Micro stuttering while playing x265 videos - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Oos version: oreo open beta 3
I'm trying to play a x265 mkv video but there is random micro stutters everywhere.
I've tried mx player, xplayer and vlc. Vlc works best but some minor stuttering is still there.Any solutions?

Have you tried to use the HW+ converter on MX Player?

The fact that you are using a beta software, I would flash the a rom with stock 5.0.1 and stock kernel to test. It could be a bad rom+kernel combo.
Also test with other x265 MKV videos as well (as in from a different source entirely).

720p Movie files DTS audio

Hello,
Has anyone been able to play 720p movies with dts audio fine on there iconia?
I've tried several media players. DicePlayer plays the sound fine but video lags. Moboplayer & rockplayer struggle both with video & audio
Try MX video player using s/w fast mode.
thanks will give this ago and report back!!
Tried out MX video player. video is very jittery.. Probably better than the other ones i have tried
i guess we have to convert them

[Q] iconia video player

Hi
I'm new to this and wanted to ask do you know any videoplayer to use on taboonay 2.2 + an 3.7 kernel. Because I use mx player for now and it's great but every movie I play in HW just lags. And in SW works great. Anyone have this issues also?

No problems with MX on my ROM, depends on the video, and how it's encoded though. Most will play on HW encode on mine, but every once in awhile I'll d/l one that forces through SW, but still plays fine, no lag.
I use Taboonay 2.2 and Richardtrip 3.7 and MX Video Player is by far my faviourite video player. I OC to 1.5 GHZ with the interactive governor. MX plays 90% of my files without flaw or lag, playing 100% of SD files or Baseline - profile MP4's (720p, havent tried 1080p). It does however, force the use of software when decoding 720p MKV Files, forcing me to convert them to Baseline or High profile MP4's. When playing those MKV files, there is severe lag and HW Decoding is grayed out. However, using Dice Player, i have managed to play some of those 720p MKV's, but the other features of MX are simply too wonderful for me to make the switch. However, after the damage of my USB port and the inability to use my 16 GB flash drive, i found myself streaming videos from my home computer using Plex, which is hell to set up but is very rewarding! It is remarkable although i still use MX Video Player for when I'm not at home to play files stored locally. Try OC'ing to 1.5 GHZ ONLY if you feel comfortable doing so. Otherwise, check out Dice Player, it has a free 3-day trial app!
Well it does not lag but feels not quite smooth. But on SW it's totally smooth. And those are xvid files:
Video: Xvid 624x352 23.98fps 1012kbps [Video 0]
Audio: MPEG Audio Layer 3 48000Hz stereo 152kbps [Audio 1]

[Q] Video player

I'm on Quarx 2ndBoot build and looking for a good video player, which can play the videos recorded by the default camera app.
BSPlayer can't play them any more, maybe the compression have changed in the videos?
Hi,
I usually use MX player, it supposed to use NEON but I never had the luck. But there are many video players you can use like Mobo Video player , VLC etc.
Install MX and Mobo both and basically you'll play everything

[Q] H265 ?

Has anyone had any luck in playing H265 on their Nexus Player?
I am using the stock ROM with KODI 14.2rc and H265 content is unwatchable. I thought I'd ask around here before trying the Lollipop ROM and other versions of KODI in case this was a known issue.
is it the x86 build of kodi? because only the x86 build will play h.265/hevc., the arm build just can't (the same goes for h.264). oh - and you'll need to be using software decoding, not hardware decoding.
i've been able to play hevc completely fine on my np. i'm running 14.1 x86 stable.
Few media players online can afford H.265 directly. You'd better encode H.265 into H.264 mp4 first so that you can play the videos.
Works for me
I just tried an H.265 video on my stock NP today using Kodi Isengard (15.2). Worked great!
MX Player works. I recommend you google to download the all in one codec zip file to use with it.

[Q] HEVC decoding

Any of you experience some Distortion or blockyness in HEVC playback
It plays smoothly but I see a lot of Big pixels on the screen here is a comparaison between my NP and VLC on my macbook.

It's totally watchable but not perfect like it could be.
Could a custom rom or a revert to Lolipop fix this since the decoding is software ?
I tried MX Player, Kodi and VLC on the NexusPlayer with the exact same result.
