H870DSU- MHL, Slimport and Mirrorlink are all not supported - LG G6 Questions and Answers

I have bought an LG G6 Plus (Model: H870DSU) at the end of last year since it was on a decent discount.
However, to my surprise i have found that the phone has no support to video over USB at all. Even LG Mirror Drive doesn't work on it.
Does anyone know if this issue is software or hardware related and whether or not there is a fix for it?
It is really strange that even though this is a "plus" smartphone, it has main features removed from it!

What are the model differences?

I am in need of some help. I recently bought a A500-10S16u but the seller screwed my order up. They are now out of stock and offered me an A500-10S16w instead of the A500-10S16u. Should I accept this? What are the differnces?
I searched on Acer's website but the information seems inaccurate/incomplete. There are several differences, according to Acer's site the W model lacks: NVIDIA GeForce, Dolby Mobile Technology, dual speakers, HDMI and MicroSD memory card reader.
However, according to Walmart's product page the W model has the GeForce, Dolby Mobile and MicroSD reader. Walmart makes no mention of dual speakers or regular HDMI. Plus, I don't think the U model has a regular HDM port (both regular HDMI and micro HDMI are listed as features by Acer).
I'm getting the sense that the two models are identical but the U/W distinction is for different retail channels. Can anyone confirm? Would be very much appreciated!!!
Kind of surprised this hasn't been answered in the FAQ yet.
Never mind, my original post didn't provide as much info as I had hoped. I do think that the two models are essentially identical. The Acer side-by-side comparison shows no missing features between the two. I think you are OK with the "w" version. Price-wise they list the same so that is also a helpful barometer.
I'll take a guess it's a manufacturer specific code. Maybe region or plant.
Hardware should be exactly the same.

[Q] Chinese Brand Smartwatches

I live in China and was considering getting a smart watch here as they are relatively cheap and have begun to make a wider appearance across major internet retailers recently. So I was wondering if anyone here has experience with any Chinese brands and could give me some tips.
I have been looking at the Otium Gear Smart Watch (which can be found on Amazon) as it seems it do well enough for my basic expectations of such a new sort of device (and it is pretty cheap here). I like the idea of the SIM card slot and the camera, mostly as novelties, Bluetooth is good for listening to music wirelessly and general phone connectivity, and I assume I could put my own apps on here, as the real reason I want this is for some mini game emulation on my subway commute.
So if any of you could offer some advice, product reviews or any other information, I would greatly appreciate your help.
I got one from amazon. I have been used these for couple of months. so far so good.

Worth buying k3?

Hello everyone.
I have been looking for phones over the last week and I found this nice phone that's pretty affordable with awesome characteristics . Is k3 worth buying, because since it is so cheap, there must be a problem with it,I guess...
Its a good mid range phone from middle 2015. Buy it if you find one cheap.
Also, there seems to be a batch with many issues with the touch screen (Ive one with a bad screen) and with no support from the company: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/K-and-...h-Screen-Issue-in-Lenovo-K3-Note/td-p/2128737
So in my opinion its a gamble when you buy from Lenovo (because the issue the screen issue is still there with k4 and k5 (or what its called)).

imo, dun buy it.
i bought it based on its spec, very impressive.
regret ever bought it.
dun buy it.
ps:
out-of-box, chinese version will download tons of crappy chinese apps/games once the data connection/wifi is 'ON', b4 u realised/understand wats going on.
all stock apps/games r restricted use for china (restrictly no settings for any other cities out of china).
sound speak is too small, too soft, cant even hear alert/alarm.
usb connection non existence for sd storage, only for charging or otg.
external sd storage another screwed problem, unfriendly usage.
risk brick phone in order to install custom roms, experimental stage not sorted-out teethling problems.
no support from lenovo, retailer support scuks, new phone replace with refurbish phone, etc.
good luck if u wishes to buy lenovo phones.
pss:
seriously wants to buy lenovo k3 note, dun ever buy the chinese version, get the ROW (Rest-Of-World) version.
psss:
screen start to show sign of flickering after six months. damn :-[
Hads mine for nearly a year and it`s been fine, great phone for the price.
You can find it on aliexpress for 90€ shipping included (100$) at this price, its really hard to get such a good device.
About all the chinese stuff inside, just flash international android 6 and it will be more clean and you get play store
Also this device has huge comminuty and now we start to see Cyanogenmod running quite good
Even right now, its the best device you can get for 100$ !
And if it break after a year or two, you need to remember you just paid 100$ for it

Why do only two watches have NFC ?

Why do only two watches have NFC ?
Little worried if anything happened to my LG Sport, at this point the watch is hard to find for sale online.
The Huawei Watch 2 the other watch I was not crazy about the small screen and I do not know how long Best Buy will carry it.
No NFC = No Android Pay, something I use everyday.
Hopefully in the 2018 trade-shows somebody announces something
Well the wear24 has the hardware, but Verizon did not enable it
There are a few others but two are expensive, Movado Connect and Tag Heuer. The third is the LG Urbane 2nd Edition, my watch for the last couple of years. Still not very many choices. I use Android Pay all the time and if my watch broke I'd have to settle for getting the same model refurbished/used. Not sure why it isn't standard at this point for new watches.

S8 Active usb-c to hdmi

Hello, sorry if this is being asked in the wrong section but I couldn't find a S8 Active forum. My question is does the active support usb-c to hdmi output like the S8 and S8+? Only reason I ask is because when I look up the usb-c to hdmi adapter on Samsung site and click supported devices it only lists the s8 and s8+, however when I look up the s8 active on Samsung site and click supported accessories it lists the usb-c to hdmi adapter. I would imagine it would,, since its supposed to be basically the same phone but want to be 100% sure before I buy one. This is a make or break option and the reason I want this phone in particular is because I have a wireless charger in my truck and my s7 edge only works when I take it out of the case. This is a hassle to deal with taking the case off and putting it back on and it's too thin for me to handle without a case plus it would scratch easy without a case. The active doesn't need a case. Does anyone know for certain that the usb-c to hdmi adapter will work with the s8 active.
The Samsung USB-C to HDMI adapter works fine for me on S8 Active.

Is yours the AT&T U.S. version or the European version? I only ask, because they have different chipsets with slightly different features., and I want to make sure before shelling out around $40 for the Samsung adapter.
I use this on my AT&T S8+ on TV's at home and hotels all the time.

Mine is working with the US At&T version.
ahurst12, are you using the S8 Active or the S8/S8+? Several vendors on Amazon selling USB-C to HDMI adapters have responded to people on the Questions/ Answers stating that the S8 Active doesn't output to HDMI. I have an S8 active and none of the HDMI adapters I've bought work.
If anyone using ONLY an S8 active has a working HDMI adapter, please post the brand and link to the product to help the rest of us.
Thank you sincerely
DarkNighttx, I'm using the Galaxy S8 Active, At&t version running nougut.
I don't have a link for it, but the USB C to HDMI adapter that is working for me was purchased from the Samsung website. It was listed for the 8 and 8+, but works fine on my Active.
