner is the real weak point of this phone.
If it would have a better one, it would be flawless... except for the lack of development due to LeEco not publishing open source for their devices
And trust me : I've had the OP3 for several days before getting the LeEco. And that fingerprint scanner works as it should and in a blink of an eye you can use your phone !
What I found out is that this fingerprintscanner is really sssslllllooooowwwww....
So press it once, and then put your finger back on for several seconds.
But of course, doing so reduces the nice thing in having a fingerprint scanner as you're done quicker with "screen on" + "pattern/code"...
Really hope that LeEco can improve this... but when I see how they act on their own forums (a representative posts about every 20 days) I am not that optimistic

For me the fingerprint Scanner is working perfectly. Faster than iPhone 6 und it only fails to read 1 out of 15. Got 3 prints registered and it does very well

What version of the software are you using?
The fingerprint sensor has gotta be the worst ever in a mobile device. My phone takes good 5 seconds to unlock. Registering new fingerprints takes ages. Last I heard that this was some qualcomm tech which does scanning of skin layers under the top layer. But right now the technology is big fail.
That fingerprint sensor hardware is beta 1 in our phone. I am sure the new Le Max 3 which is coming out with Snapdragon 823 will not have this issue. They will advertise how the fingerprint is now 100x faster than before and bla bla.

I am on TeamSpains Cm13 Version. In eui it wasnt that good but now its working without any problems
And to the guy over this post:. 5 seconds for fingerprint unlock? May be your device is faulty. I didnt experience this. Even not on stockrom

Even my device on 15S unlockes after 5 seconds. The worst sensor and algorithm ever.

One way to make finger print recognition better : save several time the same finger print.
Not very sexy but it works for me
So as I have arrived home, I've changed the firmware to 015s stock and the fingerprint started to work. Of course it's not ideal as my 1s but at least it's working. It takes about a second to read and unlock... acceptable to be honest. Maybe they will improve with the upgrades because for 1s it had improved within 2-3 firmwares to super fast recognition.

My experiences after several ROM, the international Indian ROM has removed bug.
Recognition really fast, from 10 attempts 8 immediately.

By the installation Rome should be installed super su with.
The encoding is prevented with it.
i have the same experience here... got my max2 from geekbuying but wont even recognize my fingerprints... so i updated to 5.8 eui from india not the Chinese version and not it works... however it takes one sec to open slower than my honor 5x. ... hope leeco would make it a bit faster considering the new tech it has...
Is there a major difference between the indian rom and the stock chinese rom that has english language? Does the indian rom have english language selection?
Yes the system language is complete into English.
The fingerprint scanner on 5.8.16s is much improved It seems much faster now. There was even an upgrade notice at first boot where it said it would erase my previous prints to upgrade.

Guys in my device the fingerprint sensor working ONLY IN 5.6 EUI!!!no matter what rom i flash ,with full clean install i cant input a fingerprint!!!i have test every single rom who is based on EUI 5.8,EVEN THE OFFICIAL! IS NOT WORKING.i even try the latest 5.18.6s for x829...nothing..0...
any help will be appreciated pls.....

what i did on mine was download the indian rom 5.8 on my computer and renamed it as "update.zip"...then copy the file into the internal storage. ..once in internal storage, i used my file manager app to open it...then clixk update. your phone will update and wait about 15 minutes..iy will reboot and change your fingerprint via settings.... hope this helps

i ve try this rom too..no success...............
since i flashed back to older firmware the finger print scanner is flawless, works every time, with recent and even nougat it was hit or miss and eventually would have to do a scan again

As most know OnePlus has added their own Face unlock feature with OOS 5.0.2 Oreo. I'm curious to find:

How reliable have you found it?

For myself, I'm impressed as it is so fast and seems to work under any light conditions with the "Face unlock assistive lighting" option on. I never used the Android version of face unlock so can't really compare. I plan to keep using it with a little more verification that it can't easily be fooled (need access to relatives). During the little time that I've tried this new feature, I'm finding that I don't use the finger print scanner to unlock the phone anymore. I was also surprised that it worked with and without my glasses on, which I was sure would effect this feature.

I'm using it. It's working 100% so far but how secure? It's not very secure at all since this is only software and no hardware involved which i believe is need for using it for things like payments. The hardware is whats used i think for the depth and contour of your face so a picture can't be used to unlock the phone.this I think is why OOS version of FaceID or FaceUnlock can't be used for payments. It only works if you're look at it pretty much straight on and if you're looking down or close you eyes, it doesn't accept your face, but as soon as I open my eyes it's instant.
Works like a charm, works with or without glases. Use it as a dayly driver. Didn't try to fool it, maybe someone can try.
it gets the job done very well.......i love it.....as far as recognizing with or without glasses i don't find that to work. amazed how fast it is. i found it to work with the phone tilted away from my face at about 30 degrees to the side. its as secure as i want it to be.......just keep my phone locked for when its not on me.......i dont bother to hide lockscreen notifications anyways.......

Are you using Face unlock or Google's Smart Lock? Since it doesn't unlock with pictures, neither with videos. I have tried both several times as well as my gf

I use Face Unlock since it come out, on ob4. Very Fast! But works only in good light. In a room with low light not that well. Could not unlock until i type the PIN.
Now, on ob5 works even better.

Turn on the "Face unlock assistive lighting" option on the OOS Face unlock panel. That option uses the light sensor to turn the lock screen white if the ambient light is too low for OOS Face unlock to work. The white screen generates enough reflective light to let OOS Face unlock function. For me, that resolves the issue you described. The lock screen ONLY turns white if the light is low, so it is actually an elegant solution to the issue you describe.
I use it and it seems to work well - very fast. No idea on security. I'll try not to lose my phone

I see that in ob5. The white screen it's for the phone camera to see my face in the dark. It's even Faster. Works very well in the dark.

LineageOS works if you enable "always on display". Put your finger and unlock directly.
Shapeshift OS ? has the best implementation for fingerprint unlock.
Very fast and stable rom with Always FOD ready + it has the feature that disables night light on FP recognizing for more accuracy.
