As the title says, will it receive OTA's through the system update function and not manually flashing it? E.g. 2.0.0 > 2.0.1 > 2.0.2.
Mine did.

Thanks, just got worried. Did you install OxygenOS Using the tuto from gizchina? And how's Battery life? SOT and standby I mean
I got mine from gearbest if this helps and mine would not even when I installed the full rom. In the end I installed 2.0.2 full rom and then I got a mini OTA but then I had loads of bloatware so decided to follow a video on YouTube with all the files in his description to root my OP2 and that made it run without any Chinese bloat
Sent from my ONE A2001 using Tapatalk
mine juz fine, after install 2.0, a few minutes later i received update 2.0.2 and simply update it via OTA.
I am from Southeast Asia and ideally is A2003 version for 1+2, but to get invite is so hard and I am not sure what was my queue number.
If I am getting A2001 (China Version) and flash with Oxygen OS.
What is the other differences/impact since the OTA able to update and lost few LTE bands?
Thank you.

Hey, today afternoon was so boring therefore I'm wondering around threads and then i found your update here.
You can try it out if your problem isn't solved yet. I think it'll help because it's the official nova 7.0 nougat version for Europe. Do reply so that others can benefit from your experience.

Your linking a old version of the Nougat update for the Nova variant CAN-L01C432 and the CAN-L11C432 which if your not careful could damage your phone if you don't have that version of the Nova. There is the CAN-L01C432/CAN-L11C432 variants, the MLA-L03C654 variant, the CAN-L01C02 variant and a couple of others I believe.

my bad i didn't know that there are these many variants.. Thank you for notifying
Hi everyone, my first post here.
Looks like im in the same situation.
I have Nova Plus from Bell/Virgin Canada. MLA-L03. Purchased it on Caraigslist and after 2 month they blacklisted my Imei. I decided to root the phone and maybe change imei as the phone was useless anyways. So i installed TWRP and rooted it successfuly .
The problem was that i could never get diagnostic port open for Qualcomm QPST program. So i upgraded to Nougar 7.0 ( NRD90M) it got UNrooted and i wanted tio install a newer version of TWRP, i guess i got a wrong version. Now its properly screwed up. I have FRP Lock in fasboot, it makes fastboot useless as i cant adb flash boot, or flash recovery. I can boot back to OS but OEM Unlocking is off and grayed out and FRP Lock blocks all communication, so ADB or Fastboot commands dont get through. i get "waiting for device" crap in command line. SD card upgrade doesn't work either. I dont know why and eRecovery wants to download update but fails all the time. I dont know how to get rid of FPR lock. If i find anything i will post here.
hey guys, im using the zenfone 3 ze552kl. and i rooted my z3 right after i updated my firmware to the first official nougat firmware for zenfone 3 which is Version WW-14.2015.1701.8.
and recently, i checked on this website https://www.asus.com/in/support/Download/39/1/0/28/CHukp94xOkwRMIP4/32/ the latest firmware for zenfone 3 is Version WW-14.2020.1708.56 which came out 20 days ago.
so my question is, should i update my zenfone 3 to the latest WW-14.2020.1708.56? or should i stay with WW-14.2015.1701.8 because WW-14.2020.1708.56 has a lot of bugs?
thank you in advance.
It's all good and fine except 3rd party theme no longer supported to which i wasn't able to retain my close to stock android quick setting. If it doesn't matter to you then go ahead.
I find the newer versions to be much more stable. Give it a try, re-rooting is easy.

Are you sure? Then why so many bad reviews at here https://www.asus.com/zentalk/in/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=152944&extra=page=1&page=2&mobile=2
The reason why I asked should I update to the latest firmware or not cause I'm rooted, I can't even checked if there's any system update in settings, so in order for me to update is to manually flash the firmware instead of installing it ota.
Anyway, my current version I'm using is nougat 14.2015.1701.8. it is the first ever official nougat firmware given to the ze552kl. And so far I'm using it, I have no issues at all, no bugs. But I'd like to stay up to date knowing there's a latest and recent firmware out there. But is it worth it? Since my current version is already stable for me.
Are u sure the latest firmware has no bugs? Or should I just stay on my current firmware version?

I've been testing each new version before it comes out through ASUS' beta program. I've found newer firmwares to fix more and more bugs, with no downsides.
Updating is super easy if you sideload the update via adb and simply install Magisk when you're done for root. I did it just the other day and it took me less than 15 minutes.
Edit: It's still 7.0, by the way.
The update is certainly pleasing and anyone agree that the camera takes better pictures in lack of light situation in auto mode ?

There was a short period where they were accepting applications. Only a few people got in, myself included. They might open it up again when there's a beta version of Android Oreo for your model.
By the way, the ZE520KL has 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage. The ZE552KL model has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

Next time read before doing With 7.1 there is no longer bootloader mode. Downgrade to 6. Also you dont need to unlock it, there is no better ROMs for this rom. Official one is best. I tried them, so you can save time and use official one.
ALso root not working well with it. I had root but somehow i couldn't delete system apps.

Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread, if so, I can start another.
I recently purchased this phone (B2017G) from Gearbest as well.
It is still on 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
I have been searching for the right update file, starting with the US version, since that is where I live, but no go. The bootloader says
"E footer is wrong
"E:signature verification failed
"E: open file /cache/fota/error_code error erno = 2
'Installation aborted'
Am I right in thinking I need to find the update with the right signature? I have tried US, Austrian and Russian official ZTE updates with no success so far.. Am I on the right track?
US ZTE Support was as helpful as they could be, but were not familiar with the GearBest global variant. They sent me to the global support site, which won't let me use it, since I'm from the US, lol
Any suggestions? I'm going to try the German update from earlier in this thread after I get home tonight, by the way...
I also purchased mine from Gearbest (B2017G). I believe the phone is for the European market as it comes with a EU plug in the sealed box, but not sure for which country. I tried the firmware for the Spanish model http://www.ztedevice.com/support/detail?id=D4454D33442F45E192A95718509F4586. The update failed.
I just flashed the Nougat 7.1.1 an hour ago from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73257562&postcount=13.
It already looks promising - the phone is very cool after update. Previously the phone is always warm, even in standby. I hope the battery life is a big improvement.
If you intend to flash this zip file, make sure your phone is a European model B2017G. As posted before I got this phone from Gearbest as many others.
Hi,
Updated to 7.1.1 by OTA 3 weeks ago when i bought the phone from Amazon.
It seems that we'll get Oréo later...amazing ! thks ZTE !
It is not official that Axon 7 Mini (B2017G) will get Android 8 aka Oreo. ZTE should do the update to Oreo as this is one popular phone still.

Once you downgraded and rooted can you upgrade back and keep the root?
Root is needed for this phone because it doesn't allow to move ANY app to SD.I sort of recovered the backup of my apps and data with Helium without root, but I need more internal space: with root you can even enable adoptable storage.
If only we can get access bootloader and flash modified boot.bin with magisk...
At the moment I can only use it as backup phone, my everyday phone LG G5 has 7gigs of whatsapp stuff that can only be internal, but most part of the 130+ apps I got are shared in the SD card.
I don't even need TWRP actually, just root to move apps to SD (or a firmware that allows it, since it's a firmware option...ZTE decision)
Flashing nougat 7.1.1 is the best thing I've done - it basically fixed the battery drain. I had to charge 3 times a day before the update. Last night the battery was only down 3%. This morning I recharged it to 93% before I left for work. At 5pm after a days normal use, it still had 55% left. It's just amazing. I think the update flashed out all the nastiest including the suspicious apps that come with the phone. I have no idea what they are - 99003, 99033, 99035 and more. I suspect they are malware although I cant be sure. They consume battery and keep the phone awake. The phone was warm even in standby.

Stock one
Got the 7.1.1 update...
... in a round-about way. Went here http://www.ztedevice.com/support/detail?id=6CCC18CC9451416C8A01BED5174B5762#software and it downgraded my phone to a December 2016 security update.
Flashed the Russian 6.0.1, (had to use the bootloader method for both), then was able to run the Spanish update from ZTE, directly from the System updates menu after extracting the 'update.zip' file from the package and placing it in the root of the SD.
Now running 7.1.1 and happy. I can still access AT&T's US network perfectly, so I didn't destroy the usefulness of my new phone as a phone.
I may eventually put a second T-Mobile sim in it if I think I can live without the SD card's storage...
Edit: I am running a GearBest-purchased phone with 'global' firmware, meaning no official updates available. It is possible that I could have tried to use the Spanish 7.1.1 directly, but I didn't try that before taking the route I did. Just happy *something* worked!
Still no root? Even a firmware where I can patch boot.img with magisk and repack and flash?
I did it with Ulefone S8Pro, but because someone here posted the firmware and it was editable and flashable without getting errors! No TWRP, but who cares, I have adoptable storage and Is essential with those "low" internal memory phones....
A ZTE moderator on the official US site has disconfirmed my report of Oreo on Axon 7 Mini:

Please disregard my earlier reporting. Although my report was accurate as far as what I had heard, the rep I chatted with was likely mistaken.
Right now I am on AT&T firmware CTA2 which is the v2 bootloader. I know if I take the OTA (I have it frozen so it doesn't auto update) to the March security patch it will update my bootloader to v3 and block my ability to revert back to Android 9. I am asking is anyone else in the same boat here and if so what did you? Keep v2 or jump to v3?
Anyone? Guess I am alone here on this one.
I upgraded to 10 before rooting mine, luckily the Binary code was still v3 aka build number G975FXXS"3"ASJG, so reverted to pie and rooted it.
Reason,as samsung are making it harder to root and i wasn't risking upgrading it.
Also no reason too, as custom roms will be made which will be 10, so best of both worlds

So what I am getting here is that you were on v3 bootloader and went back to Pie?
Yes, Look at the binary code, you will see number 3 in my build number.
there is a few more updates in pie, and also i think the first two in 10 that have binary code 3 in build number.
As i did update to 10 BUT only to the last update which contained the number 3 as i show in build number.
Thererfore i was able to revert back.
If i went further to binary code 4, then i'd be screwed
the last v3 you can use which is on android 10 and you can revert back if you wish is:-
2020-01-06 10 G975FXXS3BSL4 G975FOXM3BSKO
the next android 10 update v4 is:- 2020-02-12 10 G975FXXU4BTA8 G975FOXM4BTB1 (Do not update this, if you want to revert back to pie)
these are updates for my BTU G975f

Hey sorry for the real late reply, I just now dug up this thread. I noticed you have G975F phone. Is it rooted? I have a G975U phone. Does this matter? If I update to bootloader v3 (which is the bootloader my carrier is on), I can go back to Pie as long as I don't update to bootloader v4?
Reports in the forum here are saying once you've updated to a newer bootloader version you can't go back for the G975U version of the phone.

I did have the G975f which i did root successfully, sold it on and replaced it with the A71. which is much cheaper, a cracking phone, and has snapdragon chip which are much faster than exynos.
Midrange phones are now coming up to the main flagship phones, and cameras are excellent on it, and its also rooted.
Anyhow.........
Anyway if your s10 has the Exynos chip, you can root, if it has Snapdragon, as far as i know its not possible, you'd need to search.
As i mentioned in post, if the binary code aka 3 remains and it does in the early 10 release, then you can of course go back to pie, as i did.
If you upgrade to binary code 4 aka BL 4, you can not downgrade back to v3.
I'm not sure if it is still rootable at v4, you'd have to check, as like i say, i don't have mine anymore and never got to that stage to investigate.
Hope that helps you bud

So v3 can go back to v2 bootloader? I have a snapdragon G975U phone running AT&T firmware so I can't root it. I just don't wanna brick my phone if I unfreeze the update and update to v3 then wanna go back to v2 bootloader later.
