Hello !
I currently have a big problem with my newly acquired G6. The bootloader is unlocked, and the latest version of TWRP is installed. Only every time I want to restart my phone on the flash ROM, it always comes back to TWRP, it never boots on the ROM.
I've tested several ROMs and nothing does, so I don't know what to do anymore: /
Any suggestions for me?
Edit: Actually, it started once under LineageOS, and it was when I wanted to install an OTA that it didn't want to boot at all.
You can try LG UP and flash a stock ROM in order to fix things
solution
Hi,
I had the same problem (seems to be a general bug with the OTA updater of LineageOS).
What helped me on my LG G6, with TWRP 3.2.1-0 and LineageOS 14.1 (12.12.2017 and 23.12.2017 image)
- Turn off phone (from TWRP restart menu).
- boot through the "hard side" into recovery:
-- use power and volume down until the lg logo appears then release power for 1 sec and then repress while keeping volume down pressed.
-- Confirm yes twice on the white screens ("factory reset" - dont worry it does not reset if you already have TWRP installed).
- You are again in TWRP, but now you can reboot to your system through the regular reboot menu.

I have tried, just yesterday, and after this procedure I got LG's logo animation bootlooping.
So I restored the last stock rom with uppercut then reinstalled TWRP and Fulmics.
Now it works without any problem.
I had the first bootlooping just after LOS install (no OTA update).
I know the last post was a while ago but this should be easier to find. ty for posting the solution.

I recently rooted my Redmi 3S after unlocking my bootloader ( yes, applying for a request from the mi unlock page and everything) (not pro not prime, just the 3S)
I was on MIUI8, the most latest version ( I know this because I went to software update page and no updates were available. lol )
I proceeded to unlock my bootloader via the MIUnlock program ( nope, no errors, no 50% stuck issues) and flashed twrp and stuff from this link http://xiaomitips.com/guide/how-to-flash-twrp-and-root-redmi-3s/
Then I proceeded to flash LineAgeOS and from there whenever i try to reboot into recovery ( yes, i have the advanced reboot options) it just reboots into the main os completely skipping the recovery. I found this strange the first time and thought it was my mistake. But I tried volume down+power which is just Fastboot all the time. I tried volume up+power too, it just stays on the Mi screen. But whenever i run the twrp-installer.bat i got from the http://xiaomitips.com/guide/how-to-flash-twrp-and-root-redmi-3s/ it boots into TWRP. so, basically there is no twrp for me to access without me having access to a computer. I tried copying the recovery.img onto my phone and tried installing it as an image into the recovery. but same issue persists. I just can't access the twrp recovery without using a computer. Please help
Edit : I disabled dm-verify too
I had the same problem with my Redmi 3s 2/16
For me works
WITH OPEN BOOTLOADER
I flashed TWRP with Fastboot
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
>>>directly after flashing<<<
1.) Push Vol+ and Vol- and Power at the same time
2.) If you see the MI-Logo release ONLY the Powerbutton and wait
3.) With a little bit luck you are now entering TWRP
4.) If not, do not release Vol+ and Vol-, the Devicescreen went totally black
5.) Do not release Vol+ and Vol- and push now the Power Button
6.) If you see the MI-Logo release ONLY the Powerbutton and wait
7.) Then TWRP starts (for me)
8.) A few times i landed into the chinese menue, then push the recovery button, with a little bit luck you arrive TWRP
9.) If nothing helps, and the device starts normally, imho the process changes twrp back into the original recovery -- then flash twrp again and start from Point 1.)
NOTE!! If you enter TWRP the first time go to Advanced Settings and tap on --Disable DM-Verify-- .
After i disabled DM-Verify and flashed the Xiaomi.eu Rom the above worked for me without every time flashing twrp.
I worked 6 hours at this workaround

Holy **** thanks. I booted into twrp with vol- and vol+ + power button directly after flashing
Hello,
I tried installing custom rom on my G2 , here is what I did (more or less)
- rooted the phone - I think with ioroot
- flashed twrp (I think with flashify)
- couldn't boot into recovery, got "Certificate error"
- used autorec
- now twrp recovery worked.
- wiped data / cache / system
- installed Crdroid / lineageos + gapps
- rebooted
And from that point I'm stuck, I get the LG screen for a sec and then a black screen.
To boot up again I flashed the stock rom, but I want custom!!!
what can I do ?
BTW, in some of the guides I saw it said that I need to unlock the bootloader ? but when I try the guide and use the first command to boot into bootloader, all it seems to do is just reboot the system regularly.
did this "adb reboot bootloader" and that is it, "fastboot oem unlock" just said "Waiting for device"
thank you.

connect it to computer. does it shows qhsusb_bulk in device manager? if qhsusb_bulk mode then use unbrick tutorial or use srktool to unbrick...
Nah.
U just didnt flashned boostack.
Go to twrp (power + vol up)
It will ask u abount factory reset. Press Yes 3 times ( dont worry nothing will be erased).
In twrp do again wipe ( system, data, cache, davlik)
Install caf bootstack. In download select ur variant. (https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/boot-g2-hybrid-bootstacks-t3183219)
Than install rom + gapps.
It should work.

i got the same problem months ago.
it worked fine.:good:
I have the same issue, except I can't get into TWRP. I flashed a bumped stock bootstack and am stuck with the LG logo to black screen. Factory reset screen asks to press power to confirm, just goes back to black screen afterwards. TWRP won't load up no matter the combination. I can get to download mode, if that helps any.

did you manage to fix this? I'm alsostuck at this, flashing stock rom show skipping partition to me.
I ended up using the download mode to flash a Kitkat kdz with the LG Flashtool 2014, then rooted, flashed TWRP with autorec, then ran mr. bump, installed TWRP 3.1.0, and restored my nandroid backup.
Hello, ive unlocked my bootloader on my h870 and ive flashed twrp. when ive just flashed it i was able to boot into twrp but now everytime i try to boot into it it wil wipe all my data with the stock lg recovery mode can someoneone please help me? Thanks! Just got the phone a few hours ago
You have to install a custom rom or root to make twrp permanent, if you don't do that it will install always after the first boot the stock recovery.

You need to reflash twrp with the bootloader like the first time.

When you have flashed twrp, you do the buton combination to enter twrp, if you fail to enter twrp a the phone boots into system the stock recovery will be reflashed so you have to reflash twrp.
Try making these:
When you are in the bootloader after flashing twrp press button down+ power button. When the screen turns off quickly stop pressing power button and quickly press again until the lg logo appear.
When the lg logo appear stop pressing power button, quickly press again and stop pressing the power button and press again quickly until you see twrp logo.
These method works for me for booting twrp easily
The stock recovery appears but you have to select the factory reset option and it will boot into TWRP

Hey, i have the same Problem, my TWRP broke, i can't boot into recovery and my Device ist not listed in fastboot mode. Can someone help me out?
I get the ring in windows when i plugin but its not recognizing.. Can someone pls help me out?
Okay, I'm going to try to explain it, and see if I can succeed where others have not.
You install TWRP by booting to bootloader and using fastboot to push a new recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
It seems like you accomplished that successfully. The next step is to immediately boot to recovery; do not boot the phone to system first. You will get the factory prompts for wiping data, but it will not actually wipe your data this time. Instead it will boot to TWRP.
Now, while you are in TWRP, you need to either root (flash Magisk) or install a custom ROM. If you do not, your next boot to system will remove TWRP and restore the stock recovery. If that happens, then the data-wiping prompts the next time you boot to recovery are real and the phone will wipe. So you MUST - must must must - root or install a custom ROM while you have TWRP up, in order for TWRP to persist.
If you have already experienced this problem, you need to start over at the beginning; flash TWRP again, and then follow the rest of these directions.
Maybe this will help clear up the problem for you guys.

Anybody an idea?
Did you guys manage to fix it?

With 3.2.1.0, 3.2.2.0 and 3.2.3.0 it only briefly shows the TWRP screen and then boots into system anyway.
With 3.1.1.0 the key combination to boot into TWRP as with the other versions above simply doesn't work, again it directly boots into system without even showing the TWRP screen.
I'm stuck with a resetted phone because of this bull****, because some instructions said "oh, the reset dialog will not really reset your data..." - yeah thanks for nothing, buddy.
So what now?
EDIT: I got it working using TWRP 3.1.1.0, but the same version from the OFFICIAL site didn't work, as I described above.
The only 3.1.1.0 TWRP that works with my phone is the one from this Link: http://downloads.codefi.re/rashed/g6/
(which is linked ... somewhere here in the Forum, don't remember which thread)
What I want to do: Enter TWRP (already installed and working).
What I've tried:
Vol Down and Power keys sequence (I can see the pseudo "Factory Reset" screen, but it is not working)
"Restart → recovery" lineage system option
"adb reboot recovery" command
Smartphone description: It is a D295f and has
[ROM][7.1][UNOFFICIAL][MSM8610][CUSTOM] LineageOS 14.1 for LG L FINO
[RECOVERY][TWRP][D290/D295] TWRP Recovery 3.1.0.0 for LG L Fino + Bootloader unlock
I am using TWRP and lineageOS in this phone for months. After crazy bugs and random restarts (maybe because of Xposed) I decided to reinstall lineageOS. I did it (and it is not the first time I do this). But I forgot to install AddonSU. So I thought "no problem, that's easy, I just need to go back to TWRP and flash it". I tried it, but for some reason the phone do not go to Recovery. Instead it just boot the OS normally. :crying:

Have you tried booting it to recovery using an app?
If yes try to reflash your recovery using flashify(play store)
Solved
Thank you for the reply.
It was not possible to go to recovery anymore because the phone just decided to not power on anymore. It is dead. Even if plugged in. But I solved the problem. I throwed the phone in the garbage.
So i wanted to finally install custom ROM on my LG G6 H870, needed twrp... obv, followed all the instructions:
adb devices - showed my device all was good
2nd: adb reboot bootloader
3rd: fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
4th: fastboot reboot + holding volume down and power button, on logo released power button and pressed it down again, finally got to factory data reset 2 YES options and saw the Teamwin bootup logo, but then phone just booted up normally...
5th: Tried to open recovery once more, but then it did regular Data erease.
What could be wrong?

I had exactly same problem when I did this = only Teamwin bootup logo and then boot into android (I hope your bootloader is unlocked first).
Solution was you have to use TWRP 3.1.1-0 and u get into recovery. I tried more versions of TWRP (3.2.1-0 , 3.2.2-0 , 3.2.3-0) but ONLY 3.1.1-0 works and I dont know why.
Anyway I got another issue after because I didn't want to install root yet (first I wanted to backup).
An issue was I got into restarting loop by installing no-verity-opt-encrypt 6.0 which should be a solution for boot into android without losing TWRP (considering to one walkthrough I found).
I was lost for a while but I found a solution = install another boot.img (in my case I installed one dm-verity or dm-verity & forceencrypt zip file - btw what is a difference between them?).
Oh wow.. Well thanks, ill try your solution as soon as i get time. Bootloader is unlocked indeed, used latest twrp. I'll try 3.1.1-0.
@ Razexay
that happened to me also with Official TWRP take that from Eliminater74 that's where backup and encryption work with dm-verity & forceencrypt look here in the forum everything is well described
