Hello guys.I have a question about my Samsung Galaxy S4.
My WiFi is not turning on. I performed a factory reset but it does not work neither.
Your next step is to use Odin to install a stock ROM. It's sounding as if something got corrupted, and installing a stock ROM (not just the modem part) could resolve it.

Hello folks,
I'm a developer who is writing system-near software for rooted Android-devices.
My program works on nearly every device, but the AT&T SGH-I377 S4 is different from all other devices and there my software is not working.
I've got a european S4 I9505 and just tried to flash the whole "I337UCUAMDB_I337ATTAMDB_ATT.zip" via Odin on my device (after nandroid & full wipe).
But sadly Odin told me "FAIL (auth)" and nothing more happened, so it seems I can not "just flash" the I337-rom on my I9505.
Has anyone any tip how I can do this? I don't need the phone for talking and so on - WIFI & ROOT is fully enough to debug my application.
After I got my application then working, I would just reflash my old ROM.
Glad for any advices & with kind regards,
Martin

Try flashing just the latest modem. And then keep the phone off for a few minutes. (Uncheck autoreboot from odin while flashing modem)
In addition are the baseband version and imei number okay?

As the gentlemen said above, it will just be the modem. It seems like your friend has flashed a new rom, possibly 4.3 or 4.4.# and hasn't got the correct modem. Tell him to search on Sam Mobile for the correct modem for his device numbers and flash it via odin, again as stated above.
After all that, it should be fine!
the thing is, he doesnt know how to flash roms and this stuff, and he had the 4.2.2 stock, i flashed the 4.4.2 stock....but doesnt the rom contain a modem??

It does contain. But separately flashing modems and keeping the phone off just after the flash does magic at times.
Uncheck autoreboot while flashing via odin.
If you're flashing the recovery flashable modem, flash and then tun the phone off and pull the battery out.

ill check when i see him...thanks guys
Galaxy S4 - i337m - Android 4.3
Okay, so here's my problem.
Today in the morning after I woke up, I checked my phone and it said it had downloaded a software update. It was just a complimentary update for 4.3, it said bug fixing, etc. in details. I clicked accept and the installation started.
After this, all crap started to happen.
The Wi-Fi NEVER worked again, everytime I clicked the Wi-Fi widget in the notification bar, it turned green and immediately switched back to gray. It also didn't work when trying to turn Wi-FI on from the settings menu.
I tried everything, the battery pulling, the thing of disabling the Wi-Fi energy save, and nothing worked. It all pointed to a factory reset.
So I did all my backups (My S4 was rooted), and finally made the factory reset.
After this finished, I did all the starting configuration of the S4 (like when it was brand-new). Then, I tried to turn on Wi-Fi.
Surprise, surprise. DIDN'T WORK.
I'm so desperate right now, I don't know what to do.
I'm currently downloading 4.4.2 to flash it via Odin, and see if this works.
Any help, please?
Flashing the 4.4.2 ROM you're downloading now should definitely fix the problem. I know that in some instances, us I9505 owners have to flash a stock ROM twice through Odin before the modem will function. It sounds like your software update broke the modem in this fashion, which is why the ROM install you're planning should fix it. Be aware however that installing KitKat will give you Knox if you don't already have it.

Fine. Right at this moment I'm installing 4.4.2
Hope this works.
I'll tell you what happens.
I have the international version of Note 3, bought in Argentina (with Exynos). Yesterday, I installed the lastest Lollipop stock ROM from Russia.
I didn't do a full wipe. Everything works well (except Swype, which I disabled for now), but if I turn on Wifi, it doesn't detect any network, and in a few seconds, the SAMSUNG (booting) screen appears, and keeps loop booting like that until I turn off Wifi.
What may be the problem? Should I do a full wipe? Should I try to access the log and see what fails?
Thanks in advance.
Factory reset flash a new firmware .
In that order?
Is there any way to know what is failing without factory reseting?
Hi, i have a G530H, (HXXU)
Had this issue come up regarding wifi being getting to Saved, Secured (even with wrong passwored) but not working i.e going further and showing connected.
I flashed the official Lollipop from sammobile.
During the first flash upgrade from KK to Lollipop, flashing (odin) failed at Hidden.img and phone got stuck at that samsung error saying i need recover via kies, so i extracted the big md5 file and flashed hidden.img seperatly an dit worked phone started working.
Now still have wifi problem along with no sound at all from speaker and handsfree too. I tried going back to 4.4.4 successfully but that dint work either.
Any suggestions?
