After updating Nokia 6 to Oreo, I noticed that during incoming calls the screens stays on only for 4 seconds and then it goes black. It's still possible to answer the call by unlocking the phone first but it requires an additional action. Is it just me or is it the same for all other Oreo users? Is it possible to prevent the screen from going black?

Ño buddy, its not for all, may be it happens because u didn't make a clean flash, i may suggest u some steps, if it still occurs then reply back
1. First reset your dialer app, by long pressing it and then open app info and clear its data and then update it from play store. And then give a try..
2. If it doesn't work then
Try to factory reset from recovery menu(if it is available), if not then reset it from setting..
3. If it still occurs, then goto to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-6/how-to/guide-oreo-follow-steps-t3723776
And follow all instructions carefully..
Hit thanks button if you find this useful..
Happy flashing.
I have the same problem, usually reboot helps me for a while. I hope this issue will be fixed in final oreo release.

Does anyone got noticeable delay in start of the call when tap contact from the call history list?
I suspect it started after latest (1.31.405.4) ROM installation and happens periodically - you just tap the contact and nothing happens (sometimes at all but sometimes it reacts after minute or so and suddenly starts to call).
There could be at least two causes:
1. No reaction on actual "tap" (hard to explain why it finally calls sometimes but I noticed that Call button could give different reactions comparing to clicks on actual contact)
2. Process that executes call is doing something in the background (freeing up memory? restarting? doing some sync?)
After it "breaks through" it works for some time seamlessly - you just touch the contact and it calls immediately but after some time (even after phone reboot) the glitch is back
NB. I uninstalled almost all apps (including beautiful Timeriffic) I've got from Android Market and prey it's not related to the Exchange Sync and apps around it... Let's see if I still have problem tomorrow.
same problem i got. any solution pls tell.

Same problem
it could be a memory leak or something who knows,
the phone hasnt been out for long and there may be more updates comming.
plus if its a performance problem then when android 2.2 comes out with the JIT compiler it should be faster
lifeis, do you have any applications (in addition to pre-installed) on your device?
Version 1
The more I observe situations when dialer "hangs" the more I suspect that it happens due to some synchronization. Already several times I noticed such behavior starts when "data" icon indicates some outgoing traffic but nothing comes back (no active incoming arrow). Could it be that it tries to sync contact (with Exchange? Twitter? Facebook? Gmail?) and at the OS level it sees that network is "available" (somebody here already complained about similar issues) so needs to time-out instead of skip that attempt and proceed with requested operation immediately?
mee too
Today i notice that when i press the contact and after i pres power button screen goes and comes and phone starts dialing. I think sync cause this. May be latest update they can solve this. I had a hero and hero did n't have problem like that.
Dialer lag present on my device aswell. its not often and oddly happens when no apps are running in background. I think it conflicts with whatever sync services may be syncing at the time one tries to make a call

Same with mine. There is also a lag when I press the "Sync All' immediately after a WiFi connection is established.
Hope they fix this as it is quite annoying. And also make Maps 4 "officially" available to Legend.
Same problem
I started after updating the legend software!
Anyone have a solution?
Is it possible to go back to earlier software?

Does anyone willing to try? Not sure that I'm ready to spend another half a day restoring all settings and configurations after factory reset (also suspect that chances to succeed are not too high)...
Ah c'mon! that's like "hey do you have a problem with one application in windows? Ok that's the solution: go to ms dos and then type "format c:\"....
Ridiculus. HTC should just understand what's going on and release an update!
The reset actually works. I have not re-installed all of the applications i had before and did not use the backup file to restore the phone in its previous state so the dissappearence of the lag might be due to some setting being restored to default, but whatever the reason, the legend is now much faster.
Factory reset
Have you also installed latest ROM after factory reset?

Actually the update was still there after the reset - I didn't have to update again.
More observations
Interesting observations:
You try to call - dialer hangs
If you return to home screen you see that widget time is correct while status string on the top shows "outdated" time
If you try to browse some web page it connects and you see the content - I got feeling that this is some kind of "break thorough" since after that -->
Time at the status string gets updated
Almost immediately after that phone starts calling
Reset
Gave up and did factory reset - took couple of hours to restore it to the wanted state. Let's see if that solves the problem or I get issue back after returning configuration to the desired state.
Last observation I did before reset: problem disappears (or minimizes?) if I keep WiFi off - especially if Legend sees some network around but isn't connected. The same applies if it unsuccessfully tries to connect to some faulty router - most probably dialer lag starts after that...
Hi everybody,
Factory reset helped here. I didn't make lots of tests but after 3 days of using I didn't notice the lag.
Regards,
Michal

Hi everyone,
I had the same problem and the factory reset helped me,too.
I believe that either the rom update or one of the applications I have installed was causing the problem.
Now I will begin re-installing all the applications I had before and see if the problem will reappear again.

It appears that storing (remembering) wifi networks slows down connecting to any of them when present. When I only have one network remembered connecting to it is almost instant, while as soon as I remember other network setting, connecting to same network is much slower, even if is the only one present.
Hi, since the recent L update, whenever I pull down the notifications panel from top, the screen turns off within 5 or so seconds, no matter what I am doing. I have changed the Screen Light to "Always On" and the Screen Timeout is 5 minutes, I can't seem to figure out why it's doing that.

Hello, I really can't figure out why this is hap[pening to you, as I tried to recreate your problem. But there is always a chance that after OTA update things got messed up. I always do a full whipe after updates (be it OTA or ODIN) If no one comes with a solution your best chance is to factory reset and see if it helped...I know for many of us this is a big hassle , but at the end of the day you have a clean and more snappyer phone. Best of luck!

I did a hard reset, that worked, thanks.
I am glad it helped. Best of luck in the near future and enjoy your lollipop flavoured smartphone. Cheers.

Hi everyone!
So I just had this problem after I woke up yesterday. I googled a lot but only found similiar problems.
Let me tell you what happened chronologically:
After turning the phone on in the morning it started updating apps as if I was doing a firmware update: "updating apps 1 of 135" etc. Note that my nexus was already running on 5.1.1 and had the latest updates installed.
Now it randomly freezes the screen on whatever screen it was before it happens and it won't respond to any touch input. This can also happen when not using the phone, then it will freeze at the lockscreen (the time freezes with it so sometimes i can see at what time it froze). Also, it loses connection with Wi-Fi as i'm using Whatsapp Desktop when i'm on my laptop and it mentions me that my phone is not connected.
The only thing that "fixes" (temporarily) it is a reboot. Now sometimes, on the lockscreen, i can just hold the power button and the pop-up comes in to turn the phone of, which i can somehow just tap on an it responds by turning the phone off. But sometimes (less frequent than the latter mentioned) the pop-up doesn't come in and holding the power button for a few secs will do the trick.
I hope I informed you all enough and my end question is: does any of you know what this is? How i can fix it or what i can do to prevent it or anything as I am hopeless. (my G3 is up for reparation so this is my sisters old phone, i had a nexus 4 myself for 2 years before the G3).
Thanks in advance!!
The best way to test it is by reformat the OS.
I positively think that it will solve the problem.
Since the phone is no longer under warranty, I guess there is no harm to install custom rom on it. They are fast and stable too.
Hope this help. Good luck.

EXACT thing happened to me too. Backup your data and hard reset from recovery. This fixed it for me
Same problem here bro, but neither custom roms or factory reset helps.... Is there anyone who has successfully solved the problem ?

Then it's time to change the screen or phone. Looks like it is a hardware issue.

I agree, your screen needs to be replaced.
For some reason after flashing to the new LineageOS 14.1 I cannot hang up after receiving calls or calling somebody. When I press the red hang up button the screen just gets stuck on "hanging up". If I kill the app and go back into dialer I am still in the call. The only way to hang up is the restart the phone which gets very annoying. Has anyone come across this issue before? I'm really liking Nougat and really don't want to go back to stock 4.4.4 KitKat.
My wife has had the same thing on her Nexus 4 running the latest LineageOS build (flashed a couple of days ago).
(edit: Resolved by going into Settings -> Apps -> Gear -> Phone - set default dialer app)

L03 has a dialer issue with any non official ROMs. The hardware is slightly different so the driver doesn't work correctly. I never found a fix for this.
Did anyone find a solution to this? I have flashed the Lineage OS and I am facing the same problem. Everything is working fine but I just can't hang up the call. It stays stuck on "Hanging up" and never lets me do anything until I restart the phone. Solution will be well appreciated

I done the oreo 8.o.o on my sm-g935f a few days ago and since it rebooted i can only use it if i keep the screen open, if the screen closes or i get a call or an sms it starts flashing like mad, i can't even get to clear cache or factory reset cos halfway through it reboots itself, if i keep the screen open i can use the net, make calls, play games, everything as normal but once the screen closes thats it the quick flashing starts and i have to turn it off, by rapidly hitting the red off icon as it shows then start the phone again and maybe get 10 minutes before someone calls or i have to put the phone down and it closes, i've no idea what to do its out of guarantee so i can't take it into Three either, thanks for any help.

Thanks for your reply, it looks like a refresh then, I've got nothing to lose, cheers.
Reboot first ?
I've just been reading in the Samsung forum about oreo updates and it's explaining about installing the ota straight away or how you can leave it till later etc, but in both explanations it said that when you select to install it your phone will reboot before starting the upgrade, is that right that it reboots first ? Because i know for a fact my s7 edge didn't reboot, i chose for doing it later because my battery was really low it was either 14 or 16% so i charged ìt up to about 90% then i used sd maid pro to clean out the crap then went and clicked install, and some message come up on the screen i can't remember what it said to be honest but then it went to installing, it DEFO didn't reboot first though, could that be what's caused the problems ? Thanks for any replies.
