Does odin detect your phone ( you can tell by checking top left area of odin below id:com, there will be something like 0:[com5] )?
When you load the file in AP/PDA slot, did it says MD5 finished successfully?
yes odin detects it ok and says checking md5 finished successfully
Reactivation lock is off in download mode?

Hi,
I want to flash new modem for my phone but since I got the new bootloader it doesnt work anymore for flashing with mobile odin
I got the error message: "memory protection in place, skipping flash" after my phone reboots and mobile odin is trying to flash it.
Now... that sucks as with pc odin it just doesnt work, tried it dozens of times with different versions
I hope someone knows a workaway around this as the current modem is bad signal
grtz! jody
You can also use Heimdall to flash the modem you want.
Odin should just work though.

With recent ROMs, only Odin 3.09 work correctly.
Secondly, have you tried flashing via recovery?

Hi
Flashed CM12 and all was good, but i didnt get 4G+ with it and couldnt get the gear s to connect. So i downloaded a file from sammobile to get it to 5.0.1. Started up odin3 v1.85 and it says failed everytime. on the cell it says "odin : invalid ext4 image" Anyone that could point me in the right direction? Trying to download an older version now 4.4.4 and that didnt work either... Someone please help me?

Lol I wish I had an s6 as a "backup phone". Anyway, try a different version of Odin. 1.85 is way old. 3.07 & 3.09 work pretty well. Also try downloading the firmware again, perhaps some part of it got corrupted. If nothing else there is a flashable version of lollipop, you could flash it (or restore a TouchWiz backup if you have one) to get it back on TouchWiz and then Odin it. (Sometimes I've had trouble with Odin coming back from cm/aosp roms so I flashed a TW rom & Odin worked fine)

You never said u put the phone in Download mode...did you??? Cheers:fingers-crossed:
If not...remember power off...then...power+home+volume down all together...the open odin...3.09...
Take a look at my posts on page 3 of this thread.

It seems like your problem is the same as mine. Does Odin fail on the hidden.img.ext4 with an error about incorrect image size?
If it does, try flashing a ROM with your original CSC.
If that produces the same error, flash one with a smaller hidden.img.ext4 file. The BTU ROM seems to have a quite small one.
By the way, what's your original CSC?
Can i kiss you???
way forward
Can i flash 5.0.1 now or does it come OTA??
Here is how i boot looped my phone, I rooted it by following this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039 and I rooted it successfully. The I needed to unroot my phone and tried following the unroot method on that thread. But I got an error with odin saying "FAIL! (AUTH)" and thought it was the version I was using. So i tried downloading a few different versions and tried the latest update for the s7 and it failed which boot looped my phone. And if i hold power + Volume Up + Home it says recovery booting.... and keeps doing that over and over. so that doesnt work. All i want to do at this point is get my phone unboot looped and unrooted If anybody can help. please do. BTW i have the SM-G930V

Try loading all 4 files in odin 3.12 as starting fresh. Qa4 should be available. Or look at some of the posts in the bs free thread and see if any of this workarounds work

Try getting the qa2 files off updato.com and flashing those. May be a bad dl that is causing your problem. If it flashed the tmo files with no issue, then that's the only thing i can think of

Yes, flash all those listed. It should fix your issue if all files are correct. If you have an issue with home csc, try the base csc and factory reset

You're welcome
I recently received a Samsung Galaxy S4 from my friend as my old phone broke. When i got it, i tried to go into recovery mode and it didn't work and ended up in going in a boot loop. Every time i try and go on recovery mode it says "movinand checksum confirmation fail", so last night i decided to run Odin and flash new firmware on the device and every time i tried to flash it, it says "There is no PIT partition", so i looked around for some pits and i tried flashing them with the firmware, by themselves and i even changed to 3 different cords and when i do it keeps saying "re-repartition operation failed". I have spent way to long on this and i need help!!!
Have you tried using an original Samsung USB cable? Tried different USB ports?

Where did you get the stock ROM? You are flashing the ROM as a single file in the PDA/AP slot?

I tried two different stock ROMS, 1st from sammobile (it was a Optus Australia Rom for GT-I9505) PA and another rom for Samsung Galaxy S4 with BL,PA,CP,CSC and neither of them worked. Yes i used the PDA/PA spot on both Odin 3.07 and 3.12

Honestly, I don't think anyone can help here. You want to have a tech look at it, but I believe the flash memory may have failed. It would explain both why you can't get into recovery as well as why you get errors saying there is no pit partition and re-partition failed in Odin.

Either the memory is damaged or the pit file is not correct, or both.
Jtag may be the only solution.

Could you provide me with a correct pit File for "Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 Australia, Telstra"
And if that doesn't work i will learn about Jtag and try and perform it.
I'm not sure which pit would be correct as I don't have this phone. I am in Canada and this phone was not for sale here.

I have tried following that article a couple of times, yet the PIT they provided isn't for my region
Pit files are not usually region specific.

Well i have tried all available PITS file included here:
JFLTE_EUR_OPEN.pit
JFLTE_EUR_OPEN_16G.pit
9505.pit
CSB_signed_Fusion3_EUR_0325_V2.pit
None of them worked, so i don't know anymore might try a JTAG connection test (first time)
I get the exact same error in odin "there is no pit partition" when i try to flash Kitkat rom/ custom recovery/ root in odin.
Yeh, still haven't been able to fix my problem
hi.my phone was same problem.did you fixed your phone?
