FORMAT FAIL !! during a hard reset.

hey guys thanks for being helpful alot of times..
My O2 XDA MINI S gets stuck at the startup operator logo ..
I FLASHED IT WITH THE NEW 2.21.4.1 ROM AND OS ,, but its still the same
NOW IM TRYING TO FORMAT IT WITH A HARD RESET BY PRESSING THE SEND BUTTON ,,BUT IT SAYS "FORMAT FAIL"..... Please help me as i really miss the phone..

I am afraid that usually means you have a faulty rom memory chip. Send the device back to the supplier for repair - its a hardware problem not a software problem.

BUT IF ITS A hardware fault how was i able to flash it to the newer version ? 2.21 ?
Is there any thing else i can do to the phone ? to make it ? LIKE THE IMEI OR SOME KIND OF LOCK ?

The rom will flash but stll fails to boot - there have been other posts with exact same problem and that was the reply by summiter or faria if I remember right. (Both v experienced at flashing and putting together roms) Do a srearch - failed format will prob find those posts.

ive heard if I can upgrade the phone through the SD CARD then it can get back to normal ..
Please some one can be kind enough to guide me through it or mail me the dump of the os for the sd card.. O2 XDA MINI S

Solution
you can go to ftp://[email protected]/Prophet/Shipped_Complete_Updates/
if it asks you for any user name and PW use
Username: xda
Password: xda
Pls remenber to login first and than download.
Download the PROPHET>>>DOPOD>>>>NO VENDOR ID WWE As ENG.
Then go to the go to the boot up screen on phone (HOLDING RESET+ CAMERA AND COMM MANAGER BUTTON)you will come to a screen displaying only 3colours.
Now connect to your PC run the software (WWE version)remenber you choose no vendor ID or u will be stuck...
after connecting do as screen shows next>>>next .... it will install the WWE ie.,World Wide English.
pls dont download crossbow ie WM6 as there are still some issues with the ROM

Official Portuguese ROM PLEASE!!

I had brink my Herald when i tried to upgrade to WM6 and now i only can access his on bootloader mode...
Can anybody send me one Portuguese Official Rom please?

Welcome the board , Lets wait until end of July...!
I Think Moderator here shoud warn people want to up WM6 called by ASEG...many many people here have briked phone with ASEG's ROM!

If there is no Portugese ROm available, then you should make use of your warranty and send it back to your provider for service. That's how some could recover their device and don't better don't mention you tried to flash an unofficial ROM onto your device

I have a portuguese rom, just let me know how to extract it and i will sent it to you

i`m looking for some help and hope that i can find that at this forum
well,i got my htc hero android few months ago , the device is amazing and i like it alot BUT i`m facing some issues and i`m trying to fix but i don`t have any knowledge in the android field.
what i`m trying to do is :
1- i want to update the firmware version to 2.2 or 2.1
2- can i fix the bluetooth thing so i can send/receive images and videos via bluetooth?
3- i receive arabic messenges . so can i make my phone support arabic (read/write)?
if those issues were fixed then i`ll be having an amazing phone !! otherwise i`ll have to buy another phone and waste my money
so plz plz plz guys help

1 - Do you want an original ROM or a custom one?
2 - Never used it, so I don't know if it works or not.
3 - Yes, but depends on the ROM.

You can install VillainROM12. It is 2.1 ROM, BT is fully working (BT is working with any 2.1 ROM) and it supports almost any language - read / write ;-)
