I noticed on lg-firmwares that 16b was posted today (Dec 28). Anybody update yet? Changes?
I've updated. Looks to be the December security patch. I haven't noticed any other details.

I downloaded the kdz and used Uppercut and LGUP.
Just updated with Uppercut and LGUP...
Anyone else experiencing play services and gmail crashing all of the time? Still occurs in safe mode, so I'm perplexed.
Did a fresh install of 16b, and this issue keeps plaguing me (same thing kept happening on 16a)
I've had no issues with mine.

You have to remove root via SuperSU settings, then install the update using LG Bridge.
Once I get the update on mine (hopefully today) I'll root the image and upload for others to use.
EDIT: Got the update - I'll root the image and upload it. Will post a link here when it's done.

Noticed any clear improvements in V10E??
Might be placebo but I have less stutter...noticeably less. Seems most apparent when typing with Google keyboard.

As far as I can tell now, it is pretty cool. I had to wipe all data anyway, because I had my phone rooted before, but the new permissionmanagement is really nice. The new battery-saving function which shuts down apps automatically is a bit confusing.

I would update with OTA up to 10E first, then root.
I didn't update through OTA, was done through Uppercut. Still have the NRD90M Build number, not sure if that matters. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've searched the forums but maybe im not looking in the right places?

It would still be 90M if you had taken the OTA. LG releases incremental updates within builds for security patches and bug fixes which change the software versions i.e. from 10d to 10i. Currently, there is no way to root 10i. Interestingly enough, 10i is roll-back friendly, so if a TOT or KDZ (think of them as Google Factory Images to flash) existed of 10d (and an official one, the only kind you can flash properly to rollback, doesn't!) you could flash it and be able to root.

90M wouldn't matter in this case. If its security patch Dec. 1 it would most likely still work. Sprint came out with ZV5 and its Dec.1 dirtycow still works. Meaning Recowvery would work. The dirtycow patch is Dec. 5
The question is. Has anyone actually TRIED?

The update was put out specifically to patch the dirty cow exploit. It was released on the 21st, and while I haven't personally tried recowvery on I myself, I'm sure it won't work.

Are you on 10i? If so just give it a shot. worst case scenario nothing happens and you waste 5 minutes. best case you get root. We on sprint thought the same thing. Our ZV5(Dec.1 patch) update wasn't released until like the 15th.

You're right, it still works. I'm not really sure why everyone was reporting that it patches the exploit, but in any case, recowvery still works on 10i. Here's hoping an official TOT or KDZ comes out for rollback purposes when it eventually does get patched!

Yea... It was the same case on our update. We all thought it patched it and no one was doing it. One random person said he tried and it worked.

I did it via the 10i KDZ file and using LGUP and Uppercut. I had no choice i bricked my phone and lost twrp in the process. It was the only way to restore it.
I updated to 10i with LG Bridge and I grabbed the required .dll for LGUP, and I ran dirty cow again (you must use manual method), put SuperSU into the memory card.
I successfully entered TWRP and rooted 10i.
So this morning, I was on PhoneArena and they had an article about the LG V20. Its a softwsre update that includes July security patch.
Have anyone got the 15A update yet?

Folks usually attribute this to the phone being reset and such. I've noticed no difference.
That security patch prevents rooting.
13A root does not work either. Static screen, cant see anything.
Once i restore old boot backup, there is no root.
I received... 15a... 16b... 17a... and... 18 ... the size of 17a is around of 800 mb and... 18a 70mb
Just got an update for the Tmo G6. It is now to 10o. Still 7.0 for those that care..
That's the june security update.
10o is 350+mb and started after the security update

So I just got prompted for an update the June security update but when I click on restart and install it's counting down to reboot but it doesn't Anyone else having this problem?

i'm trying via LG bridge but it is currently downloading a file under "software update" that is 2.62gb. I dont know what that is all about.
edit: lg bridge worked and I am now up to date.

Has anyone been able to snag the 20g KDZ? I am trying to force it, but TMO thinks my phone is up to date with 20f.
EDIT: well, I was able to get the update_s.zip and 20g is still ARB01 which is good.
I am working on hacking together an update.zip that will be flashable in TWRP until someone can find the KDZ.
