BlueTooth dont work - S7Edge - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hello, How R U, Hope all are well.
My S7Edge have problem, Bluetooth dont work.
If I touch Bluetooth icon, nothing changes, at all.
I use SuperMan2.8 ROM by (Tkkg1994), used many kernels (NT, SuperStock, SuperMan)
I found some errors regarding it in the log, with Error flag.
I've checked with the ROM developer, and informed me that he didn't modified any of Samsung BT modules.
The problem is increased when I checked the Battery usage, to see that BT in consuming battery (some times same as screen).
1) Is Bluetooth hardware have problem?
2) Any software solution is available? or can be fixed?
3) If there is no solution, is it possible to software-disable Bluetooth chip?
Please, kindly download the log file from here, generated by aLogcat app.
Thanks in advance.

1) Download the correct modem/kernel/bl for that rom if you have not done so.
2) Delete your bluetooth config / pairings file (dont know location or name off top of my head)

Do a hard reset and restore your phone to its original (factory level) settings. This might work.

How can download the 4-files with recent update, that suits my device?

Why do you need to download them?
Do a factory reset, restore your phone to its initial settings and then perform any update you find necessary. There is no need to copy or downloads extra files.

[Q] No phone-network after ICS CM9

Hi,
I've used CM7 and CM9 before with no major problem. But probably did something wrong because after flashing couple of ICS ROMs my phone (Defy-red lens) became unusable with 2 problems:
- no mobile network connection (no phone-calls, no SMS, no 2/3G)
(Wifi and Bluetooth are OK)
- it does not save the setup, each boot is a new phone with new configuration setup.
I've tried different ROMs (CM9, Quarx, Skanky, etc) with different Kernels (7 & 9), but nothing seems to change this behavior.
The phone also doesn't recognize the IMEI and can't search of operators. I've attached some screeshots.
I was wondering if someone else could share their experience with me or, somehow try to help me. I'm willing to try out things....
Cheers.
You tried changing your baseband??
Sent from my Defy+ using Tapatalk 2
Baseband is not initialized/installed. In the first pic, it shows the baseband as 'unknown'. Select proper baseband matching your country from Baseband Switcher (settings -> Advanced->Baseband Switcher) and reboot your phone.

Baseband is by default on Europe > Central Europe > 3.4x 900/2100 MHz which is not right for me. Should be America > Brasil > TIM 3.4.2-107-9 850/2100 Mhz.
The problem is, as I mentioned, that the phone does not save any settings. After the reboot the Baseband comes back to the default setting.
I already did the wipe factory/reset, wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache many times before/after flashing a ROM (and event deleted the dalvik cache folder via terminal emulator since it wasn't asking for confirmation when deleting via cwm) but didn't really change anything...
Any idea what's leading to the settings not being saved?
Thank you for helping.
PS: I didn't play with partitions, but as I've read in this post, of a similar problem, that this might be the case, I'll post the screenshot of the command df just in case...

Though the problem seems quite different but it might be your baseband switcher..
try BBs_v4
It might work.

Thanks. I was able to change the baseband with this app (and somehow keep this setting after a reboot - see screenshots), but under "About phone" still shows as Baseband version Unknown. And I still have no network signal...
Meanwhile... the matter with partitions and settings lost after reboot:
I know a litte of Linux, but I don't understand Android's structure or how it deals with partitions, but I might have found something:
In Bootmenu Recovery > Advanced > Show Log reads:
Bootmenu Recover v.5.0.6
I:Chechinkg arguments.

ro.allow.mock.location=0
ro.debuggable=0

ro.factorytest=0
ro.usb_mode=normal
ro.bootmode=reboot
ro.baseband=unknown
ro.carrier=unknown
ro.bootloader=0x0000
ro.hardware=mapphone_umts
ro.revision=0
I:Cheching for extendcommand...
I:Skipping execution of exetendcommand, file not found...
W: failed to mount /dev/block/mmcblk1p25 (Invalid argument)
As I see that in the system there are others blocks with similar names (screenshots in post #4), I was wondering if this might be related to the problem I'm dealing with (loosing settings after reboot).
I see some people had problems with this block/partition, for instance in this post - Issue with /dev/block/mmcblk1p25, but I couldn't figure out how they fixed.
Any help is much appreciated.
Hi fbugnon,
I have the same problem on my Defy. I've tried to use 2 differents builds from wdscript.fr (120613 and 120610), installed baseband switcher, but the problem is the same as yours.
Everytime the phone restarts, it resets all settings.
I'm trying to use a build from quarx (quarx2k.ru, build 120305) now, let's see if that helps.
I'll keep you updated.
Hi tiagomelo,
I've tried many differents ROMs but no one was able to change this behavior. I'm not sure, but I believe the problem is related to the partition error mentioned on my last post -- do you also have the same problem?
I was forced, eventually, to do a full SBF with Tim's original system so that I could use my phone and now I'm using CM 7.2 rc3.... Waiting for ICS to solve the calendar sync bug which is crucial for my work and then I'm back on.
Wish you good luck! And please keep us posted, I would like to know where this will lead you to.
Cheers

What ROM are you using? Your build version. And is the problem exactly as described in OP, then I see that its been resolved.
A bit same like yours
Guys i dont know if if i can help you over here but i was some issues with the call/data/3g ... for me as soon as i tried using them they froze completely, not the phone but the signals .. its was related to my baseband settings and stuff,
so i found a solution for this ...
go into recovery cpu settings,
Status: enable
Enable all modules
Scaling: Conservative
dont forget to save at bottom and reboot
if these settings worked for you then it should be alright
This is just a suggestion to the issue .. u can try it .. I don't know if it is %100...
for me it works

That's a different thing. The reason for your freeze would be something with your CPU/chipset.
Good to see someone who is familiar with this issue of mine ..
so would u b able to tell me why i was having this problem with the chipset/cpu related to calls and data download ...
i know its not the right thread but i tried other thread but no answers yet
i came across this solution after a lot of seaching .. trial n error
u dont know what i've been through ... but using this settings doesnt give me good downloading speed in google play though

Hi Ajitnegi,
As mentioned before, the only solution I could find to this problem was restoring the orignal ROM (Motorola's) by doing what they call a full SBF (you can read a bit about sbf in here or in posts on this forum).
Sorry not being able to help any further. Good luck.
Cheers.
Same problem | No network connection
Hi
I am also facing the same problem, no network connection. After going through this post where you had asked to change the baseband settings to the country specific, I did change it. Unfortunately, even after changing the baseband settings, after reboot it changes to default value (.i.e. Central Europe).
While going through this forum, I could not find any final settings provided by the developer, did you get any ? If so, can you point out to it.
Thanks,
Nash

Hi Ajitnegi
I don't know if this is the only way to fix it, but In order to recover MY phone I had to flash a full SBF, which is -- as I understand -- basically a Motorola Recovery that works pretty much like a factory reset. Search the forum and I'm sure you'll find someone explaining how to do it.
Or if you rather take some time to better understand what's going on with your phone before you start flashing it, you might want to take a look at this excellent "All-in-one Defy Beginner's Guide".
Cheers
i have the same issue, i have No Network and No Wifi

Help please .

Lost functionality - unable to register - no wifi

Hello, I have a B5510, and had managed to root and install link2sd to free up some space on my internal memory even though I had reduced the phone's applications to the "basic essential".
I noticed that even by moving apps with link2sd, the free internal space was not increasing and was getting an error with the dalvik-cache. I tried to move the dalvik-cache to the sdext2 partition since that is where link2sd was looking for it, however accidentally removed it. Unfortunately with it I must have removed also the links to the apps on the sd card and was left with only a handful of useless applications.
After trying to find a solution for that, it seemed that the only option I had was to do a factory reset, which I did. Despite having regained access of the google market application, I am unable to log onto the internet / wifi, and register my samsung phone. The phone seems to be continuously on standby at "obtaining ip address...". If I try to set a static ip, it seems like the device is connected to the wifi but it actually isn't, or at least, I can't register it to find out since my only application with access to the internet is google market.
I don't know whether the loss of functionality is due to having removed the dalvik-cache or some samsung related applications like samsung apps. In any, I wish I could find a way to restore my phone to what it was before. I thought that maybe I could flash cyanogenmod but didn't find a version for my phone. However I really don't wish to remove the stock OS and would like to restore it as is. Do you guys have any suggestions, experiences, or any helpful advice? I really don't know what to do. I asked for help to samsung but I don't know whether they'll help since the device is rooted.

My suggestion would be to use Odin to flash your original firmware onto your handset as per this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678568
If you cannot find the correct firmware in that thread (most likely as the files have not been converted it seems...huh!) then post in this thread and ask Doky73 very very nicely to convert the firmware files for you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678568
You will need to know what firmware you are currently running - you can probably check yourself on sammobile to see if that is available, once you know the stock for your phone you can search google - it may already be out there converted and ready to go!
Once that is flashed delete everything off the SD card and format and repartition it again then start afresh - good luck! :good:

Hello stokey and thanks for your quick suggestion! I've been looking all over the website trying to understand and apparently the best solution would be to flash the firmware with odin 1.85.
I've found the details of my firmware being the Italy version:
Code:
HIDSWVER B5510XXLF3/B5510ITVLF1/B5510XILE1/B5510XXLF3
ANDROIDVERSION 2.3.6
BASEBANDVERSION B5510XILE1
KERNELVERSION 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #103
BUILDNUMBER GINGERBREAD.XXLF3
and it seems I also found a download from sampro.pl
I'm hoping this goes well because it seems like I've only managed to take the situation from bad to worse so far! If you have any experience with odin, do you believe the phone (wifi especially) should work correctly after flashing?

GPS on N9005 solution that worked for me!

...hello friends...I am writing this for all of you people that have a problem with GPS signal on your beloved Note 3 N9005...
...when I received my Note 3 for 4G LTE network, I didn't know that I will have any problems with GPS signal...although there is no LTE network in my country yet, there should not be a problem with GPS signal...so I have searched a little bit and found application that was the solution for my problem...
...anyway...let's start...I just want to say "Thanks" to the developers of the application...crypted and Zatta :good:
Please follow link bellow to download application...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198319
I did the following things in order to fix GPS signal...
1) You need to have rooted phone - there are plenty of links on the xda, I done my rooting from this link without any problems... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
2) Download TopNTP 1.0.4 application from the link provided
3) Place the application on your external SD card
4) Before instalation go to /system folder on your internal memory and mount rw for that folder manualy - you can do it by installing for example total commander app from the google market it is free...then go to buttons and create button with internal command, 119 Remount...it will create button that can be used for mounting rw partition...or you can use root explorer...
5) Install TopNTP application
6) Reboot your phone
7) Start application and go with already default settings...click on Install button
8) Save and reboot again
9) Try your GPS now...
10) If this is not working try with settings for your country and put General insetead of Derek Gordon's server, save and again reebot
THAT'S IT FOLKS!!!
There will be stored one backup file of your gps.conf file, don't delete anything...
I hope it will help your device to work as it should...maybe this will help someone...also...there is a full description of application and changelog for older versions...so check it if you want...
Thank you all...Cheers!!! :highfive:

1) Their program is still buggy - both for me and for you (your two files are the same) the program failed to replace /system/etc/gps.conf with their configuration that is somewhere in /data/data/by.zatta.agps/files I have also attached a (slightly modified) file that was there for me.
2) I have manually forced that file over /system/etc/gps.conf (with Total Commander - I think I am a registered user of the PC Total Commander for like 15 years now :good and I am going to test more tomorrow but to be honest the tests so far show that things are definitely not getting better with their TopNTP program on N9005

No, the (otherwise perfectly normal Linux) device driver does not read the configuration from /data/data/by.zatta.agps/files, you are using the same gps.conf as you did before (and just like everybody else you get it from /system/etc) but since there are so many factors involved the placebo effect has completely mixed your findings.
If you want to test the other configuration go on your phone to /data/data/by.zatta.agps/files and copy that one over original gps.conf (Total Commander will tell you about remounting RW) and then reboot. Test it on average at least a week and see if things are clearly different than now.
In my phone it is increasingly clear that there is certainly no improvement.

Manually editing?
Hi there,
Indeed, TopNTP is'nt changing/editing the file gps.conf in my phone either.
Has anyone tried editing it manually with the lines TopNTP suggests?
Would that be possible at all? Or is there some checksum that won't cooperate?

I did find the file yesterday and copied it to \etc.
Didn't really help
I solved my problem by tightening the screws in the back of the phone around the gps area (left of camera when looking at the back) they where a little loose ever since then it's worked perfectly

Already tried that. I even opened the back side completely to check for the pins contact.
My phone works perfectly in other countries. It's just here at home that doesn't.
It did work perfectly until I upgraded to KitKat
...update to the old post...
...Hello to all people on xda forum...
...I just want to add one update to my post for all guys that still have problems with GPS and didn't solve the issue...here is a solution...I hope you will hit thanks button
...this is only for those people which have strange problem when gps hardware works, for example you can update your weather on weather widget, but somehow you can't catch any satellites when you want to find your way in the city...then problem is definitely could be fixed...I did it with several N9005 devices and always was successful...
The real credit goes to @SchecterRocker, where he posted how he solved the issue...actually you can follow his post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729322&nocache=1 THANK YOU MAN!!! :good:
First, as optional is to update your modem and bootloader according to your baseband.
Second, retrieve your default gps.conf file. Now you can go with tearing apart your device...just follow instructions that @SchecterRocker posted...or you can follow it here...ADAPTED LITTLE BIT
[[ INSTRUCTIONS ]] (See attached pics for details)
1. Remove the back cover, battery, stylus, SIM, and microSD.
2. Remove the 12 Phillips screws on the back.
3. Carefully remove the inner plastic shell (clipped in).
4. Take your time!!! DO NOT HURRY!!! Gently open around the edges until all edges and clips are loose ( you can use guitar pick ).
5. Observe the leaf pin locations shown below. photo01.jpg
6. This leaf is clearly related to the GPS, because bending it back restored my GPS to perfect functionality. TRUE!
7. Extra Carefully!!!! bend the leaf pin back into position, if you find a dislocated leaf pin. photo02.jpg
8. ALSO CHECK THE REST OF LEAFS!!! Replace the inner plastic shell, making sure to not damage the leaf pins.
9. Replace the 12 screws.
10. Replace the SIM, microSD, stylus, and back cover. START THE MACHINE!!! ...working isn't it???
Cheers!!! :highfive:
THANK YOU @SchecterRocker (hope you won't blame me for using your photos and instructions) AND @xda-developers

[script]Remove password/fingerprint lock

Hi all,
I made this small update script because sometime when you try a rom and use a backup to restore the previous one the authentification get broken, so this script will just remove all locks and allow you to start your phone without any data lost.
I'm not responsible if something is going wrong.
Flash using any twrp will probably work.
great. will try
thanks!

well we can delete gatekeeper files manually from the TWRP file manager, and everything is fine, no data lost.
Great will try

Yep probably, but for most of people here it's safer to use a script than let them find the files manualy.
And maybe faster

you deserve compliment for your work , but it takes only one file to delete to remove passwords or lock. and its neither lengthy nor unsafe, i have seen your script, it deletes to many things.. which is not required i think. And your updater script has spelling mistakes too bro..
Does it also removes the mi account? Device locked because mi account think the device is stolen.

If its patternlock, then its gatekeeper.pattern.key, if its password then its gatekeeper.password.key, you can delete both.
Successful Using RX & Deletion of /data/validity/template.db
Doesn't work for me! Ran rx from recovery, wiped caches, & rebooted. Typed in backup password, unlocked (same as b4). Went to the Settings for fingerprint this time it constantly rejects any attempt saying too many incorrect pls wait. Prior it wouldn't take fingerprint or password.
Any suggestions for this?
PS: Would be nice to list what each file does /is for. I am also an advanced user...
After running This Rx use (root) X-plore/etc F. M. Then DELETE:
[*W/Rx SUCCESS*] /data/validity/template.db [*W/Rx SUCCESS*]
Reboot. Type in Previously Used BackUp Password. Go to Fingerprint Settings & setup new fingerprint & backup password!
[*MIA*] data/system/users/0/settings_fingerprint.xml [*MIA*] Could not find this file, so I assume not needed.
This was done on Stock Base Marshmallow ROM N915 (Note Edge).
BTW Thanks for RX & Could You Please add the above file to RX?

YT9213AJ Latest Firmware XYAUTO 6.5 API 27/Android 8.1 2020 + TWRP Magisk and Dolby

To avoid people getting frustrated I have decided to end this project on my side, follow this link to receive active updates from a guy that has time. Cheers https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-custom-mods-root-twrp-viper4android.4184999/
which is recommended? 6.0 rom or upgrade to 8.0?
Is it installable on a yt9216b 1/16 with firmware 8.1 go?
thx

I have had a massive headache getting this to all work but am glad to have found a solution, these units come shipped with a fake android 8.1 (some say 9.1) and are actually android 6.0, all XYAUTO builds from 3.0-3.4 will be android 6.0
DOWNLOAD LINK - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hLDcyTHxSvI6LzuV6D7C28-qhpYEMk-A/view?usp=sharing
This update is real android 8.1 even though it comes up as 9.1 after you install it
The update fixes a number of things, the volume glitch between 17 and 18, and the fader on some models, if your one doesn't have an audio processor chip the fader will not work, more info here https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=985184
It also includes a theme chooser.
This 7.zip contains a computer only flash with TWRP recovery already included
-- Instructions --
Copy all files from "Needed" folder to a USB
Unzip firmware and flashtool
Use flashtool to flash firmware - Open scatter file - Select "Format + Download" From drop down menu
Hit download, connect USB A TO A Cable, then power on the device and let it flash, should come up OK
-- Bootloader Check --
Car Settings - Android Settings - Go to Settings - Scroll down to System - About Car
Tap Build Number to enable developer mode - Back
Developer options - OEM Unlocking - Make sure this is Enabled
-- Gain Root and install ViPER4Android FX/Dolby --
Plug in your USB Stick
Open file manager and open USB Drive
Install Android Terminal Emulator
type in: Reboot Recovery - Enter
Change Language to English, *tip* the option is настройки then globe on the top right
Install - Select Storage - Usb OTG
** In this Order **
Select Magisk-v20.4.zip
Add zip
Select ViPER4Android_2.5.0.5.zip
Add zip
Select WICKED BEATS.zip
Add zip
Select Busybox-1.29.0-YDS-UNIVERSAL.zip
Add zip
Select Dolby-Oreo.zip (Only if you want it, NOTE will replace the built in eq so the one in settings won't display)
Swipe to install
Go back
Select Wipe - Factory Reset
Reboot ** Dont install TWRP updater app this is a custom recovery and the only one you will ever get **
Connect to WIFI
Install MagiskManager and perform the additional setup when it loads
After reboot, open MagiskManager and make sure Magisk is detected if not power off/on device and check
again, boot back into recovery and reinstall Magisk zip if it's still not working after that set OEM Unlocking to disabled in Developer options, reboot and recheck, this glitch is to do with the bootloader not enabling magisk. Once you have ViPER4Android installed even if this does decide to intermittantly not enable root in the future the FX will still work as it only needs root access to install the driver initially.
Open viPER4Android FX, turn on master power and check driver status, should be working.
-- Set up side buttons --
Car Settings - Factory Settings - 8888 - Touch Settings
In this order
Start
Power - Power Button
Home - Home Button
Back - Back Button
Voladd - Vol+
Voldec - Vol-
Close - Ok

Thank you for sharing good instruction.
One question for you. Are your fader and equalizer working properly? Mines aren't. However, for Equalizer, Dolby could be a good alternative but for fader, there is no alternative in my knowledge. Any idea?

Hey mate, The fader won't work if the DSP chip is missing from the board, also once you install dolby the right left front and rear fader stop working as it replaces the audio eq, I'm trying to find a solution to this at the moment but without that chip I doubt it.

The 6.0 rom here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ecovery-custom-mod-root-twrp-viperfx.4184999/ is faster, but you can only use viper fx, the 8.1 one I have posted is slightly slower due to the android revision and allows you to use dolby.

No, but you can download the firmware here http://file.xygala.com/?dir=uploads/XY公版/9216/9216B/Android9.1/外文/横屏/ user/pass is xyauto:123456 extract it, then copy the preloader.bin and recovery.img from my archive over to this folder and flash it following the same instructions above. Just check what display size you have first under car settings and download the right one cheers.
Thank you for your reply and kind pictures. I confirmed mine doesn't have a DSP.. Haven't expected a car stereo without fader.. Anyway, problem solved.
My unit looks exactly like this but the number on mine is YT9213A without the last 'J'. Do you know if this would work on my unit? Any clue what difference the final J makes?

Hey man you will be after the same one as buffaloquinn above, just unzip the rom and overwrite the preloader.bin and recovery.img from my image before you flash so you get twrp

Hi,
Thank you very much for the post. I have tried to install it by downloading the file for Y9216B and when I try to flash it by choosing the scatter file it always gives me an error and says that it is invalid. What could be the problem?
Thank you

Chinese characters in the directory name, just rename it to firmware or something and the scatter file should work
Hello, and happy new year to all. i have a car Ownice k1 1GB ram 16GB disk, can you upgrade with your rom? I attach photos
Not having any luck here. Reseting or rebooting (including from completely disconnected from power unit) never seems to recognize my computer connected via USB cable. (Checked with both USB ports as well)
Is there some trick to getting the unit into download mode?
