Why no miui? xdxd
Me and a group of some devs tried to port MIUI a while back, we pretty much came to the conclusion it was near impossible since the build would pretty much always fail, so thats why we don't have MIUI
@Linux Lounge
I've prepared patchROM for MIUI 8 for J3(before ofc), and now I've fixed 30 errors, just 7 husks need fix, but Faltisal said that's not possible so I gave up.
But if you have free time, you can try to port FlymeOS (Nougat based)

Well, I read a little on the documentation provided and it seems that MIUI will now provide a patchrom which we can now freely integrate into a Stock ROM of our choice and it becomes a unofficial Miui ROM.
Core files like framework, systemui, and all the jar files need to be updated with MIUI codes.

I somehow don't like MIUI. Feels more like using an iPhone. I really wish someone had cooked up an AOSP Gingerbread ROM at least for the Note. I am just way too pissed off with the laggy TouchWiz.

MIUI China Forum Porting team members have bring MIUI 7 to 3rd party devices and ours is one of them. Please note that this is MIUI 7 China ROM and ported ROMs are not tested by MIUI officially, there might be risks flashing the ROM.
Testers are welcome to flash this rom and to say if it is Official MIUI 7 or just MIUI 6 THEMED ROM.

Its the same download link and it's still based on 4.4.4 kikat. The official miui7 is based on lollipop.
Mine is still Kitkat on MIUI 7, though.

Nothing wrong with upgrade if you like it. I just want to clear some confusing. For example, the ROM based on cm11 (kitkat) and they throw in some features and wallpapers from lollipop and call it a cm12 ROM. In fact, its still cm11 ROM. You get an idea. I'm using cos12.1 now. I try miui but don't like it.

If that's what you think, then you're mistaken. MIUI is nothing more than a skin, it doesn't have a separate base. For example, MIUI 5 was on JB 4.2.2 for the Redmi Note, 4.3 for the Redmi 1S, KK 4.4.2 for Cancro(Mi3 and Mi4: they both share same ROMs). Xiaomi basically just sticks their skin on any android version they can compile easily for that particular device.
The official MIUI 7 for the flagship Mi devices (Cancro) is also on KitKat 4.4.4. So yes, this is genuine MIUI 7 (although everyone agrees that MIUI 7 is nothing but a new theme and new wallpapers; trust me I had a Mi3 before this, and my old friends are all up in arms about the disappointment that is MIUI 7)
And as for the link being the same, that's cuz its the official MIUI download page. And if you look carefully, you can see it says MIUI version 7.
As for whether its worth updating, I'd say screw MIUI, we're WAY past KitKat. Xiaomi can go to hell (coming from an ex-Xiaomi user) unless they provide proper updates.

Hello and Welcome to the MIUI 7 Nexus 6 Port Thread !
I've started this Thread to create a MIUI 7 Port for our beloved Nexus 6.
In order to do this, i need a lot of Help from YOU!
I will edit this Thread from time to time to make it more Eye Friendly. Also i've included DEVB on this Thread.
Here is just a LINK for the announcement of MIUI 7 (Marshmallow 6.0 Based) on G+:
https://plus.google.com/+MariusYeezus/posts/QdjVGpkr8Ka
First of all we have to wait for a Stable MIUI 7 Marshmallow Build from Xiaomi. I think a Mix of Mi4 and/or Mi Note / Pro System is the Best Choice.
Base will be a AOSP ROM on Android 6.0 (Maybe my last ROM Evolvere HD3) but let's see...
The Second thing is that i need Help with logging and Kernel Patches (I'm not the Linux Guy)! If you want to Help me with the Port just send me a PM here on XDA. Or text me on Hangouts to [email protected] !
Requests for Testing will be strictly ignored!
First we have to bake the Cake! So Chill and stay tuned!

No 64 Bit devices Mate! Mi4 has a SD801 and the Mi Note too (Maybe SD805 idk.) The Pro Version has a 1440p Display and a SD810 64Bit. But we can use parts of the System to have no layout Problems caused by 1080p System on our 1440p Screen. I've done 1 or 2 Ports in the past, that was on early Kitkat but there are some things i can still remeber

Would it be better to just try to port the lollipop version of miui. That would be more of a reality. I really don't care to have a marshmallow version of it. Just my opinion. I'm sure everybody would be happy just to have it.

Hi, I wanted to know why there is not a MIUI rom based in Android MM for the OPO?
Here you go. These are official and semiofficial. There are no Custom roms based on MM becouse miui rom is created in miui patchrom base. There is no MM patchrom as for now. Maby I'm wrong, it was long time ago when i was using miui.

Because it's the OPO. It's like you ask "Why there is Nougat Preview for N5 and not for the OPO ?" haha I tried to port Xiaomi Mi4's Miui 8 build (based on 6.0) to the OPO, because the specs are similar. The rom boot BUT stay on the bootanimation. And X_s is already on the Miui8 project so I give up and now we have just to wait.
