Hi, I might have messed up.
Took backup of all media, except that I'd forgotten that I also had a lot of photos saved as mms, directly in the messages. I'd also like to keep some of the messages, from my grandparents etc.
I'm stuck on "breathing" Samsung-logo.
I followed this recipe, as I've used it once before with success. Not this time though.
http://mobilesiri.com/galaxy-s7-edge-exynos-root/
I downloaded the auto-root from chainfire, but it might be outdatet?
https://download.chainfire.eu/930/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-hero2lte-hero2ltexx-smg935f.zip
I used Odin 3.12.3. Loaded the tar-file in AP.
Com + text comes up as good.
Started, and it came up as passed in a matter of seconds.
Phone turns off after a little while, and turn on again.
It won't go past the Samsung-logo when I power it on.
Safe-mode doesn't work, but it will go to download mode. I've tried wiping the cache, didn't help.
I might be mistaken, but could it be possible to flash stock rom from Odin, using this firmware: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935F/NEE/download/G935FXXU1DQJ2/193815/
It does look like it according to https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583588 and https://android.stackexchange.com/q...flashing-stock-rom-via-odin-delete-phone-data
If this isn't the case. Is it possible to install a recovery-program with Odin, even though the phone is "stuck"?
I've heard some people say it *might* be possible.
All the best, and thanks for any input
Chris
Well, I advice you to wait for second opinion, but I was in the same situation, for the exception I knew my current firmware details, re-downloaded the same firmware from sammobile and flash it with ODIN. Whatever firmware you flash, you must use HOME_CSC which is included in the zip package, not the "pure" CSC. Saying it again, it helped me, but I knew my current CSC (changing CSC triggers factory reset AFAIK) and factory reset wasn't made, so you should wait for second opinion before attempting anything. Good luck

Thank you for replying MrYoan! I'm glad that you got your phone up and running again.
If anybody has a second opinon, I'd love to hear it.
Sorry if my text is too long/wrong etc.
Thanks again, Chris.

Every file? The tmax.dll and zlib.dll?
The tutorial said only the AP?
Thanks for replying btw. This thing is driving me nuts.

You should have a folder with BL, AP, CP and CSC. Try redownloading the firmware from another site like sammobile
I recovered some pics with an app. Maybe this is also a solution if you need to do a full wipe.

How? Was your phone correctly rooted beforehand?

Hello, I just received a used Galaxy S4 and I can't seem to get wi-fi to work. Every time I try to turn it on any other network than my own it simply gets stuck. The only fix that I've tried until now is a factory reset which doesn't really work. The KNOX has already been tripped by the former owner (it's 0x01) and I'm pretty handy with flashing tools like Odin. I've heard about flashing a different "non-HLOS" modem, but I don't really understand which one I should use. I have attached to this post two screenshots of the version, baseband and CSC.
So, what should I do? Should I try a non-HLOS modem? Which one should I use? Is there any way to mess up the EFS that way?

Unfortunately that did not work. Any other ideas? Should I try a custom ROM? Or can you point me to a stock firmware which doesn't have this issue?
LE: Well, editing the build.prop securestorage line seems to fix it, but since it's not mine, I would prefer a more permanent fix, one that doesn't go away with a factory reset.
Hi Guys I was one of you for a long time then drifted to the darkside with apple. I am back but so much has changed and I want to ensure that I dont goose up.
I have a SM G935F S7 edge
I have contacted my provider and recieved sim unlock code. Placed alternative sim in phone and entered the code and it returned sim unlock. (its a pay as you go sim i used to unlock with no credit so I cant test I can make a call)
I am torn between rooting and not because of my banking app with Barclays, but on the advice of others I would like to try a stock samsung rom without all the bloatware.
I have sith super backup backed up my contacts apps call logs and sms messages and saved them to google drive.
So have I dont all i need before flashing and if so which stock rom can I use. do I simply use the most recent BTU from smmobile for my country or is there a better way to select the rom I should install.
Look forward to your answers but if anyone has Barclays app working on root let me know then I will just take the plunge I care not about the warranty as I have alternative insurance which wouldnt care.
Thanks again in advance
One of the reasons I haven't rooted is for the same reason as you. Barclays are a real pain in the arse to rooted customers. I have tried everything to get around this but nothing can. The only other option is logging in via the website but every so often this requries a card reader so it can be a pain in the arse.
Anyway, to answer your question, you seem to have covered anything. BTU is probably your best option if you would like stock samsung with less bloat. Although, I believe you will not receive any OTA updates and would have to update manually when updates become available.

Also, yes I have tried the method on reddit. It did not work for me. I gave up trying in the end and have not rooted my most recent S7.

BTU is UK unbranded.
Download this: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/116121/G935FXXU1BPLB_G935FBTU1BPK3_BTU/ this is the latest
Also download odin 3.11.1 the link is just below the details on the download page.
once everything has finished downloading, backup important data on your phone and put your phone into download mode, unzip the Rom file, there will be 5 files inside, delete CSC_HOME (you don't need it), Flash BL, CP, CSC and AP all with odin, but in odin settings, select Re-partition, F.reset time, Auto-Reboot, then start, the CSC file contains a PIT file which will wipe your phone.
Here is my thread on Sammobile confirming the flash: https://www.sammobile.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34984
I did the same with my S7 Edge to debrand it, I can confirm the Barclays app still works as its Samsung official software it doesn't trip knox, although I'm fed up now of waiting 6 months for android 7 I'm thinking of just going to a custom rom, i'll just use the browsers to goto Barclays.
The only way the Barclays app wont work is if you have ever flashed a custom recovery, rom, or rooted which all trip the knox counter to 0x1

Doesn't really matter to be honest, just means you loose a bit of space as the BTU firmware file is one of the smallest out of the lot due to the lack of bloatware, repartition would have given you this space as user storage, but its not much to be fair.

Will do anything that is really a must for disable..
or more importantly anything i must keep
I previosuly bought package disable Pro any difference is it worth me paying £0.99 for it when I already have one.
Since the update i keep getting a lot of random restarts, i was hoping there maybe an easy way to just reinstall the android 10 update and not have to wipe?
After all it just updates when you get it OTA so i am guessing i can maybe just run that update again in some way?
Can anyone help
thanks
James
Yes. All you must do is to create a Samsung Account and backup everything before wipe out. Once you get wiped, just restore using your Samsung Account.
Also, there are many good apps that you can do it without create an account, although I would create it and backup if I were you.
Cheers
You could also use frija and odin to download and install the latest update, however this is the whole software about 5gb.
You just use home_csc which does not wipe data.

Thanks, this sounds what i would probably want, would this be the closest thing to just doing a reinstall in the hope that it may overwrite some bad data that may be making my phone randomly restart?
Is this above basically the same as when you get the OTA and it just installs over the top without losing anything, i'd be best clearing cache after wouldn't I?

Yes add the others to the respective fields in odin.
One thing i did notice, i think the second on the list in odin when i added it, odin seem to stop responding, dont panic about that just leave it for a minute and it will come good.
Remember to uncheck re-partition.
Thank you
Hi All,
I brick my SM-N9860, after playing with changing csc on TGY firmware I got to situation that my phone doesn't boot to system and I have FRP lock. Its stuck on download mode (attached pics).
Factory reset in recovery mode doesn't work and I cant flash new firmware with odin because of FRP lock.
Maybe some can help how can I resolve this issue?
I tried to flash combination file with pit file but I get error that there is a FRP lock. I wanted to try the option in recovery "Apply update with adb" but I cant find OTA file for SM-N9860.
From what I understood there is some boxes and dongles like Octoplus Pro Box that can reflash the phone and remove the FRP lock but maybe there is a solution easier than this that works with odin??
The problem is to make my phone to boot, than I could remove the FRP lock because my problem not the google credentials only that it not boot up after factory reset...

Why don't you just put your Samsung account and password in? Because that's what you need to do in order to turn off the frp.. If you're going to tell us you don't know the Samsung user account and password that's only going to make us think the phone is stolen because that's basically what frp is meant to do block people from using it or doing updates or factory resetting it to try to remove the frp.. All you need is your Samsung account and password..

Can you do me a favor with a patched version of Odin or just try multiple different Odin versions and flash only the CSC, AP and BL. and yes this is going to factory reset it probably but at least you might have the phone back.. From what I understand I need Binary 4 file to unlock frp lock, maybe some one knows something about this file and if we got one anywhere?
I have never heard about it before, sorry
You may have to bite the bullet and send back to Samsung and have them reset the phone to original factory condition. It may cost some money, but better that than not having a phone at all -- a lot less than buying a new note for sure.
If you can't get it to flash on your own, I think that is your only option.
One quick thought - have you tried to turn off the phone and then boot back into Download mode? if not, try holding power and volume down until screen turns off - and when it is still off -quickly plug the USB cord into your phone. This will (should) force download mode - if it works - click volume up and then use Odin to try to flash the last firmware file you have (try all four files)
I don't know if this will help or make a difference, but if you haven't already tried this - it may work for you.
Good luck....

Yes I think too that sending back to seller is my only option, I'm trying to connect with him, I bought on ebay, the problem he's doesn't answering me.
About download mode of course I entered the download mode after he was turned off. Nothing works, the strange thing that its fails to flash the latest tgy firmware, there I dont have an error about pit file or frp lock but its still failes on AP file when trying to write super.img... So I don't know what the solution for that, maybe in next firmware version it
will succeed

You probably already tried this - but just in case, go to this link and download the most recent PATCHED Odin -
Then get several different USB Cords - Samsung Original is usually the best - but get different cords just the same -
then try to flash all four files in that patched odin - if it fails, close odin - open it again and reload the files and try again using a different USB Cord.
I believe that if you keep trying, you will eventually get it to work...
By the way, If you can't get the Seller to do the right thing - contact SAMSUNG Support and arrange to send it back to them. They may charge you (Probably around $100 or so I think) but they can definately help you get it working again.
Hope that helps - Good Luck.

super.img is from AP. Try to flash the build that was working on your phone before the issue happened, but without the AP.
The other day I followed the thread
Root_Method_Rev_B/11_Bootloader_Using_Combo_Firmware
This is a root method for the s7 and s7 edge on bootloader 11 (B) phones using the combination firmware. I really dont think it will do much but I will post it and maybe someone will do something with it Downloads...
forum.xda-developers.com
and though it works it is super buggy and constant crashes after reflashing several times. SO I wish to return the phone to complete stock. Is there a way to do this? I have read over several post about this and I just get errors or varying results no matter what method/rom I try to use.

What version of Odin are you using, and what firmware are you trying to flash?
Have you tried a different USB cable?
Generally flashing Samsung devices works pretty much the same. If you're returning to stock from a custom ROM or otherwise want to wipe data, use the CSC_xxxxx instead of HOME_CSC_xxxxx file in the CSC slot. Data doesn't mix and match well, so if you didn't wipe after coming from a custom ROM or other firmware, that could be the reason for the instability.

I've tried several ODIN versions. 3.12,3.13, 3.14, 2 different modified versions and it seems to be the same.
I have tried 3 different cables, no change.
I have tried using the normal CSC and HOME_CSC but I still return errors.
I can flash the combination firmware and the stock MM rom listed in the original post but no matter what other post I try to follow I can not get any to take. How can I get rid of this combination firmware and return to stock completely?

I think what you need to do is re-partition the device using the factory PIT file that's located in the CSC package. In the Odin options tab, check the NAND Erase and Re-Partition boxes, then in the PIT tab, select the PIT file you extracted from the CSC_xxxx.tar
DO NOT check Re-Partition without using the PIT file. Make sure you're using the correct firmware for your device as this could result in a brick.

Where should I get the PIT file from? Any particular site/rom file?

As I stated above, it should be in the CSC file.
Well, after many many hours of trying what seems like countless roms/files I have finally got it back to stock Oreo but the lag and stability is horrible. It is pretty much unusable, music apps crash/stutter, Playstore takes about 3 minutes to start up and can't even be scrolled through, returning to the home screen takes about 2 minutes as you watch each and every element load in one at a time including the wallpaper. I think the phone is trash now? I'm on B/11 (G935VVRSBCTC1) if that helps with any suggestions.

did you flash stock with odin?
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I got the rom from samfw and flashed with Odin. Then I tried using Smart switch to update it and it was all successful but the phone is still fairly jittery. It's not as bad as it was on the combo rom but music apps still stutter and the system overall is pretty laggy.
Side note: The phone ran like new prior to flashing the combo rom.

You need to extract the pit file from the stock firmware regular CSC file and load it in the pit tab in odin along with the other files and you need to flash regular CSC not home CSC

it sounds like you didnt wipe data so reboot too stock recovery and wipe data
I think it's running about as good as it's going to. I reflashed the stock Oreo firmware and extracted the pit, nand erase, re-partitioned, wiped data /cache. Still a bit jittery but it'll do. Just need it to play music while at work.
Thanks for the advice.
