Hi all, since I bought this phone I've a really annoying problem with WA. When I've WA open in a chat and switch apps from multitasking (eg switching from WA to Instagram)and then return to WA from multitasking agaun, my phone freezes for like 5 seconds becoming unresponsive (sometimes even the power button wont work). I have no idea what's happening, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling WA several times but nlthing changed. I tried also take a logcat but the only thing I found it this line:
Code:
InputDispatcher: Waiting for application to become ready for input: 29556. Reason: Waiting because the touched window's input channel is full. Outbound queue length: 1. Wait queue length: 104
...
InputDispatcher: Waiting for application to become ready for input: 29556. Reason: Waiting to send non-key event because the touched window has not finished processing certain input events that were delivered to it over 500.0ms ago. Wait queue length: 27. Wait queue head age: 575.5ms.
Do you have any advices?

My 2020 is soon to be 2 weeks old, and has been placed as a DOA.
Still, there is som problems that I would like to know about before getting the new one.
I've tried to search, but I'm going to admit that my english isn't that good.
Problems with the device;
Active Sync pops up when sending MMS. Eror message "Communication Error"
This also came when I tried to sync it with mye Acer Travelmate.
When calling out, there sometimes starts to blink blue on the left side of the 2020. I know that it shows Bluetooth on. The only problem is that I've never turned it on.
When sending sms, it somtimes comes with the Dialer screen and following messages
"unsupported pin"
"unsupported sim-status"
The return button (on the screen) sometimes stops working
When using the expansion pack I experience that the Device slows down (too much)
There is no respons at all and after som minutes it's impossible to use.
update: is it supposed to use almost 30 minutes or more to backup 30MB to a CF card?
Device slows down and dosen't respond, hangs and almost goes to a complete stop before starting to work again. This can happen just like that.
There is no innstalled programs running, it starts when Active Sync is running in the background.
and there is 125MB free with memory.
Just today I have started experiencing a problem:
If I am in a program and need to open the keyboard to type something it will switch to landscape mode and then almost immediately the unit switches to the today screen. Closing the keyboard and reopening the program in question brings me back to the screen I was trying to type in, but then it goes back to the today screen. The active program will not stay on the screen long enough to do anything.
If, while in portrait mode, I use my task switcher to reopen the program I can get it to stay open. But once I open the keyboard again it immediately goes to the today screen. It will then do this for every program I open. Once open for a second or 2 it goes to the today screen. A soft reset does not help. Powering down and restarting from the power button clears it up and I can open programs and use them. But as soon as I open the keyboard again it does the above!!
Any ideas? I have not recently installed any new programs. And like I said this Just started today. I can't use the phone like this. I am loathing a hard reset because I have the unit set up the way I need for day to day work and it will take me about 3 hours to set it back up (since stupid MS removed the built in, free, back up program!)
So I need help. Thanks in advance
Narrowed it down a bit more
It seems to happen when ever the keyboard is slid, open or closed.
If in portrait and opening keyboard it will go to today screen. If in landscape and closing keyboard it will go to today screen.
Now, when it goes to the today screen if I then re-open the software with the icon on the today screen the program remains active and I can do what I need. But as soon as the keyboard moves it goes back to the today screen...
So from the lack or responses do I assume that no one else has experienced this problem? Is this a new one?
I searched the forum and found no other reference to it.....
Anybody?
Lack of responses?!? You only waited 1 hour and 42 minutes since you posted the question! It's customary to wait at least 24 hours before you bump your own topic.
Was more like 13 hours, not 1hour and 42 minutes
I posted the question at about 11pm LAST night. I asked about responses at about 12:44 pm TODAY. That is almost 14 hours....
No it is not 24 hours. But so many other questions seem to get answers with in a few hours no matter what time of day it was posted. I saw that something like 25 people had viewed it at that point and I thought I would ask....................
I use for my phone in my business and it is frustrating to use right now (if not almost impossible) . And with the prospect of a 3 hour rebuild time after a hard reset I wanted entertain other ideas first. So I asked before 24 hours was up 'cause I gotta make a decision soon as to what course of action to take......
OK.
so basically apart from the constant lag with the threaded messages above 100 or so, my phone will get to a point where if it was in the sms app and locks, if i try to unlock my fone will freeze up. I can only navigate through the menu function and cant access the home screen at all. The only way to fix this is to pull out battery each time. Does anyone else know how to fix this? Ive changed to classic sms thread mode to stop this from happening but its pretty persistent
Use ROM 1.66 and all should be good!
i had 6000+ sms on my device, about 10 days ago my hd2 started to freeze regulary. investigations showed that the process "services.exe" exceeded 20mb memory usage, and after that the all "services" (same thing as in "real" windows, e.g. Seven) were unavailable. best thing to diagnose: switch to the music tab and change the volume. if the htc overlay (the horizontal green bar) doesn't appear, then the "services.exe" freezed.
did't find much usefull at the different forums, but it looks like as windows mobile has a 20mb ram limitation for processes, and if you exceed a certain amout of sms then the services.exe will crash (perhaps a kill -9 which doesnt work) at some indexing job...
my solution:
install micrsosoft myphone, and have only a total of max. 300 sms on the device. this solved my lag problems and the freezing to 100%...

markus
Hi TML1504!
I've got 4000+ sms'es on my device and services.exe goes wild all the time. It takes up 70% in an average and slows down the whole phone. I've just imported the 3000+ extra sms'es and services.exe whent skyhigh in cpu usage, but its mem-conumption is no more than 10mb. Havent frozen either, music tab still controls volume with buttons. How did you manage to get a stable HD2 with that many sms? I've tried mine 4000+ with each ROM and it goes to overload each time.
I get services.exe slow downs all the time! I have disabled facebook auto updates and htc new stle conversation messaging seems ok ish now, but leaving it on over night always results in it laggy in the morning im so bored of reseting my phone now!
sorry forget that running slow again services.exe going between 32 and 50% cpu usage and 17mb of memory so fed up. All i have done is an active sync, before that it was fine only been an hour since i last had to reset!
Hmmm... Seems to be the same problem I have... It's intermittent, but happens more often than I like. I find it occurs when I've been left the phone on my messaging screen, and then leave it and S2U2 activates. When it unlocks, I get a black screen except for top and bottom bars. Pressing the windows menu key brings up the menu, and I can navigate that, and I reset my phone. I've got about 1000 sms's, and I'm running the standard 1.66 ROM.
i have the same problem as reported... intermittent... time to remove some sms
I'm having SMS freezes on my TMoUS HD2. I have far less than 1000 messages on the phone. I'm hopeful a solution is found.
Does anyone got noticeable delay in start of the call when tap contact from the call history list?
I suspect it started after latest (1.31.405.4) ROM installation and happens periodically - you just tap the contact and nothing happens (sometimes at all but sometimes it reacts after minute or so and suddenly starts to call).
There could be at least two causes:
1. No reaction on actual "tap" (hard to explain why it finally calls sometimes but I noticed that Call button could give different reactions comparing to clicks on actual contact)
2. Process that executes call is doing something in the background (freeing up memory? restarting? doing some sync?)
After it "breaks through" it works for some time seamlessly - you just touch the contact and it calls immediately but after some time (even after phone reboot) the glitch is back
NB. I uninstalled almost all apps (including beautiful Timeriffic) I've got from Android Market and prey it's not related to the Exchange Sync and apps around it... Let's see if I still have problem tomorrow.
same problem i got. any solution pls tell.

Same problem
it could be a memory leak or something who knows,
the phone hasnt been out for long and there may be more updates comming.
plus if its a performance problem then when android 2.2 comes out with the JIT compiler it should be faster
lifeis, do you have any applications (in addition to pre-installed) on your device?
Version 1
The more I observe situations when dialer "hangs" the more I suspect that it happens due to some synchronization. Already several times I noticed such behavior starts when "data" icon indicates some outgoing traffic but nothing comes back (no active incoming arrow). Could it be that it tries to sync contact (with Exchange? Twitter? Facebook? Gmail?) and at the OS level it sees that network is "available" (somebody here already complained about similar issues) so needs to time-out instead of skip that attempt and proceed with requested operation immediately?
mee too
Today i notice that when i press the contact and after i pres power button screen goes and comes and phone starts dialing. I think sync cause this. May be latest update they can solve this. I had a hero and hero did n't have problem like that.
Dialer lag present on my device aswell. its not often and oddly happens when no apps are running in background. I think it conflicts with whatever sync services may be syncing at the time one tries to make a call

Same with mine. There is also a lag when I press the "Sync All' immediately after a WiFi connection is established.
Hope they fix this as it is quite annoying. And also make Maps 4 "officially" available to Legend.
Same problem
I started after updating the legend software!
Anyone have a solution?
Is it possible to go back to earlier software?

Does anyone willing to try? Not sure that I'm ready to spend another half a day restoring all settings and configurations after factory reset (also suspect that chances to succeed are not too high)...
Ah c'mon! that's like "hey do you have a problem with one application in windows? Ok that's the solution: go to ms dos and then type "format c:\"....
Ridiculus. HTC should just understand what's going on and release an update!
The reset actually works. I have not re-installed all of the applications i had before and did not use the backup file to restore the phone in its previous state so the dissappearence of the lag might be due to some setting being restored to default, but whatever the reason, the legend is now much faster.
Factory reset
Have you also installed latest ROM after factory reset?

Actually the update was still there after the reset - I didn't have to update again.
More observations
Interesting observations:
You try to call - dialer hangs
If you return to home screen you see that widget time is correct while status string on the top shows "outdated" time
If you try to browse some web page it connects and you see the content - I got feeling that this is some kind of "break thorough" since after that -->
Time at the status string gets updated
Almost immediately after that phone starts calling
Reset
Gave up and did factory reset - took couple of hours to restore it to the wanted state. Let's see if that solves the problem or I get issue back after returning configuration to the desired state.
Last observation I did before reset: problem disappears (or minimizes?) if I keep WiFi off - especially if Legend sees some network around but isn't connected. The same applies if it unsuccessfully tries to connect to some faulty router - most probably dialer lag starts after that...
Hi everybody,
Factory reset helped here. I didn't make lots of tests but after 3 days of using I didn't notice the lag.

Michal

Hi everyone,
I had the same problem and the factory reset helped me,too.
I believe that either the rom update or one of the applications I have installed was causing the problem.
Now I will begin re-installing all the applications I had before and see if the problem will reappear again.

It appears that storing (remembering) wifi networks slows down connecting to any of them when present. When I only have one network remembered connecting to it is almost instant, while as soon as I remember other network setting, connecting to same network is much slower, even if is the only one present.
Dear all,
I have searched for topics like this, but I didnt found something.
My TPT actually works very slow. This issue is new for me. I rooted and updated to latest version half a year ago and it works fine for me.
But since a week I have seriously trouble:
- the TPT reacts very slow - sometimes 10 seconds after starting an app, switching to another app, entering a website name in browser
- sometimes the window to choice "warten"/"wait" or "abbrechen"/"cancel" will be displayed?
- so all the interactions needs much response time. Sometime f.i.when I enter text it works... but stops after 5-10 letters and comes back after seconds.
What I have found out, the system every time has traffic on the WLAN.
Do you have ideas to try?
Thanks in advance & BR
