Hey guys, Just wanted to get an idea or two about flashing firmware. I'm from the Philippines and I recently bought a 2nd-hand Galaxy S8 (G950FD) Carrier Locked (Smart). And while looking on Sammobile site, I saw an "Openline" Firmware. My question is that If I was to flash the Openline firmware with Odin would It become an Unlocked Model? I've researched about it and haven't stumbled upon a clear answer. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank You!

Hello everybody, I'm thinking of buying a slightly used S5 G900F. The price is really good and it could save me a lot of money instead of buying a brand new one.. the only problem is the network lock as it came from a postpaid line. Now, could i flash an Official Firmware or a Custom Stock with the same CSC and remove the Sim Lock? Any ideas about issues that may come up? Thank you, guys!

If you would check some threads there are answers to all of your questions.
1. You can use Odin to flash the 930U firmware on a 930V. The 930U is the unlocked version of the phone that will work on any carrier's network and has no bloatware.
2. The most current update for the 930V is PF2.
3. Google released Android 7 only yesterday so it will not come to Samsung devices for 2 or 3 months at the earliest.

1. A Verizon S7 930V will never be sim locked. No Verizon phone will be sim locked. If paid to have it sim unlocked you were misled. If your phone was sim locked you do not have a Verizon S7.
2. There are a few threads with the information about flashing the 930U firmware. If you cannot find it you did not look very hard. There is a thread a few below this one.

Okay, so I've been gifted a Samsung Galaxy S8 from my mother who lives in Canada, and I will only use it in Europe, as I live here. She bought it blindly, without any knowledge about model numbers and stuff. The guy at the Samsung store told her he unlocked it, and he was right as I have no problem using my sim in it, despite being the Canadian model, coming with some Rogers carrier apps. Now my question is, can I flash a firmware from the country I live in, that being Romania? So flashing a SM-G950F firmware on a SM-G950W phone. I know it sounds silly but I want to be sure.
No you can't, you can only flash canadian/us firmware, but better to stick with canadian xac firmware since its unbranded.

Hi, I have bought an unlocked Samsung galaxy s7 edge (AT&T branded G935A). I'm using a UK sim and it's working fine. Only issue is I'm still stuck on Android 6 and each time I go to search for update it says my phone has the latest update. I want to know if I can safely flash the firmware to a UK unlocked firmware or even the US unlocked firmware?.. I don't care if I lose the AT&T items from the phone. Actually if I can lose those things the better. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
You should be able to do this, as I've an AT&T S7 Edge phone unlocked for international use, and I've flashed things over and over without losing the unlocking
That's great, would it be possible to tell me which firmware you flashed it and a link if you have it. Much appreciated and thanks in advance. Did you flash it with the us unlocked firmware or international one. I want to flash it with UK unlocked firmware..

I flashed with the unlocked US firmware (U firmware) and it worked fine, flashing international won't work sadly. But using the U firmware should work fine, I have no link at the moment, but I'll search the threads and see if I get you one

Hello, I am really sorry but I am a newbie and know nothing about flashing Roms.
All I am trying to understand is:
Is it possible to flash the 'unbranded' rom on my EE branded S7 Edge (935F)
Any help much appreciated. A yes or no would help me!
Many thanks
