So I got this model second hand with the seller stating clearly that the sim card didn't always get detected and he knew it from the first boot screen (LG with android logo) if it was very dim then it meant the sim card wouldn't be detected. He'd reboot a few times and then it'd work fine. I haven't had any success to make the sim work however and I think it must be a software issue. I flashed the latest Taiwan firmware with LGUP with no luck, tried bot upgrade and refurbish options. I also am not able at all to get into recovery mode to wipe cache to see if that solves anything. The dim logo appears and I do the button combo (Vol Down+Power then release and press Power again) but it keeps looping the dim logo screen, until I release the buttons and it boots up normally.
I'm out of options now. Maybe I'll try flashing the Vietnam firmware since the previous guy might have flashed the wrong firmware but I'm asking for any other suggestions.
Also, in the IMEI information both IMEI and IMEI SV are stated as Unknown.
Have you found a solution to this problem?

Hi guys first i want you to know that my english is bad...
My phone is G900K - SpaceX Rom 5.0
I am using SpaceX Rom 5.0 for weeks and it is buggy, i experience random boot, app crash, fast battery drain and freezes.
Yesterday i reboot my phone and after "Android is Starting" i got message that System Crash or System UI i am not sure what it is but it has System word in error report. Then my phone didn't start so i remove the battery and put it again. After pressing on the Power on Button my S5 starts and i notice the Blue Light in Upper Left didn't Light Up and my phone didn't boot to 2nd Samsung Logo. When i press Power On Button my S5 will turn on and 1st Samsung Logo will appear then It will Turn Off then Vibrates then goes back to 1st Samsung Logo it keeps repeating. Also i try Recovery Mode but i can't enter to it my phone will repeat the same process as i Turn On my phone. I can go to Download Mode, And i flash Stock Rom and after flashing Stock Rom there's a blue text in upper left Recovery Booting... but its not booting into recovery, It will just turn off again then vibrates then goes to 1st Samsung Logo.
If anyone experiencing the situation right now you can comment
Same issue here. My phone is stuck at RECOVERY BOOTING. Is there anyone who can fix this issue? Thanks.
Boot to download mode (Vol down & Home & Power)
Flash stock ROM from sammobile .com with ODIN
Instructions under the download on their site
Go into download mode and do a firmware upgrade and initialisation through kies3. You will need your serial number and model number( on the white sticker behind the battery. in kies3 go tools> firmware upgrade and initialisation, then follow the on screen steps. I used this when I soft bricked my note 2 when I had it, I personally find it's the best way to restore a samsung device.
You should try first with kies3, it did help me to recover from custom ROM installation.
If it fails, flash stock with Odin3 from phone download mode is your last option.
I'm having the exact same issue! Been trying to flash the stockfirmware, but still stuck in recovery booting loop! Even trying to get into recovery mode has it looping. Kiess 3 says that my serial number is invalid, so matter which number I put in too. Hoping for some help!

Mine is the SM-G900W8 with Telus, so if we have the same model, I could probably give you my serial number cause I never had issues with mine. I know I have read places that sometime when people get stuck in recovery like that, they do a factory wipe and cache wipe in the stock recovery to get it to boot.
This same thing is happening with my s5 Verizon.. Need help to fix this i've tried flashing via odin, factory reseting..nothing worked
Can anybody help me please....thanks
Im so lost with this, im all stock but one day my phone just freezes then bootloop, I would be able to get it work by just leaving it and let it drain itself since it will be boot looping and lock me out completely, like the power button + low volume button would not work even after 10 minutes of holding it, would not boot to download or recovery mode, just the soft touch keys light on and the blue LED.
I reflashed my ROM from sammobile yesterday but did it half-effort, just dirty flashed it but it seemed to reformatted my phone anyway, after reflashing it, everything seemed to work properly for 20 hours and then now im back to this piece of ********* boot looping...
S7 Edge
running the Australia unbranded XSA-G935FXXS1DQG4 from the branded G935FXXS1DQG5,
would flashing de-branded affect this? or this is hardware?, one thing I did that I think was a mistake is that I chose to restore from old device, can apps cause this?
the very first time this happened, I plugged it in to charge then crash and bootloop.
UPDATE:
Things I've tried,
-Booting with NO sim card and SD Card
-Wiping cache and partition then reflashing stock XSA and OPS firmwares
im convinced that this is a hardware issue and will go to Samsung.
mine does this too. crashes then gets into a bootloop at the Samsung logo. I usually try holding the lock and volume down button. I factory reset the phone once but it still keeps happening, this started happening around 4 weeks ago
Guys your Main/Mother-boards are broken.. u need to replace it, or send back to Samsung..
Damn! Crash reboot samsung logo
Damn you say broken mother board...
did this. Press vol down, power button and home key...hmmm... i think...pressed so many combos hard to tell themapart
Hey everyone!
I've got an H990DS V20 that decided to stop booting yesterday. I get the LG logo and then it just restarts.
I've tried doing a factory reset through the recovery menu and it goes through that, but then I just get stuck with the phone restarting again.
To provide more details:
I'm not actually getting a recovery menu when I press Vol Down during boot. Instead, it JUST brings up a menu that says factory reset. Maybe this is the recovery menu? But it isn't as I'm seeing described on the internet.
So this seems important....but maybe It's normal
I've used LGUP to install the latest stock firmware for the H990ds10g.... but then I realized there is a H99010gb and H990ds10g on the website. LGUP says the version of my phone is H99010g...but it is absolutely an H990DS
Is it possible that the phone's logic board is for a non DS model and that would cause the issues if you installed the DS firmware?
So, I rooted and tried flashing the stock ROM (from Sammobile, same country, same exact model [SM-G950F], I already had the stock ROM and had never flashed anything else to the phone other than root, June security update, my phone had July's) to see if I could fix a problem that couldn't be fixed with any other method I had tried.
Everything in Odin seemed to go well, I got the PASS green box at the end. But then the phone couldn't go pass the Samsung logo when booting up. I left it quite a few minutes, before trying to boot into recovery mode and wiping data. Only to realize that I couldn't boot into recovery mode. In fact, I can't even turn the phone off. No combination of hardware keys works other than power button + bixby + vol down, to get into download mode. But that's of no use, because when I plug my phone into my PC (with the same cable and port I used before to root and flash the firmware into it) it is not recognized by Odin or the PC.
It just has the Samsung logo flashing slowly over and over because I can't turn the device off. By the time the battery dies out I'll most likely have the logo burnt into the display.
I also haven't been able to find any help online. Everyone's suggestion is “boot into recovery and wipe data”, but I can't do that.
Is my phone gone for good?
I tried to root my device trough odin. Odin said it was succesful, but when i turned on my device it said someehing like 'vertification failed, you have to reset your device'. So i tapped the button 'reset'. Then my phone restarted and its now stuck on a boot loop with the 'erasing' screen. It just goes to a blue screen with the android logo and beneath it it says 'erasing'. Then after a few seconds, it restarts and turns back to the screen again.
I cannot get into recovery mode, because you'd have to do it with the power button, volume and bixby button, but the second i try to do that, it just restarts and starts the loop again. Even when my phone stopped with the bootloop and just shut down, when I hold my power button it just restarts the boot loop... I already let the battery drain but then still, it just happens again.
I can only get into download mode, but thats all. I dont know my build number. I already looked at the box my phone came in when i ordered it, but all I could find was:
- an IMEI code
- an S/N code.
- a long code existing of numnbers only.
None of these codes I think were build numbers, only the S/N code contained letters.
So I dont think i have my build number. I cant get into recovery mode since it just starts the bootloop.
Please help
My phone is a samsung galaxy sm-g950f
I hope my phone isnt bricked and this can be fixed.
