Hello everyone
Just got a A530f, anyone succeded to root or boot / flash custom recovery on it ?
I haven't try anything so far tbh (never had a samsung and never tried odin, but i guess they're tutorial everywhere) but I'm not sure if there is a TWRP image compatible yet, is there a chance an image for a5 2017 or something else will work ?
i also wait...
Wrong forum:

Wow ok thanks, that forum is quite hidden tbh, doesn't show up if you look up for "a8 2018" in xda search (at least on the first page)

Good evening to everyone,
I've been an Android user for the last 4 years (i started with the HTC Dream G1, the first ever made Android smartphone which had the version 1.1). The first time i approached the world of modding was for having really important features such as the sync of contacts with google account, and i also have fully modded my second device, an HTC One S, that i decided to change 2 days ago.
I purchased a Samsung Galaxy A5 and i'm going to mod it again since i don't like few things about the device.
Since i'm out of date with the current mod envirorment (the last time i did some kind of mod with my One S was over 1 year ago) i think i need a bit of refresh, so here are my questions:
1) Do i need to install some kind of special drivers, android developing tool, sdk, java things or anything special before using Odin or other rooting tools mentioned in the guides? I remember i lost an entire day the first time i rooted my devices since all the guides on the web didn't talk about installing this preliminary files.
2) I'm Italian, i live in Italy, i purchased my device in Italy too in a Vodafone store, but the CSC of my device does not appear to be Italian Vodafone, i can't rewrite it here at the moment but after a research on google i found out it was a German Vodafone CSC.
The firmware itself does not seem branded (no custom bootload animation, only the main app by vodafone which i like to have) and i'm going to change firmware anyway, but i still want to set a no-brand CSC.
When i changed the CSC of my HTC One S i remember it as a very complicated procedure, i had to extract a particular file from the smartphone using prompt's command, manually editing a text file and putting it back again with prompt.
I'd like to know if there's a different procedure for the Galaxy A5, i searched the web for a procedure but i have found none.
I saw a CSC option in Odin and i think this is probably the cleanest and fastest way, but i don't know a place where to find the various file for changing CSC.
3) Custom recovery: i had difficulties in finding custom recovery on the web too for this device, i saw a thread in this section fo the Galaxy A7. I suppose there's no custom recovery for the A5 at the moment, am i correct?
4) Any way to prevent Samsung Knox counter from increasing with root + flash of custom rom and eventually recovery? i read few guides but they seem to don't work anymore with recents updates.
Knowing if there's a way to reverse the counter in case of need it's ok too, but i've read that's much harder now than it was few years back, so i can suppose that maybe "Prevention is better than cure".
5) Are there any really really valid custom kernel / radio? I think i'm going to flash the CyanogenMod 12.1 but maybe there's some other flashable thing which is not included in this rom that can improve my devices.
6) after you've told me exactly what i can do know with my devices, could you please tell me the order for the various phases? I don't mean the very single steps, just if i have to change the CSC before or after than rooting or flashing the custom recovery before i have obtained the SU permissions ecc.
Thank you in advance for all your help, Italian forum are not very crowded in these days so i decided to write a thread in the best forum for this subject around the web!

They think it takes a long time to get twrp for my device, i have grand prime + sm-g532m
root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/root-samsung-galaxy-j2-prime-g532m-t3523090
If you dont find twrp you can use flashfire after root :good:
TWRP doesn't just magically pop up for your device... you do understand that someone actually has to download the TWRP source, write some code and compile it for the device right? Of course, you could go ahead and do it yourself (there are several posts on how to build a custom ROM/recovery).
Hello I am Yohan, newly registered member but an ardent follower of XDA forums and developers since the past one year. XDA has educated me in so many different things and I have enjoyed full freedom on my android devices ever since.
Now am using Samsung's SMJ500F 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and it seems almost impossible to find a working root method for this. Being a powerful device, all the bloatware is lagging down it's performance.
I have tried,
1. ODIN method (both TWRP and custom firmware), Result: Brick.
2. KingRoot (no strategy available).
3. Flashing SuperSU.zip using TWRP, failed. Result: Brick.
I can't even recall all the methods I've tried and the sites I've visited cause there is so many. I have bricked my device so many times, that the service centre guy is like "Here he comes again".
So my question is, has anyone successfully rooted Samsung Galaxy J500F 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and if so please do share it with the community, and if any developer can come up with a pre rooted SMJ500F 6.0.1 firmware, it'll be much appreciated. Hope to see your replies soon.

Which SuperSU zip did you flash using TWRP? And what error did you get?
I have a J500FN. When I tried Marshmallow 6.0.1, I installed TWRP, then latest SuperSU zip and it got rooted without problems.
Try to flash:
1. Stable: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu-stable .
2. Latest: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu .

If using kingroot then just make sure you are connected to wifi or mobile data as you need it for finding strategies. I would prefer TWRP method and then flash SuperSu.zip. It works 100% on all models. What has left me confused is what do you mean by "brick"? Are you able to access download mode after flashing twrp?
Edit:
If you are able to access download mode then flash official firmware via odin fist and then try your luck again. Hope this helps.

Did you check the roms and kernel section here? We have 2 unofficial twrp ( who cares if its official or not. It does its work. Atleast it wont brick your device) , one for lollipop and one for marshmallow. Read the respective thread and download the correct twrp for ur device.

Yes I did. After your advice I used rom from topic [RECOVERY] [TWRP-3.0.2-0] Samsung Galaxy J5 [MM][Android 6.0.1] and finally installed it on my SM-J500H.
Thank you for point in right direction.

Hii friend
I am using samsung j500f 6.0.1 and i have succesfully rooted it.i faced some problems while rooting but resolved them.
At first flash firmware to your phone from
http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model
Then download the latest odin and twrp recovery from the given link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-samsung-galaxy-j500f-t3416960
Then try to flash it with odin.
Then goto recovery mode after flashing and then try to install the given supersu zip file from twrp.
Download Supersu zip from the link below
http://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/
For Marshmallow Users if you are facing bootloop after flashing supersu.zip . Flash the given file
http://mega.nz/#!zNVBhKjb!FZFKq6vaI...OHtdYY_TKt-6Qs(Thanks @jka_dark28 for link)

Great news! and I am only self replying due to Finding the first unofficial custom recovery for the J320A / J320AZ / J320AG. (Exynos Chipset).
it can be found here https://www.androidinfotech.com/2018/02/root-samsung-galaxy-j3-2016-sm-j320az-marshmallow.html
Will be testing shortly on a J320A, currently running a stock 7.1.1 AT&T Rom.
This is new as of 2018 (hence the post being from Feb of this year).
Thanks goes to Android Info Developers-Kumar, Rain n Or.
I am also still considering putting together my own custom build of ClockworkMod, I'm surprised it hasn't been done yet due to J320A/AZ/AG users having the ability to root on 6.0.1 and dump recovery.
EDIT: So after flashing the recovery it appears to just be a regular stock J320AZ recovery (dont worry, cant brick due to being the same phone physically as the J320A / AG.
I Find this odd, and am wondering why something like this is online :/ is there a reason it ran stock recovery on my device, or is someone just packaging stock as TWRP unofficial?

I have a Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) DuoS, which I would like to Root, but there are so many guides that I have seen and kind of browsed through that I just don't know which Guide to follow. I'm kinda stuck. I basically only need Root access to use the Roehsoft Ram Expander App for which I specifically bought an SD Card for. But the most posts I have seen or for the J7 Pro which is a different version than I have, can someone help me by guiding me to the correct guide to follow? Thank you in Advance
Found a guide saying you can root by installing Magisk with stock Recovery through Odin, did this and everything seemed to be working correctly until the phone restarted and said that the verification failed. And this is only my phone also have a tablet that I still need to do (SM-T580) Really hope someone can help me?
