N950F ROM on G955F? - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Would like to know if I were to flash N950F roms on my g955F if possible. The steps I would take would be
#1 flash rom
#2 flash g955F ironman kernel or some other kernel.
I know in times past on the note 5 you could flash edge roms and they would stick and visa versa. We have ported roms that work so I don't see how this idea couldn't work sinee internally they both share the same insides minus the pen, battary and dual camera.
Please someone let me know thx

does it matter getting models other than D802?!

hey guys does it matter getting other versions of this device ?! D800,LS/VS980 or others ?!
i don't know much about bootloaders here and if they are locked like samsung !!
will i have any problems with installing custom roms or kernels ?!
thank you in advance
have a good day
There is no difference in CPU, RAM, camera module, display and GPU but there are differences in network support, wi-fi chip attributes etc. Some models do not have FM Radio chip. I think that Verison model also looks different (buttons and camera) and there is korean model that has a removable back and SD card slot with terrestrial TV antenna.
Now, there are unified ROMs and kernels that are universal and support all variants (models) but each variant has variant specific ROMs and kernels. Bigger and more popular ROMs are for most of variants, like CM 12.1 based ROMs and AOSP ROMs (Ressurection remix, Bliss Pop) and there are popullar Cloudy ROMs that also work on most variants as well as MIUI ROM. So there is no worries that you wont ger X rom with Y variant but if you are really picky there are some variant exclusive ROMs that cant be installed on some other variants.
Your best bet would be a D802. It is the international version and you shouldn't have any problems.
Thank you @5ageman and @Orcam
well guys it's at&t D800 model i wasn't exactly sure before asking here
strange thing i heared that D800 has noise cancellation near camera as a difference from D802 model which sadness me for the back covers when trying to get one, idk why they made that stupid difference !!
i got me a d800 no big deal for me the roms i want are there for my device..just make sure the cover has the hole for att phone..

Which stable but speedy and debloated ROM for gf?

Hello everyone,
I personally never owned a Samsung device (always Nexus and mostly with Paranoid Android or Dirty Unicorns ROM) but my girlfriend has one and she defeniately needs it to be flashed :good:
As I am completely new to Samsung devices, I have no idea about all the developers and different ROMs that are out there for the Samsung Note 4 (Snapdragon).
I don't have much time to try around with different ROMs as it isn't my phone.
I need one that is good, stable, fast (and also supports the stylus / samsung apps). So I can flash it quickly and have a happy girlfriend
So that is the reason I an asking in the first place. Else I would just flash around and keep trying until I find the best fit.
I saw CM is officially supporting the Note 4. So that one might be a good solution. But does it have all those stylus samsung stuff?
Any other ROMs I should check out?
Do I need to flash a new radio?
Thanks in advance and sorry for posting another "which ROM" thread. But I can't really test around to find out on my own as it is not my device that I am going to improve !
If n910g, this is highly recommended, although you have to disable or uninstall later all apps that you don't want if you want a debloated rom.

It is N910F.
The link you provided is simply stock android MM?
Yes stock MM, stock is in my experience the most stable and bug free rom build. But the link is for n910g unfortunately.
Stock ROM, and then debloat yourself. Quite honestly speaking, and no offence to anyone, there are no good ROMs available for Note 4. In fact I myself might have not got the phone if I realised the development section is like this. And I am not interested in ported ROMs, so even though there are many available I won't go that way, and I am too dumb to make a ROM for myself, so stock ROM it is.
I agree, stock rom rooted and debloat it, and apply msm tweaks. If you want, xposed as well.

You must flash samsung based rom to have all soen features and samsung apps. I reconnemed kurama rom which in using , its battery friendly, fast and stock based. If you going to flash kurama rom you must flash modem and bootloader for the rom to boot up (only can be flashed from pc with odin)

Why do some custom ROMs work with ALL variants, others just one like G900F

I see a lot of G900F ROMs like Phoenix, and a lot of kernels that say G900F but some, like Ressurection or CM or AICP say they work on all variants. How does that work? Clearly it needs to be the same processor like Qualcomm for ROMs or kernels to be portable to more than one variant, but most are listed as G900F only.
Do the ROMSs that are variant specific over-write bootloader, modem and kernel files with their own files that will only work on THAT variant? Do the ones that say they work on ANY variant omit the bootloader, modem and kernel files and leave the original stock files intact?
Same question with kernels. I have a G900W8, I can't find ANY customer kernels that are made for it, flashed one posted as a 900F kernel (Phoenix) but it's working great for me.
Can anyone give me a primer?

Any Note7 port ROM that work with Verizon?

Hello Everyone,
I've tried almost every N7 port for Note 3 and non of them are compatible.
Not sure if anyone knows or have a way to make those International N7 work on our N900v.
Thanks.
I know that feeling, many roms to install and test but difficult to decide with which to stay
I'll just tell you what to look for
Roms with aroma installer
Installers for camera n3, n4, s5 to select the one you like
Be able to choose the variant of note 3 from aroma
Additional features
rom control
Emojin ..... etc
All or almost, n7 roms work quite well on the n900v, with 4g functions
Roms n7 I've tried phronesis aryamod darklord
There are many roms, just install one and test for a week or two, if you are happy in that time stay with that
see you
Have you flashed the AryaMod ROM? I use it as a daily on my N3 (vzw)

There you go bud
I've flashed the Darklord ROM for the Note 3 onto my Verizon Note 3, although I'm using T-Mobile now. My 4G LTE works fine and everything else, though I had to install some fixes found in the forum of that post. I choose the T-Mobile CSC instead of Verizon.

You've used phronesis? It looks like our Verizon n900v isn't supported. Do you know of a Verizon port?
