[Q] Change device ID/Name for wifi?

Hi all, hoping you can help me out with this. It's not a critical issue, more a vanity/QOL thing.
I'd like to change the device name/ID that shows up when connecting my Nexus 7 to a wifi network. Currently it shows up as "android-<string of alphanumerics>" but I'd like to be able to give it a more descriptive name to help differentiate when setting up a wifi connection around multiple similar devices.
I've got my N7 rooted but not unlocked, and I'd prefer not to flash a custom ROM if possible. I'm no stranger to flashing ROMs, I'm just not interested in putting a huge amount of work or potentially causing myself problems for something that is so relatively minor.. I can live without a custom device name, but it would be nice to be able to set one up.

Is that screenshot from the custom ROM you have listed in your sig?
I'm using a stock N7 with build JDQ39 and I don't seem to have many of those options listed in the Developer Options menu. Or is there something I need to do to enable those, similar to the method used to 'unhide' the Developer Options in the first place?
My apologies if this is basic information that I could have found elsewhere.

Yes it is Slim Bean Build 7. That is just what I use as it is included in the ROM. You can set it manually or use an app such as these.

Wow.. I feel incredibly dumb right now. I'm so used to doing things the hard way I didn't even consider checking if there were apps in the store that might do what I wanted. Thanks for reminding me to look in the easy places first!

[Q] Game hacker not working

Hi guys ,
I have YU Yureka updated lollipop version. I rooted my phone
But the issue I'm facing is kinda different even root checker showing full root access but when i try to open apps like game hacker,flashify it showing MAGIC 7F45 ERROR

so you mean to say that game hacker is not able to get root access right ?
by the way that is not a point.
all the app for hacking will not work on Yureka ARM64 architecture. so you need to downgrade it to kitkat
and dont post weird thing over here it is against XDA rules. this thread will get closed soon.

That is a very good question so please don't say anything I had the same problem and thank you 4 your ans but can u please tell me is there a way to make it work on lollipop

Installed the update (around 300MB) fixed the google play issue i had with "Waiting for Network"

What about battery drain? On b11 update my battery goes like crazy

I didn't see anything special about the battery but i need 2-3 days to confirm that. My google play work also now.

I think they fixed it, because it not draining as before at night

can anyone please share the link for the zip package of a2017 V1.1.0B13 because when i click update it says your software is up to date so i guess i will have to manually flash this update. i am on B12

I reckon you could use your phone to do your work for you without having to lift a finger or leave your bed before a chinese phone gets anything, officially, google..

Phone locked - can't use Dr Fone and no Samsung account

My kids have been clicking away on my phone and password entered too many times. Now it's locked.
I don't have a Samsung account so unable to use Find Phone and the Dr Fone everyone is recommending does not have the S7 on the dropdown menu. Only up to S6 Edge
Any suggestions?

You might have to factory reset your phone but that will erase all your data.

I know absolutely nothing about flashing ROM and Odin so not sure how to proceed. And nobody answered whether it works with Nougat.
Is this really the absolute only option for people who lock their phones?
Also, any idea why so many websites are recommending the Dr Fone toolkit specifically to unlock the S7e when the program does not support the S7e?

Can't unlock the bootloader

I followed all the steps, waited my time and now when I try to unlock it I get this error.

I don't know what to do.

If it helps the Chinese says something like phone use not reach enough time try later or something.
I left the phone turned off since I requested to unlock it and got my 172 hours of wait

You should have used your phone during waiting, it is said explicitly, maybe this is the problem

Ok, so apparently I didn't follow the steps as good as I thought.
My bad.
So now, I just wait and I will be able to unlock it? How long?
I'm using the device, of course.

I also faced this problem and i try to find old Mi flash unlock and found version 2.2.624.14 which i dont need to wait .

So, did you unlock your bootloader with that version?
