I don't want the ability to uninstall any app from the home screen. Can I disable this feature and even perhaps lock all the apps' placement (like as in a profile)?
Is it possible?
Running VS995 LG V20
Thanks.
Mine has been this way since the 10r update. You can probably find a different home launcher that doesnt have that option

I've seen a few people mention reluctance moving onto a 3rd party launcher because you lose the ability to turn off your screen by double tapping but there is a way you can do this with Nova and or other third party launchers with gesture controls.
1) Download a free app called Screen Off from Google Play and set it up
2) Set your Double Tap setting to launch Screen Off
Your screen will now turn off just as if you were using the LG launcher.
Alternatively, and with no need for a third party app, just double tap the status (notifications) bar

Or also at the navigation bar with tweaksbox.
Nova launcher comes with gestures where you can set to double tap anywhere to screen off.

Actually it doesn't (unless you're rooted maybe?)
Gestures that you can setup in native Nova do not include screen off.

Correct.....
The only way to do this is with a third-party app which I explained to everyone (thank you by the way for your thanks) in a different topic here.
For me, I just have xposed>gravity box
and go to nova sett.>gestures(need prime)>double-tap>shortcuts>gravity box>screen off.
DONE.

Where is "actions"? I only see Nova, Apps, Shortcuts. And I have Prime.

I have not been able to get the double tap gesture in nova to work at all. I've tried setting it to multiple different actions or apps, and no matter how fast or slow I double tap nothing happens. All other gestures work fine. For the time being I've settled with double swiping down to activate Screen Off.
Has anyone else had this problem with their G3 and Nova?

Look at my post above (post 6 in this topic) and click on the link I give.
This will take you to the topic where I mention what app to install and what actions you need to carry out in order to make it work.
Works fine for me. So far I have never pressed the power button on my G3.
Action Launcher Pro supports Double Tap to lock screen feature.
The problem I am facing with nova, apex...etc that I have exchange security enabled by my employer, all the guesters and third party apps that i tried is locking the phone with the Pin not just shutting the screen, the double tab on the stock launcher shuts the screen but does not lock the phone.
Did anyone find a work around using third party launcher or app ?
Thanks

Sorry Shortcuts
KK Launcher is pretty comparable to Nova and Apex, and it has native support built into it to double-tap your screen to turn the screen off. I've been using this launcher with my Nexus 5 for a while now and have been quite happy with it (compared to Nova). (I'm supposed to get my G3 later today, so I can't speak as to how KK Launcher performs on it yet).

That's exactly why I use the Touchdown app for my exchange mail. Don't have to worry about the exchange security requirement taking over my darn phone...

I believe the latest beta version of G3 TweaksBox has a setting to get around the security features when using Exchange. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2792242
Thanks a million, its working like charm, now i can use whatever launcher.
I have Nova as well and works fine just double tapping the status bar. Seemingly works better than LG'S...
Seams like there are a lot of different ways that everyone has to do this.
For me, I have been using Tasker to get double tap off with Nova Launcher gestures since the G2. Tasker is such a great app with about a million uses, I highly recommend everyone check it out. I have it setup to auto connect to different wifi's depending on my location, adjust screen brightness/ringer volumes depending on the time of day, and many others.
Action launcher is the best
How to remove the app drawer like s7 http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/galaxy-s7-remove-app-drawer/
on Lolipop S6 ports
just pretend, if your launcher has an option to automatically put icons on the home screen choose that (or do it in playstore settings). then if it let's you, remove the app draw icon from your launcher dock or switch to a launcher that will let you. although it's fugly as all hell so I don't know why anyone would want to.

It isn't possible without a third party launcher.
This no launcher trend was introduced only recently with the release of the S7 and G5, and both run Marshmallow. So I don't think it's available for lollipop unless someone ports the feature.

You do realize that it is possible to create app shortcuts on the home screen, right? Every launcher has this.
And he may have removed the app drawer icon somehow. I'm sure exposed has some options for customizing the touchwiz launcher.

I highly doubt touchwiz lollipop has the option to disable the app drawer and make it iOS-like, because I never heard anything about it until the S7 and G5 came out. But both are running marshmallow.
If there really was such a feature on touchwiz lollipop, people would have discovered it sooner.
What you saw in the video is probably some modifications done by the youtuber (Xposed or something).

Galaxy A8 launcher: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/themes-apps/hot-note-5-apps-style-port-t3182299 has this option: long press > Home screen settings (where is wallpapers, widgets, themes, screen grid) > Home screen content > Show all apps on Home screen, but it doesn't work (nothing happens)
I have installed Nova on my LG G6 and looks that everything is ok except one thing: there is no possibility to add stock calendar widget because it's not listed on widgets list. Can anybody confirm that?

Yes, and it also removes the stock weather widget which I happen to like. I also noticed that that since gestures like double tapping the screen to turn it off are a premium feature it breaks that stock LG function and you can't enable it unless you buy the premium version of Nova. I as planning on buying it anyway to support the developer but that's kind of lame.

Even then the double tap feature isn't the same to shut off phone. Does something to permissions and I forget the warning. I just double tap the notification bar which taps off the screen just the same, plus that works from any application, not just the home screen.

That's good to know. Thanks for the tip.
I was testing some launcher (Smart Launcher 3 Pro) and it is permanently showing the home buttons.
I disabled it on the Hide Home Button setting, but after removing the app the home buttons are permanently showing on my stock launcher.
What am I missing, how do I revert it to normal?
I've practically enabled hide home button on every app but its stuck on my stock launcher

I'm sorry I don't understand your question. Are you trying to get rid of your navigation bar? Or just on certain app?
Let me rephrase it.
I was testing a downloaded launcher which has the home buttons permanently shown.
After uninstalling and reverting to the stock launcher, the home buttons were stuck to being shown permanently.
Im talking about home button on the launcher not on apps
I even tried hiding all the home buttons on all apps, but since my issue is with my stock launcher. It didn't work

If you're rooted system app remover, titanium backup would also do it (I'm pretty sure) you're best bet is honestly just disabling it if you can I'm not sure if removing it will break anything.
i am not rooted.
and the disable option in app settings is disabled.

If all you are worried about is the icon on the home screen, press and hold the OnePlus Dialer dialer icon until it is selected and move it to "Remove" at the top of the screen.
