Where does Live Channels DVR store recordings? - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have both adopted storage and external storage drives on my Nvidia Shield. When I record a program on 'Live Channels' using the DVR, where does that saved file(s) go? To Adopted/Internal storage, or to External storage? I looked at both drive but I don't see any recordings anywhere (even though I have a few shows recorded). They have to go to a folder somewhere...

I am researching the same thing. Any luck?

What is the SD card for?

Hello all I am typing this on my new iconia. The tablet seems to always want to use internal memory for everything (pictures videos etc.)and does not offer app2sd or a way to even navigate to the microsd card without a 3rd party app like astro, so what is the SD card intended for?
It is a little odd there's no mention of it in the default file browser, isn't it?
It's not a primary feature; not when the tablet itself sports 32GB of storage, I guess. It was enough that Android supported it, so they bunged it in just because.
If you've filled up your 32GB I can see how it would be a hassle trying to use the external SD card as easily as you do the internal storage.

You can never have to much storage. I keep my 32gb flash drive and 250gb hard drive close by.

Amen to that!! I've got 2.5Tb storage on my server, 1Tb on this PC, 1Tb on my PS3, about 700 megabytes in removable storage and then some in various gadgets.. and I STILL feel like I'm running out of space all the time!
Well my tablet is a 16gb and is running out of room due to offline maps. I had not really considered that the data would be handled differently than an android phone where the app lives in internal memory and the data was on the SD card.
I've moved all of my video and music to the external SD card; PowerAmp has no issues with the files being there (and has an option to look in any subfolder off /mnt/ to find the files.)
Since most of my music is in WMA format I don't use the default Music player very often and don't know if it's "smart" enough (i.e. been told) to look in a /Music folder on the external card.

Amazon Music - any way to get Prime songs to SD card?

I've got a Joying HU, and the onboard storage isn't that great.
I'm an Amazon junkie and love Amazon Prime Music. I can choose to "download" individual songs or playlists to the Joying HU, but it always saves the songs on its own internal storage. On a normal PC you can choose where to store your music, but with the phone/Android version no such option exists.
I moved the app itself to the SD card (32GB) I installed, but that didn't change where the songs were stored.
I tried using the Amazon MP3 Mover app here but it only allows me to move NON-Prime music, I would assume because it doesn't want me offloading the music somewhere else.
So is there any chance at all there's a way to get Amazon Prime Music stored on the SD card? I'm not trying to break Amazon's rules, and the app is free to check in on wifi to verify Prime is still valid...but running everything in "Online" mode isn't optimal. I'm open to any solutions.

Where did media go?

I have a Shield TV. I attached a 2TB external HDD to this and set it up as internal storage. I then transferred a bunch of movies and pictures to internal storage and set up KODI. Everything was fine up until about a month or so ago. I am not sure when exactly.
I went to view some of the pictures and learned that the folders I had put my pictures, movies and TV shows in are no longer available. I cannot find them in KODI, X-plore, or ES File explorer. I would say they may have been deleted by mistake but it appears that I still have them somewhere based on the amount of storage available. I had used about 1TB. I still have just over 1TB used, which would indicate the files are still there somewhere. My problem is that I cannot seem to find them. I tried plugging the HDD into my windows 7 pc it doesn't recognize it.
Any thoughts on how I can go about finding these files? I do not want to reformat as I know they will be wiped.
I found them. I used the Analyze option on ES File Explore and found them buried in the recycle bin. Along with a number of there needed files and folders.
I am the only person that uses this Shield TV. I did not delete these files and folders. Does anyone have an idea of what may have happened so I can avoid in the future?

Where are DVR recordings stored?

So I have both adopted storage and external storage drives on my Nvidia Shield. When I record a program on 'Live Channels' using the DVR, where does that saved file(s) go? To Adopted/Internal storage, or to External storage?
Also, if I do the same thing but in Plex (i.e. record/DVR a program), where does Plex store those DVRed files?
And finally, is there a way I can CHANGE where those files are saved? I've googled a bit but haven't found anything enlightening about where the files are stored nor how to change the path to use a specific storage area...
Thanks!

External Storage Netflix/Play Movies Download

Does anyone know how to get a usb drive to work with the pixel so i can download netflix and google play movies to it? it seems that no matter how i format the drive, netflix and google play movies does not recognize it as external storage and i can not download to it.
to the best of my knowledge they will only look for internal storage locations for allowing the files to download. I don't think there is a way to split a drive into internal/external that the phone will accept. it has to be one or the other when formated.
Damn. Yeah no matter how I format it as internal or external, netflix only sees internal. Same with Google play movies
