Problem with a cut down standard sim card - Sony Xperia X Compact Questions & Answers

Hello,
I bought X Compact (F5321), I inserted a nano sim card (let's call it "A") and it was working fine
So then I tried to insert a (cut down to nano) standard sim (let's call it "B") and it cannot register to the network (though it's being recognized).
This same sim card (B) is working perfectly on a lumia, an iphone 4s and a couple of other smartphones (wiko sunny, and energy lite).
The contract of A and B is both on bmobile Japan, but B is on a voice-only contract (no internet option).
I installed a custom rom and rooted the phone following this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...oot-automatic-repack-stock-kernel-dm-t3301605
I then added some other bands working for Japan (all the bands correctly showing in the "Configuration" screen) and I was able to select [JAPAN BAND] without any error whatsoever, and still no signal at all..
Any idea why card B isn't working?
Many thanks in advance for any suggestion

GPRS aceess causes sim to deregister from network

I have a strange problem,
I have a Sim card A which is a corporate sim card which i use for Data access and Sim Card B which a personal sim used only for voise and text
If i put Sim Card A in the master slot (only this slot can access data) the sim card de registers from the network and i get a no service icon (this happens intermittently) but it works well without any issues in the slave slot (No data Access)
Sim Card B works great in both slots
Any solutions???

Dual Sim Adaptor doesn't work in TYTN II (ORange UK Only)

I have a TYTN II on the Orange UK network (Pay Monthly). The phone is unlocked and works with a O2 (Pay as you GO) SIM on the network.
I recently bought the following Dual SIM Adaptor :-
http://www.m-99.co.uk/Mobile_Phone_Twin_SIM_Adapters/mobile_phone_twin_sim_adapters.html
I cut both my SIMS and tested them on a Nokia. The SIMS work fine in the Nokia, I can select SIM 1 or SIM 2.
On plugging the adaptor into my TYTN, the O2 network works fine.
On switching to the Orange UK network the phone shows signal, but after approx 15 seconds the network shows no signal.
When trying to access the SIM Manager during this 15 seconds it does state that the SIM is initialising.
The Adaptor works fine on a Nokia but not a TYTN II. Any Ideas ??
Perhaps it requires different hardware? On the site you have to choose the model ..
Bought one from another site and same problem.
I chose the TYTN adaptor.
I'll try a different ROM.

Maybe you have to turn the radio off before switching from one sim to another.
Have you set it to GSM network type ?
Go to: Settings>Phone>Band (you will need a working sim installed to enter phone options)
I had a bunch of dual sims that worked great on WM PDAs, sold um all.
Your problem sounds like the Orange SIM is not connecting well.
One trick that can work well is to place the Dual sim adaptor (SIMs loaded in adaptor) on a flat surface PCB side down & apply even preassure over the top with your thumb (Give it a good hard squash)
This normally cures it.
Another option is to swap the sim positions & see if Orange works in the O2 slot (this will prove sim terminal connection problem)
Thanks Mister B,
Went to Settings>Phone>Band and switched from Auto to GSM. All works fine.
Cheers
DUAL SIM Not working on Treo 750 WM 6.1 GSM phone
The Dual SIM Adapter boasts of not needing to switch off to switch between SIMS. But it shows only default SIM 1 and not the second SIM. My Treo 750 is a unlocked WM 6.1 GSM type. Can anyone help pls?
No 1: follow tip in post #5
No 2: remove sim adaptor from phone place it on a flat hard surface with the PCB board facing down & roll your thumb over the back of it with reasonable pressure & then retry it in your device.
Some of these adaptors need a lot of patience to get working due to poor contacts between sim cards & adaptor.
You can also swap position of your 2 SIMs which will help fault diagnose the issue.

Dual Sim no cut

Anyone found a dual sim with no cut option for raphael?
Theres simply no room for that nside the Raphael.
I would recommend a cut version (and do buy the special plyers to cut).
I use a 13th gen DUAL SIM that switches via SIMToolkit very neat. Bought on Ebay.
I even get to see the active Phonenumber (as setup in the SIMToolkit) in Manila Homescreen.
Can you write someone more about runnig this dual card in STK and upload working version of STK here?
My mind is semi-blown, you mean people are using two different sim cards in one phone?
Dual SIM card adapters make it possible to use (generally) 2 SIMs in your phone. Only one of he SIMs can be active at any time (remember the phone only has one radio).
As there is hardly any unused room inside modern phones the best option is to use a 'cut'-type dual SIM adapter.
1st what you do is, is cut your two SIM's neatly round the brass contact's. You can use special plyers to do that more safeky.
2nd you put these two cut SIMs into the adapter. The adapter has the dimensions and shape of a SIM.
3rd Put the adapter in the SIM slot in your phone and youre done.
The 13th Geneation Dual SIM adapter that I use, uses the SIM Toolkit (STK) application to switch the active SIM. This appears to be reliable. The STK hooks into the software of the Dual SIM adapter. On my phone it even presents itself as 'Dual SIM Card' in the programs folder.
The Dual SIM adapter i have appears to also work under WM 6.5 and also supports GPRS, Edge, 3G, .....I have used this adapter on my previous Wizard and am using it now in my Raphael.

Help with Zenphone 2 laser ZE551KL, not detecting data sim card

I'm having problem with a Asus Zenphone 2 Laser ZE551KL.
I'm from Dominican Republic. I bought this phone to use 2 sims. one for calling (ORANGE) and the another for LTE Data (TRICOM).
This is my history:
When the phone arrive i put my 2 sims cards to the phone and update to the lastest Android version available: WW_ 1.17.40.1234. After that i can use the sim card ORANGE for calling but the data sim cards isn't detected by the Zenphone. I tried with another TRICOM Data sim card with the same result.
Also, i tried with a sim card from another company (CLARO) ant it works. it was detected by the Zenphone.
Later, i flashed CM 13.0 for the Zenphone and i get LTE data using the TRICOM sim card but for a 1 minute or less. I mean, when the phone boot up it get lte data and show me the icon LTE indicating that is working but after one minute the signal turn off. I only get data for that short time.
Also i test the lte sim card on another zenphone Z00A and it worked perfect.
the problem is that when using stock rom the sim card for lte data is not detectec. when i use CM 13.0 Rom, the sim card lte is detectec for a minute and it get loss.
Any suggestion about it?
I would like to try changing the modem version, but i don't know how to do it.
Did you check your APN settings? Different companies use different settings. Maybe the ROM doesn't have them set for one or the other SIM

A510FD Dual SIM Mode Dual 4G/LTE?

I'm thinking of getting this phone because of the dedicated SD card slot (most dual SIMs share the second SIM which is no good to me). (I currently have the Sony Z5 E6833 which I hate!) Anyway, I'm on Three UK. The problem with three is that they don't run GSM. What that means is that I need both SIMs to operate at 3G+ at the same time. Does anyone know if this phone does that? I ask because my Z5 puts the passive SIM into GSM mode which instantly disconnects it from the network (Three UK) making the dual SIM pointless. I won't be making that mistake again!
TIA
m
You can only select 1 sim card at a time to be in LTE/3G mode the other one will automatically go to 2G.
I tried it on Galaxy A5 2016 A510FD
