Hello,
When people call me I speak through BT and they sound loud an clear. However when I try to listen to a voicemail I have to be in a dead silent room to even remotely make out what they are saying when playing back through Bluetooth. I have the BT volume turned all the way up. I switch to speaker, they are loud and clear. I'm not sure if this is an android issue or an LG issue.
Also no problem with google driving directions through Bluetooth. THe only time BT is too quiet is when playing back voicemails. I have to switch to speakers every time.
How do you listen to voicemails? Through phone by dialing the voicemail number or through a voicemail app?
Good question. It turns out that the apps is what is quiet. When I dial *86 my voicemail is loud and clear. Any suggestions (other than not using the VM app)?
I ended up trying another VM app and it didn't have the volume issue. Thanks for pinpointing the source of the issue.
Glad it's fixed. Ive only ever tried the T-Mobile voicemail app and it works alright except for the fact that it doesn't turn the screen off when trying to listen to the voicemail and if I manually turn off the screen then it stops playing so the only way I can listen with activating stuff with my face is speaker mode or Bluetooth headset.

anyone else experienced this? what happens is that during a call while using hands free, when an incoming call comes in, it automatically shifts the current call to loudspeaker, and switches itself back one the phone stops ringing :/
funny you should say that, it happend to me for the first time today, just as you described
same for me - got a text while listening to music and found out the sound came out from the speaker :S
I had a similar but slightly different problem yesterday. I was trying to listen to music with bt headphones - the music cam out of the speaker, but system sounds were coming through BT headset.
soft reset did not help, turning off bt headset and powering it again fixed it.
I had a same problem. It was really annoying. I searched a bit and found that setting the key "\\\registry\HKCU\Control Panel\SoundCategories\Ring\Speaker" to 0 solves the problem.

does that stop it ringing from the speaker altogether or just with headphones?
Just with headphones.
Cheers
I love everything about my Epic, except the Visual Voicemail is almost unusable for me. The audio level is so low I can barely hear it, whether I use it normally or in speakerphone mode. This is the only application that has this problem. I have no issues on calls with either speaker. It's hard for me to imagine I'm the only one having this problem, yet I can't find any other threads that mention it. Is my phone the only one with this issue?
Thanks.
Your volume turned up?
Sent from my Emotionless Beast of an Epic using the XDA App
I also have the same problem! It doesn't even connect to my bluetooth headset
Same here. Every possible volume it turned all the way up and I can barely hear my voicemails through either the speaker or the earpiece. What gives?
Ok, this is my problem, I just got the phone, did a factory reset and then I put my SIM, it gets a good signal and 4G network, I installed all my apps and everything was great, but when I tried to make a test call it seems like the call ends, I only hear the first beep and the sound is gone (but the call is still going), I cant hear the other person, they also cant hear me, I've tried Groove IP and it works great, on the earpiece, headphones, etc. both mics work great, I cant get any sound when calling using the dialer, there is a beep and the earpiece sound is gone.
I also get the "Conditional call forwarding active" pop up.
Any insight on this? :crying:
Thanks
I've been having this issue since I started using the visual voicemail app. I can only listen to my voicemail through the speaker. If I put the phone to my ear while the voicemail is playing the screen will turn off like you're in a phone call and the then the voicemail will pause. Is this an issue with anyone else?
I have a Blue Parrot headset, I've used it for the last two years or so, it worked great with my V10. On the Essential (nougat) the ringing when making a call is so faint I can't hear it while driving, I can't hear it go to voicemail either. However once the other side answers I can hear fine. If I turn the volume all the way up I can hear the rings, but when they answer its extremely loud. I've tried toggling the bluetooth in settings, I've re-paired the headset, and rebooted several times. Any ideas? I seem to remember having this issue on my last Blue Parrot with my S3, but I don't remember the fix.
