Hi guys,
Not sure of this wss covered already but i was unable to locate anything that helps
I currently have a Galaxy Note 3 n9005 international LTE version with stock kitkat installed 4.4.2. The phone is rooted which i did upon receiving it and have super user 2.0 installed. i have confirmed root with titanium back.
Now i wanted to try a custom rom and tried to install the new phillz touch recovery but observed that it kept failing in odin (tried several times) i even tried to install a custom recovery via ROM Manager which it said the update was complete but when ever i boot into recovery mode i keep get the stock android recovery.
i have search and cannot find anything that help so here i am.
My Android version N9005XXUENC2 AND Kernel version is 3.4.0-636608 dpi @SWDD5619 #1
From my understanding once u root it should have install a custom recovery. When i got the phone it came with Jelly bean 4.3 and i rooted then updated to kitkat, could this be the issue. Does that mean i have root again?
Any assistance given is greatly appreciated.
Install CWM 6.0.4.7 by Chinglu via pc odn (tar)
Then if you wantvto change to Philz, install Ohilz (zip) through custom recovery
Sent from my SM-N9005
I've installed The Two Lollipop roms we have so far (Not counting the Stock one) But It seems that, If i install Xposed by Odin the NI2 Kernel installing Xposed in SS then reboot directly to Download then Odin back the OA8 Kernel, My Galaxy will just stay on the Boot screen with a Blue Notification light on the entire time, I want to enjoy lollipop but Xposed is the only thing holding me back.

I tried many options form this site to root my Galaxy S5 SM-G900W8 but I couldn't make it. Root doesn't work. When I returned on 5.0 version root works without problem. Does somebody know if there is root for Lollipop 5.1.1?
Thanks
Here you go.
1: Odin flash the TWRP recovery provided in my post.
2: Download and TWRP flash both files (Kernel and SU) in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/canadian-users-g900w8-discussion-t3228804
3: Hit thanks button in above link
4: Enjoy root.
Hey guys,
So yesterday i had a NIGHTMARE.
I had a note 4 running on 5.0.1 which was rooted with CF Auto Root. I decided i wanted to install TWRP. I flashed it with odin using the version i thought would be correct. But ended up NOT being able to boot my phone and being stuck on the Samsung Logo screen with the SEANDROID red error message.
I tried everything and eventually just downloaded the STOCK 5.0.1 rom and flashed it with Odin and my phone was back to normal.
I now need to Re-root my phone again and hopefully get twrp installed.
My main question is which version of TWRP should i use?
Also when i look at the CF Auto Root page, i see for the SM-910U they seem to only have a file for 5.1.1. So does that mean i should update from 5.0.1 - 5.1.1. first before rooting?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Yes, you should update.
Look for twrp at xda. There are threads about twrp for note4
