Hello all ,
I am facing a problem with my Joying Head unit JY-VL130N2.
I tried to update the system from website with the latest file ( carjoying.com/blog/joying-head-unit-after-sale-support/59.html ) , but unfortunately the installation was not successful , message coming that "System has not enough space ". Please see below photos .

I tried to reset the headunit through the small button on the right bottom side , unplugged and re-plugged the USB stick , same message after. Tried as well with three different USB sticks (FAT32),same thing . I wrote a few emails to Joying support team , but no success until now as they keep telling me to do factory reset and then update again , which I cannot do it as the system does not load at all.
Can anyone please help me to solve this ?
Many thanks
Do you have lots of 3rd party apps in stalled? Do full factory reset and internal storage clean, then repeat flashing FW.
See edit's FAQ thread for details:

Hi ,
Can you please tell me how to do a factory reset and internal storage clean as the head unit is not loading into Android system ? Many thanks
Oh, that...
1. First I would leave HU ON, maybe pressed reset and left (no sticks in USB). There mighg be a chance of magic self recover happening after several unsuccessive boot.
2. While performing step 1, I would search this forum for some key combination/long reset press or something of this kind followed by purple text output - only today have seen this instructions here or on carjoying forum, but can not find it again.
3. Continue to press Joying team for a solution.

1) like ste2002 says: be patient. It can take 20 minutes, but that is in case your system is correct but had 3 unsuccessful boots. But in this case when the unit already mentions that the update was unsuccesful, it will probably not work, but it is always worth a try as it is the "laziest and easiest" method.
2) The reset option is with a "pointy" thing in the reset hole until the boot logos appear. Then reset again. After 3 uncompleted boots this early in the process, the system will go into the recovery boot, which are the purple leds. Use this purple led boot to connect at that moment your usb stick with the firmware.
Have you tried to re-download the update rar file again? Maybe it got somehow corrupt.
How big is the file Allapp.pkg? It should be 302,066 KB (~295 MB)
In case this does not help...
You could experiment with contents of file SQLSOFIA.
Since Feb 2017 it contains
Code:
mass
twipe_all
#make_updates
Before that it contained only
Code:
mass
No idea if this could help to make sure that the system partition is reformatted before the content is written there.

My son's Galaxy S4 has recently quit working and the following is what shows up on his screen along with a little robot icon with an open door that say's "No Command" under it.
Android system recovery<3e>
KTU84P.I337UCUFNJ4
Volume up/down to move highlight;
power button to select.
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
My son say's he has tried each of these items and has had no luck. At the bottom of the screen is the following message,
# Manual Mode #
--Appling Multi-CSC...
Applied the CSC-code : ATT
Successfully applied multi-CSC
Neither of us are tech types and are stumped by this. Please give some detailed directions to help a Grandpa help his son.
Use the volume up and down keys and scroll down to data factory reset and use the power button to select it then after it completes scroll down to wipe cache partition and use power key to select it after its done scroll up to reboot phone and use power key to select phone should restart and power on good luck
Well I followed the steps provided and it is just the same as when I started.
I tried it 3 times without luck.
Anyone know what else I might try?
If you can get the phone into download mode, hold volume down, home and power at the same time. You can use odin to flash the NB1 tar file in the AP slot on the new version of odin, PDA in older ones. You'll need the drivers for the phone which can be found on samsungs website. Info on how to do all that can be found here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/general/guide-odin-to-stock-updating-rooting-t2926642 Hope you can get it working again.
Thank you for the help, I am attempting to follow your instructions now. Just have a question that may sound really dumb.
Do I need to have a simcard in the phone to do this?
This type of Tech is not my area so I really dont know.
I never tried it without a sim card but it should still work. After odin installs the new firmware, it will reboot the phone and you'll set it up just like it was new. Just make sure to follow the instructions in the thread I linked to.
No Joy......
After trying multiple times in the last few hours I still have the same screen. I downloaded the latest drivers to my pc, downloaded and installed Odin on my pc. Changed usb cables and ports and still the same screen.
It wont boot up, I cant get it to download mode, I cant get it to do anything. I think this thing is a "brick" now.
Thanks for the help folks, I appreciate it.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
That sucks you couldn't get it to work. You can take it to a samsung service center if you have a best buy near you That has one. Maybe they can get it to work. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you to.
Hi
I recently bought a Joying UMS01N2 - 2GB 7" Single Din unit... I had previously posted about recommended upgrades, and was successful in doing some basic mods...
I changed the boot logo to a custom , and was then playing around with the bootanimation.zip file to get a custom boot animation (duh)... however, I may have messed something up because now the unit starts, shows the custom boot logo, and then goes to a lit black screen - almost as if in an endless loop... it will not load onto the launcher/app and stays as a black lit screen... I have tried to recover by restarting, and long/short pressing the PWR and RST buttons, but nothing is allowing a reboot/recovery...
Any advise?
I am running Android 6 as per the latest factory ROM (unit received in August) - not updated in Sep to recent update posted on the joying page
Thanks!
I would try to make a "blind" reflashing by attaching flash drive with latest FW.
How exactly is that done? Thanks in advance
Just connect flash drive containing unzipped FW files. Optionally do a soft reset with a toothpick into RST hole. Then wait. Hopefuly reflashing can wipe those boot animations for good (which I am not quite sure of).
As to me, I can not see any point in installing boot animations which under normal conditions one is not going to see on his/her HU screen ever. Only if something wrong happens and some sort of reset performed. Good reminder would be to me what a "beginner" I am
*Needless to say that USB flash drive should be error free irrespective of formatting option.
Would you not see the bootanimation every time the car is started? I say every time since I will probably only drive once a week (weekend toy) and I believe the Joying unit shuts down within 3 days of going into standby...
I will try to reflash using a USB... will post back if I need any further help... Thanks!
It worked!! Thanks!!!
I was able to reflash with a soft boot using the Sep 1 firmware... all my old apps are still there, but I will test them out later... for now the only issue I have is none of my left panel buttons on the screen are working anymore? I have a single din detachable screen with a column of buttons on the left side (power, home, nav, and volume)... and none of them respond to touch?? Is there a setting I need to adjust for this?
There is in settings - something like MCU HW buttons (do not remember exactly, may not contain "HW", but does contain "MCU" and "button"). Should work.
Hello,
It's my first post here, but I've allready read and found many informations on this forum. I'm french sorry for my english !
I have a big problem with my Ownice C500 OL-6666G : Few days ago, when I was BT calling the unit has suddenly stopped and reboot. Since this event, the unit is in a boot loop, it restarts, show boot logo then black screen for 15 seconds and then restarts, etc. I've made a video : h t t p s ://we.tl/t-7buTPOl1NZ
I have search for similar problem but found no solution.
I have tried to :
- Access recovery, but it doesn't work. I've tried many combinations of power button, reset and screen touching... Nothing works. It's only indicate in green "detected" at the upper left corner when boot logo is displayed, then black screen and reboot ;
- Launch a firmware update through USB and SD-Card, same problem, it doesn't launch, it's only indicate in green "detected" at the upper left corner when boot logo is displayed, then black screen and reboot. I've tested many firmware found on this thread : h t t p ://forum.carpad.vn/threads/huong-dan-chay-firmware-dau-owince-c500.23. I've tested 3561s and 3562s versions. I've tested the different USB port and remove all accessories (USb and SD).
I've done many search and maybe there is other solutions, but I need some help :
- Access recovery in order to wipe data or factory reset. But what is the procedure to access recovery on C500 unit ?
- using sdimage like C200 to force firmware update. Unfortunately, I have not found any sdimage for C500. Is this method also compatible with C500 ?
- Using USB cable to connect a portable PC and launch firmware update with RK3 firmware tools (or similar for C500), but I'm not sure this will work since the unit is continuously rebooting ;
- Unlock the bootloader, but I've found no information for ownice unit...
Thanks in advance for your response !
to factory reset:
reset the unit with rst buton, then tap tap the screen with 5 fingers. hope it helps
or when you put the usb with firmware on it, reset the unit with rst buton then slide one finger in the right part of the screen in up/down motion
Hey, I have a px5 head unit that was on android 6.0.1, I updated the mcu from version MTCE_HZC_v.75 to v.94
I tried to flash android 8 rom using an image I found online, so I booted the unit into recovery mode and selected update image, and then the unit restarted and never turned back on
before that, the USB port related to the unit received power, but now there is nothing
I tried to hold the reset button for different periods but it did nothing.
is there any way to try to turn it on without disassembling the whole thing?
Restore backup - connect device to PC and restore system using backup (if you backed up before flashing)
Android 6? That's old, most updates of yours only update to oreo 8.1. on PX5 device. Find updates and MCU files on 4pda Russian forum.

Search the internet for troubleshooting your device with those light codes, blinking twice means wrong bios or flash memory

Hello, I have an Android device of which I do not know the brand and model (I will attach photos). The problem is as follows, after I installed the Waze application, the device wrote that there is no free disk space and restarted, from here to there it loads only until the inscription android. I've read all the reset articles and all sorts of combinations, but I'm having no success getting into recovery mod. Please someone help me. Thank you in advance!
At least someone tell me what the model is or where I can see it?
Hello, I solved my problem and if it can help someone, I will write how. If the moderators deem it unnecessary to delete the topic.
So the model is 8221l and entering recovery mode is done as follows:
1. you press the reset button
2. you immediately start pressing on the touch screen with 5 fingers, it should say "recovery mode"
3. if you did it right the display says "erasing" then it will say ANDROID again
4. wait for 2 minutes and power off the device
5. restore power and the device will boot back to 100%
6. if you want to update the firmware, do everything but with the difference that in point 2 you have to press with 4 fingers!!!
