d. Repeat for all images you copied in step 6. a
7. Wipe data and reboot to system
8. Once system boots up, reboot to TWRP
9. Copy your backed up product, version and cust images to memory card and flash using TWRP (see steps 6.a and 6.b)

Dumb question: I can't install the latest BND-AL10 on my BND-L21 phone right? There are some hardware restrictions, or something like that?
Because I swiped my OS accidently three weeks ago, and I don't have other phone so... If I can have basic functions of the Honor 7X waiting for the official BND-L21 STOCK ROM, it's ok for me.
Thanks a lot, sorry for this stupid question...

It'll work just fine if you just wiped system
Make backup of other Partitions and follow the guide same way

Why does the Firmware Finder not show the BND-L24C567B130 update?
I installed this OTA update on my new L24, but didn't think to capture the update.zip at the time.

You meant this sleek? How to get Indian AL10 worth Google play? The

Clarification ---
I had an Honor 7x BND-L24 but because I could not find stock firmware I returned it as I was afraid to root it without being able to restore to factory reset version.
So if I understand from your post, I can use another firmware set and it will work just fine by following your steps?
1. What firmware do you suggest we use?
2. In one of your posts you mentioned - "Make backup of other Partitions and follow the guide same way" - How is this accomplished?
If I can find a way to root this phone and then factory reset it, I would buy it again.

[RESTORING] DUK_FullOTA_ROM_flasher

For a few days I was not able to unbrick my phone.
I tested many unbrick methods but without success (thanks: @OldDroid, @imprk, @pepuandroll),
but this helped me to understand how to create a working method.
For convenience, I put all files into one package.
Prerequisites:
Unlocked bootloader
TWRP installed:
Nougat:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-1-duk.img
Oreo:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp-3.1.1-oreo-duk.img
FullOTA Nougat / Oreo files
Installation:
1. Download FullOTA ROM (Nougat or Oreo)
2. Put all flasher files together with ROM files (update*.zip files)
3. Copy all files to: internal / external SD card or USB flash drive
4. Boot into TWRP
5. Install DUK_FullOTA_ROM_flasher.zip
6. [Optional] Do a factory reset, re-unlock the bootloader, install TWRP
Download
DUK_FullOTA_ROM_flasher
I've tested it with several ROMs: Nougat-Nougat, Nougat-Oreo, Oreo-Nougat, Oreo-Oreo.

[Guide] Rebrand to Chinese FW and take the Oreo update

With the Oreo update out, several Honor 8 users have become impatient and want to install the update in advance of their regional releases. This guide will help you accomplish this. I won't be held responsible for any damage to your device including but not limited to bricks, explosions, etc.
Before you upgrade, ensure that
Your bootloader is unlocked. Rebranding involves flashing modified recovery images which isn't possible with a locked bootloader.
You're on a dual SIM device. Chinese FW don't support single SIM devices and you'll lose your IMEI, hence no cellular connection. It is possible however to upgrade to Oreo with SIM working but there are some trade-off(s), read the last section.
Oreo FW doesn't include GApps. However, they can be downloaded from the Huawei AppMarket (comes pre-installed).
The FW is still in beta. Bugs are to be expected. Just know this isn't the place for that.
Step I - Rebrand to Chinese FW
Let us get started. Our first job is to rebrand to Chinese FW. Piece of cake. Just follow the steps below, precisely:
Backup any important data, especially those precious cat photos.
Download this file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1eQHOfsCidKhE6AxXZKHkwwjfqYEEjCR6. Extract the archive and place the .img inside in your SD card or Internal Phone storage.
Download the two No-Check recoveries and place them in the root of your Internal Phone storage:
Code:
Recovery 1: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4SPRmBNsTefSWZLSWxpWGd6QkE
Recovery 2: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4SPRmBNsTefSVhxMWFoa01wams
Download Chinese B396 Nougat FW and copy them to /data/update/HWOTA/ folder (create folders if they don't exist):
Code:
Main Update File: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G3109/g1699/v143478/f1/full/update.zip
Customization File: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G3109/g1699/v143481/f1/full/FRD-DL00_dualcu_cn/update_full_FRD-DL00_dualcu_cn.zip
Reboot your device to TWRP. Navigate to Install > Install Image > Select the .img file > Check OEMINFO as the partition to flash the .img to. Start the install process and wait for it to finish. Don't reboot the device after installation.
We'll now install the modified recoveries. Using either TWRP's terminal or ADB Shell (as root 'su'), execute the following:
Code:
dd if=/sdcard/FRD_RECOVERY_NoCheck.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery_a
dd if=/sdcard/FRD_RECOVERY2_NoCheck.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery2_a
Let's prepare the installation of the FW. In the same TWRP terminal or ADB Shell, execute the following:
Code:
echo "--update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update.zip" > /cache/recovery/command
echo "--update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update_full_FRD-DL00_dualcu_cn.zip" >> /cache/recovery/command
Reboot your device to recovery from TWRP. This time, the device will reboot to NoCheck recovery and start the installation process.
Step II - Flash the Oreo update
The steps to flash to Oreo are same as rebranding. You'll follow the exact same steps as above, keeping the following things in mind:
Your bootloader might relock after the update. Unlock it and flash TWRP again.
There is no need to reflash the OEMINFO file as we've already done that, so skip it.
Instead of installing B396 FW, we'll flash the Oreo firmware. At the time of writing of this guide the latest available firmware was B511:
Code:
Main Update File: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G3109/g1699/v142251/f1/full/update.zip
Customization File (Public): http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G3109/g1699/v142251/f1/full/public/update_data_full_public.zip
Customization File (OEM): http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G3109/g1699/v142251/f1/full/FRD-DL00_dualcu_cn/update_full_FRD-DL00_dualcu_cn.zip
You'll copy the above files to /data/update/HWOTA. Also, modify the commands executed in Step 7 to:
Code:
echo "--update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update.zip" > /cache/recovery/command
echo "--update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update_data_full_public.zip" >> /cache/recovery/command
echo "--update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update_full_FRD-DL00_dualcu_cn.zip" >> /cache/recovery/command
Reboot your device and tada, you're on Oreo, yum, yum!
The alternate way for Single SIM users
It is the same as the above mentioned steps. Follow only Step 2, don't flash the OEMINFO file. However there are some trade-offs like:
The customization file won't flash due to region mismatch so you'll be left with a borked installation i.e. only some system apps, no keyboard, no app store, broken build number, non-working themes, etc. etc.
Remember, we did it all for that pesky SIM so don't complain.
If you face any errors, don't hesitate to slap me in the comments below. I'm waiting...

Thanks for the clarification. I'll make it clear in the guide.
EDIT: The guide is updated with DL00 firmware links.
I made it easier to upgrade to Oreo on FRD-L19. Being on 7 Android, changed the location of the phone on FRD-dl00, updated to FRD-dl00c00b396 and via Hwota8 installed FRD-dl00c00b511 (8.0.0.511). Through Magisk v 16.4 got Ruth right.

Can you verify the firmware installed correctly, like is the build number correct. Regardless, you cam grab the market from http://a.vmall.com/uowap/index.html
in fact, to install Oreo I had to install it via redlotus, even the Chinese firmware installed with redlotus .. because following your guide, got to the point of restarting from recovery after having put all the codes the phone did not start the installation ..
Can someone post some video about the update and features?
To install Oreo from the Chinese Firmware, I recommend using HuRUpdater, since it is much simpler and faster.
Here's how to do it:
Just create a folder in the sdcard with these 4 files:
HuRUpdater_0.3.zip (https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279)
update.zip
update_data_full_public.zip (rename it to: update_all_hw.zip)
update_full_FRD-DL00_dualcu_cn.zip (rename it to: update_data_public.zip)
IN TWRP:
You only need to flash the HuRUpdater file, the other 3 files will be installed automatically.
Restart Your Device.
You're on oreo.
Before installing Oreo remember that there are no Custom Recovery for this Firmware so you will not be able to flash anything.
(Tested on Honor 8 FRD-L09 with Chinese firmware.)

You're installing firmware for DL00 but the oeminfofile you provided with the first link is for AL10. Won't that cause any problem?

[TUTORIAL-easiest] Rebranding to L19 C10 (Russian, EU) for Oreo update + video

Hi, I will show you the most easiest way to get oreo update (emui 8).
you must have installed twrp and unlocked bootloader.
1. Download this https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/tool-srk-tool-huawei-bootloader-root-t3470823
2. Press 7 then 9, next 7 and 5.
3. Now download 2 files: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1276/g104/v64076/f1/full/update.zip thanks to @jithendrav83
https://www.hihonor.com/uk/support/details/index.html?DOC_ID=92135 <- first
4. flash it by dload method
thats all. Now update your phone by huawei built-in updater or firmware finder.
But for me the best option is unlocking bootloader again, root then flashing by this tutorial: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/guide-flashing-unapproved-firmwares-t3668306

As per my guide, you only lose it if you're rebranding to AL/DL (chinese). Rebranding from L02, L04 to L09 is perfectly safe (I'm running L09C10 on my L04)
So best way to get Oreo on L04 is to rebrand with this method and redlotus to the Russian EU firmware and everything will work?
Hi,
I rebranded FRD-L02 to FRD-L19C10 and tried above steps. Installed Oreo by redlotus method. But got "data corrupted" menu and I formatted data. Now phone won't boot. Then I tried unlocking bootloader and phone booted. But sw version still shows B95 and its on Oreo. Looks like cust/region part is not flashed. Tried installing Twrp 3.2.1.0 and the one in Multi-tool, but phone won't boot to recovery. Its going into error mode. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

If you look at the XML File you used for the RedLotus method, you can see that there are two versions in it (L09C10 and L19C10). I suppose that's the reason why it's bugging for you.
Don't know for sure though. Trying that method now too, will report back if that's really the problem.

To rebrand, you need an unlock bootloader.
1. Download the C10 oeminfo file https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VtOeGQ9GnKvcSVgraPP6-go6HCRbpyBB/view?usp=drivesdk. It is a zip file, extract it to find an img file. Reboot to TWRP and select Install Image and install the file to oeminfo partition.
2. Perform a complete factory reset in TWRP.
3. Download the latest Nougat (3 files package) for FRD-L09C10 through Firmware Finder. Flash it using HuRupdater https://forum.xda-developers.com/ho...l-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279/.
4. After the flash is complete, reboot the device, unlock the bootloader again and flash TWRP.
5. Download the latest Oreo build for FRD-L09C10 through Firmware Finder. Using HuRupdater flash the three Oreo firmware files. Don't perform a factory reset this time.
6. Reboot your device. You're now on Oreo.

Doesn't work for me. Always results in a bootloop with "Your device is unlocked..." etc.
Same with RedLotus too. I don't know if it's the firmware you linked or the recoveries, but ehh... nah, probably gonna go back to where I was before.

Would be grateful for a working one too.

[SOLVED] NRD90M test-keys - Nougat Stock Firmware Huawei Mate 8

Hi all,
I just want to share with you all how i solved NRD90M test-keys on my Mate 8. 2 weeks ago, I've successful to debrand from L29 to AL10 and updated to Oreo EMUI 8. After awhile, i found bugs or error when i connected to PC or Laptop, my phone will go haywire like someone is touching the screen everywhere. I suspected it might be came from cust.img that i flashed to make sim and data detect.
Then i made a decision to debrand again to DL00, and successfully rollback to MM B386 using Hisuite version 8. After that i flashed dualcu_cn.zip using TWRP and successful to debrand to DL00. I checked the OTA update, there is DL00C00B577 Nougat update and i download and installed it. My Mate 8 became NRD90M test-keys after successfully updated to Nougat. For one and a half day i searched in internet and XDA on how to get rid of NRD90M test-keys and update to next build of Nougat. On XDA, I've found several thread regarding NRD90M test-keys like https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/info-rom-nrd90m-test-keys-android-7-0-t3750147, https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/help/nrd90m-test-keys-t3549124 and https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/help/stuck-nrd90m-test-keys-t3590461 but without proper steps and procedures. So people like me a noob or newbies will stuck on how to solve the problem. So I've do some test for my Mate 8 by using one of this methods which are HuRUpdater, HWOTA and erecovery. I can said that 90% of chances rate it will success but you'll need to download FullOTA-MF stock firmware. I'm using erecovery so no need to download it.
Requirement:
1. Unlocked bootloader
2. TWRP Installed
3. HuRUpdater - Link : https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
4. HWOTA - Link: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/DEWc/a9fDVbgpz
5. update.zip - FullOTA-MF (for me NXT-DL00C17B592-full in erecovery)
6. update_all_hw.zip
7. update_data_public.zip
8. Back up your data using HiSuite or SD card.
Instruction
Method 1 using HuRUpdater
1. Make sure your bootloader is unlocked and TWRP is installed.
2. Download HuRUpdater.zip, update.zip-FullOTA-MF (your stock firmware), update_all_hw.zip and update_data_public.zip.
3. Make a new folder in SD Card root (you can name it base on its firmware) and put all the zips that you already downloaded in the folder.
4. Boot your Mate 8 to TWRP and choose sd card > folder > HuRUpdater.zip. It'll reboot into recovery and start flash firmware.
5. Your phone will update to the newest build number base on your stock firmware.
6. You can follow the steps in this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
Method 2 using HWOTA
1. Make sure your bootloader is unlocked and TWRP is installed.
2. Download HWOTA.zip, update.zip-FullOTA-MF (your stock firmware), update_all_hw.zip and update_data_public.zip.
3. Extract HWOTA.zip into HWOTA folder in your PC and put all the zips that you already downloaded in that folder. Copy HWOTA folder in your SD Card.
4. Boot your Mate 8 to TWRP and choose HWOTA folder and select nxt_hwota_update.zip. It'll reboot into recovery and start flash firmware.
5. Your phone will update to the newest build number base on your stock firmware.
6. You can follow the steps in this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/mat...ate-8-t3785320. This HWOTA.zip also can use to flash OREO EMUI 8 firmware.
P/S: I think HuRUpdater and HWOTA is the same method but using different script binary.
Method 3 using eRecovery
1. Press Vol + and Power button at the same time for 3-5 sec.
2. Choose your WIFI (need strong connection), if not it will failed to download recovery firmware.
3. If your WIFI have a strong connection it'll start to download recovery firmware and install.
4. Wait until finish installation
5. Your phone will update to the newest build number base on your stock firmware.
P/S: If you're using C636,C432,C185, i think it's useless. because i'm from C636 it's never captured the recovery firmware. so in case if your phone bricked or test keys, you can use HuRUpdater method. This method only working on chinese variants is what i think.
Additional info:

So originally you came from NXT-AL10 and without changing oeminfo with SRK Tool then you used the HuRUpdater?
Is it your bootloader still unlocked or locked?
I did not change oeminfo, or rather I tried with SRK tool, but I did not succeed.

TWRP Huawei mate 8
Hello, my people, how are you?
I have a doubt, the truth is I am very new in this.
I have a Huawei Mate 8 NXT-L29 which updates to Android 7 with an app called "Firmware Finder for Huawei" and then I started my problems, the clock does not work, I can not enter the updater among others. What I would like is to change that rom for another or if it were for a stock.
I have the bootloader open and a TWRP (twrp-3.2.3-0-next) which is the only one that has worked for me but I have not been able to install another rom it tells me this: "error when dismounting" / '/ cust /' (invalid argument) and I do not know what I'm doing wrong ...
the compilation that this app left me is: NRD90M test-keys
and the rom that I want to install is: NXTL26C605B580
I would like to know your recommendations and corrections to what I am doing and thank you and I apologize for my English, which is very bad!
