Merry Christmas everybody!
I wanted to flash TWRP on my S7 Edge but it didn't really go smooth. I disabled OEM lock and flashed it through Odin and it said it was a success but on reboot I met the FRP screen so I had to flash a stock firmware. Now it's fine but S Health says that my phone is rooted and doesn't launch. I tried in safe mode and it doesn't still launch. The problem is that my counter is at 0! I read that by flashing a custom binary you trip KNOX and the counter can't be reverted to 0. How's it possible? Is my KNOX tripped? And if not, would it be tripped if I manage to correctly install TWRP?
yes, knox is tripped but u can use s-health, just install the ancient version of the app and set it up, after that, just update s-health from play store and also the knox is already tripped, so flash the firmwares and happy flasing.
If i helped u, don't forget to say thanks.

But why does the counter remain at 0x00?
Can you post an image of the counter which shows 0x00?

i will second that, can u upload the image. if all u r saying is true, then u have flashed the wrong version of twrp or messed up a few steps of that process.
but if u had done something different and still has knox intact, then sir u r a genius, if the flashing went the right way. but u can try again for that.

I believe that something went wrong during the flash process(even if Odin said it was a success) because I used the right version of TWRP. So my Knox isn't tripped? If it isn't is it common for S health to behave this way?
EDIT: i left auto-reboot checked in Odin. Coul this be the cause?

You need to reflash stock again bro, your knox isn't tripped because twrp wasn't flashed correctly, you need to enable allow oem unlock and usb debugging first in developer options before flashing custom recovery/roms, simply reflash stock samsung for your region again.

I actually did enable OEM unlock and I have USB debugging enabled all the time.
If I flash a stock ROM along with its CSC will S health work again?
Thank you for your answer

Yes according to my knowledge it should work if knox bit is 0x0, but if knox isn't tripped that means recovery wasn't flashed correctly.
Sent from my S7 Edge using XDA Labs
Yeah. That would indeed mean that your recovery was not flashed correctly. So just use Odin to clean flash stock completely and then see what S-health says.

if by doing above steps and flashing your stock rom doent work correctly and s-health shows error, then just install an old version of shealth which you can download from apkmirror and set it up after setting up just update it from play store, it will work again.
I finally managed to find my old firmware. I flashed it and so far it's fine. Thank you everybody.

I created a spot on my website for the stock Odin Tar's that I use for the P600.
I posted the US / XAR Region Stock Odin. I also posted the ML1 Asian base I used as well.
As I gather newer ones I will put them up and updated this thread.
Although this guide is written for the p600 it would, in theory work on any P60x device so long as you have the proper Odin files!
Note: This will not "untrip knox"!!!!!!!!
Here is the download page on my site:

How to Return to stock
This mini guide assumes the following...
You were able to root and or install a custom recovery or ROM therefore the drivers are installed on your PC for the tablet. So here we go...
Download Odin from the links in the OP
Extract the the .md5 file from the zip file you downloaded above.
Boot tablet into "Download" mode. You can do this by holding Power and Volume - (down) when the device is shut off. I note on this device it can be a little trickier so you may have to try a couple times. You should now see this on your tablet

}
Connect Tablet to PC using known good USB Cable
Start Odin and Press the "AP" button to load the tar.md5 file. This may take a minute as it is also calculating the MD5 to ensure you have a good file. A bad file means bad issues and it wont let you flash it (good fail safe).
Once Odin sees the Tar and loads it completely AND Odin sees the tablet press the Start button to begin. Can takes about 5 to 10 minutes so be patient. Do NOT check or uncheck mark ANY other Options in Odin unless you know what you are doing!
Once it complete you will have a factory image on your tablet. Yay!
But we are not done. You may also want to, at this point, reboot to recovery and do a full data wipe. This method of Odin leaves the SD card and user data intact. To get into recovery hold Power and Volume + until you see the stock Android recovery. Select format Data, reboot. Boom, your tablet is like brand new!

What happens if I failed to root (according to TWRP) and am stuck in the Samsung splash screen? I was obviously able to install TWRP so hopefully that is enough for Odin to get me back to stock
Will this work?

The directions I posted should hold true about getting to Odin / Download Mode
Thanks for this guide, I agree, it should definitely be in the development section.

Yes, this is returning you to stock like when you turned it on for the very first time.
No one knows how to untrip knox.
Is it Knox that blocks the ota updates, or is it the rooting itself?

Not sure. Never tried to Ota with KNOX.
Maybe ask in the Q/A forums.
Just to be safe, and If I do this the tablet will be as if it was completely new, right? I'm going to exchange it for another one and I want to be sure it's as new. Are there any flash counters or stuff like that I should be worried about?
Sent from my Nexus 5
So when a system update comes out we could use these directions to flash the stock rom with out loosing data, apps, settings, etc? Then be able to get the stock OTA?
Coming from the Nexus world, This is a bit different. Google seems to have no interest in the 10 inch sector though, so here we are.
Never have we had a tablet so heavily defended with so many issues. 6 tablets and this one stands out.

I think I understand what you are saying, but I'm new to Android, and would appreciate a sanity check::cyclops:
1. Knox "trips" (i.e. opens a fusible link in the hardware) if you root the tab and (or?) boot with a non-factory ROM. Once it trips, it cannot ever be "untripped", even if you return to a factory ROM image. (Hence the emphatic statement in the quote.)
2. Question: If a tablet is currently, and has always been, unrooted and stock, will using Odin and these instructions with a factory ROM trip knox? For example, to upgrade to the factory KitKat image
3. Follow-up question: If I flash KitKat as above, can I return to the original release by following your guide, again without tripping knox?
Thanks for the guide and software, and for your help.

1. As far as anyone knows, Knox cannot be untripped.
2. If you Odin a FACTORY IMAGE it WILL NOT trip Knox. Only custom roms/rooting trips AFAIK.
3. I'm not 100% sure as I haven't tried, but I think I've seen discussions where the bootloader wasn't changed so you could go back. Again, I'm not 100% sure. Maybe we could get clarification from someone who tried.

Download Odin v3.10 and install on PC. Install Samsung Driver Suite on PC. Download CF Auto Root by Chainfire. Start up Odin on PC and uncheck everything, power down phone, hold Power & Volume Down until phone goes into Download Mode, connect to PC. Press PDA button in Odin, select CF Auto, click start. Wait for PASS in green (I usually wait another 30 seconds). Unplug phone, pull battery, replace, and reset. Download SuperSU from the Play Store and start the app up. Done.

Only Verizon and AT&T lock bootloaders. It's already unlocked. I think you're confused on what a bootloader is, are you referring to SIM unlock?
I had no idea sprint didnt lock bootloaders. I just came from Verizon with locked bootloaders. Luckily I was able to get mine unlocked.
So just to confirm once we root the sprint phone nothing else is needed to be able to install custom recovery and Roms?

Actually if you're going that route, skip rooting, Odin TWRP and flash a ROM and you'll save time because pretty much every ROM is rooted.

Maybe try this.
1) First, make sure "OEM Unlocking" is switched on in Developer Options in Settings before rooting or you will likely trip Factory Reset Protection in your device and get locked out, though FRP lock is also fixable.
2) Try flashing this TWRP here in the AP slot of Odin. At least a few people have said it works on their SM-G361F.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=67891001
3) Boot into TWRP(by powering on the device and holding volume UP + HOME button). Then flash the SuperSU installable zip(not the app) in TWRP from here to root your device:

You do have to be in bootloader mode of course for Odin to install TWRP. If you weren't then you can get there by powering on the device and holding volume DOWN + the HOME button with the device plugged in. Then I think it's volume UP once to confirm. If you were in bootloader mode though, you will want to ask the people on that TWRP thread, particularly the ones who had success. Then, once you get TWRP running, try the SuperSU method for rooting.

I told you in step 1 to make sure OEM unlocking is switched on or that would happen. Did you do that? I'm not sure about the Value Edition of Core Prime, but you should have the option to do OEM unlocking in developer options. Just tap the "Build Number" in "About Device" in Settings about 7 times to add "Developer Options" to the Settings list, then check in there for the OEM unlocking switch. If you don't have one, then it means the Value Edition doesn't allow you to unlock your bootloader, which means you can't root.
Just flash the stock firmware in Odin from sammobile.com to fix the FRP lock. Pick the right one for your region and also flash it in the AP slot of Odin.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G361F/
Then follow the steps above to root properly.
NOTE: You can also try asking here to see if they either have made or can make a prerooted firmware for your device.

Ok. If it doesn't work just request a prerooted firmware from the OP of that thread I linked you. Good luck!
EDIT: Another thing you can do, if you don't mind changing firmware versions is to go to the sammobile link I gave you above and click on all the ones for your country and write down all the PDA(Baseband) numbers that match your devices Product Code. You can determine the product code by downloading an app called "Phone INFO *Samsung*" on the Play Store and looking at "Active CSC Code" under the CSC Code tab. Afterwards you can try searching each PDA # on the prerooted firmwares thread to see if maybe the OP has already made a compatible firmware for your device. Might be worth checking anyhow.

"Does android phone fresh firmware flashing affect the SIM lock/unlock condition?"
The answer is no.
If your phone is locked, it will stay locked after you flash a new firmware.
And if it’s unlocked it will stay unlocked.
However if you want to unlock a phone with unlock codes you must revert the firmware to stock if you change it with a custom ROM.

No risk at all but clashing of both firmwares... but you don't flash so you should be fine.
Yes, that is the thread i got the link from.
You can flash HOME_CSC if you want settings back that you had. P Firmware isn't ideal anymore for anyone.

You can flash HOME_CSC if you want settings back that you had. P Firmware isn't ideal anymore for anyone.

home csc doesn't wipe all your data, normal csc wipes your data like a factory reset.

It worked!!!! Man, you're awesome, thank you for the support. I don't lost any data, I don't have bloatware and I can hotspot. Thank you very very much!!!
@Eahmmed . Make sure you enable developer options and change transition/window animation scales to .05x for faster tasking; especially on U.

Follow this guide, it will help you. You will need to download an older ROM version for you device than what you had before the FRP lock. So if you were running Oreo, flash down to N or, better yet, MM. Unfortunately you will lose everything on the phone.
I did try older rom, but i can't install other than binary 6, and i can't install TWRP since its FRP Locked
It needs to be the stock ROM for your device, so forget TWRP until you find one that Odin will flash. Once you've booted into the system you can then root and start over again.
Yes, i understand the procedure, the thing is that i can't find stock rom, i have tried almost every latest roms from (imei.info/download-firmware/samsung/samsung-g935f-galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935F/) 8.0 Android.

Check Sammobile; you'll find every ROM released for your devices. One of them definitely will work, you just have to test which one is right for you (both).

solid advice man! one thing i didnt see mentioned is that SamFirm and the Frija tool will allow you to download archived FirmWare sets without paying. all you need to know id the full file name for pda and csc. Put those in the Frija tool or SamFirm and itll download them. I have personally verified this with both tools
help
