Maybe it's because I just came from a G1 and don't have any widgets other than the weather application and Handcent, but I have been online, texting, and calling all day since 12:30pm CST and I'm still in the "green" on my phone and it's 3:11am CST here.

PS.. I am a T-Mobile user so not sure if this issue is related only to AT&T but this phone ROCKS!
Not everyone has a battery life problem, there is a poll about it somewhere... I find it fine.
Not a problem anymore, I got used to recharge three times a day
People with battery problems are in the minority. They just complain over and over in order for their voice to heard so it seems like a lot more people have the problem than is true. If battery runs low get a spare to make sure it lasts all day.
Watch, you can hear some of them coming right now to say the sky is falling, I am wrong, and how most people have battery issues...
Some people expect their phone to run games/video/navigation/sync/whatever 24/7 on battery and hold the charge for at least 24 hours. They don't even bother to check the reasons for fast drain (if they have it), and think the phone battery has a flux capacitor inside it. Then, when their hopes aren't fulfilled, they cry in every possible thread on the internet. That's how a wrong impression is made.
Personally, no complaints. Running undervolted kernel, so I have some help with battery life, but still, for the same usage as my old WinMo phone with a battery 1.5 times the size and screen 1/2 the size, Nexus works longer.
Battery life is fine here....and I have 2 spare batteries that stay charged in my fridge (read the article about Li-Ion batteries if you wanna know why I keep them in my fridge - that and if I've been pushing the phone hard and it's really warm, it creates a built-in heat sink when I swap batteries)
I sometimes find my phone draining fast but then stop and think about it and usually I remember some mad wifi browsing, movie watching or gaming I did earlier in the day. I think people too quickly forget about how they've used the device and cry when it's running down.
I have the overclock/undervoltage kernel and with SetCPU to ramp down to 245 on standby, it seems to last ages if I can keep my grubby hands from playing with it all day
Battery life is great for me. And most people in the latest battery life thread aren't upset with what they get. But I am always interested in improving it. And the latest technique posted here does wonders. I expect to get at least 2 days of battery now. It really helps the idle battery usage. Overnight last night my phone only used 6%.
i only have a weather app running along with my gmail 2 accounts and google talk. i am connected to wifi. my battery does drain and needs to be charged at least 1 time per day because if i dont charge it the phone will be dead in the monring. i am testing the network as people say its helping then going to see if the wifi is killing me. i dont see why it MUST be charged daily when it doesnt have much use besides a few messeges and very little calls.
i dont know about other people complaing just because but it is a problem for me and swaping betteries just to send a few messages is out of the question. with all this technology i still have to carry around an extra battery to use it? i think not. im sure it has something to do with the networks on my end.

Well for what it's worth, it is now 2:36pm CST and I'm stilllllllllllll going! Going to wait until it dies completely and then charge it up fully.
It all depends on what they had previously for a phone. People who went from a dumb phone that lasted for a week on standby and more likely 3 days with regular use will get all sorts of uppity. With smart phones, it turned into getting it charged overnight as the norm, at least it was with the last two WinMo iterations I had before getting the N1. The theory goes that it should be the same with the N1 but consider exactly how much more you actually do with an N1 vs WinMo.
The battery life is comparable with the iphone if not just a bit worse due to the N1's ability to actually multitask. Ask any iphone user and I'll bet there's the ever so spiffy tiny little wall charger handy or readily available.
If you go the route of CM and a UV'd kernel as well as making sure you're not searching constantly for any cell network(ie: get off WCDMA Preferred), then you can realistically get back to that charge only overnight routine.
Everyone's mileage will vary on this one. Adapt to what YOUR standard use is and move on. If that's not good enough, then seek out the services of fleabay and Craigslist to recoup your losses and go back to a dumb phone.
So I got my G2 yesterday at about 4:30. I LOVE it, absolutely (a bit of a weak hinge, and I had a random reboot and trouble starting WiFi at first, but it's seriously fantastic). But I'm having problems with the battery. At the store the guy turned it on and handed it to me, and I used it on the way home to the point that, by about 1.5 or 2 hours after turning it on the first time, it was at about 15% battery. So I started charging it, and then read an article online that it should be discharged, so I unplugged it after it went up about 4 or 5% in battery life to 16% and used it a bit more to drain it all the way. Then I read a different one saying you should never discharge it because it's Lithium Ion, and so I turned it off until I could get to the charger and then charged it and left it charging until I woke up at 6. Then I unplugged it, used it for about 20 minutes in the morning, and turned it off. I turned it back on at 3 today, used it mildly (Angry Birds, an emulator, and the camera, but couldn't get data access except very intermittent EDGE, no Wifi or GPS enabled) until 4:10, and noticed that it was at 65% battery life. The screen is on automatic brightness, and I have animations and a live background, but those are my only concessions. It said 45% of battery use was Android and that was the highest thing, I think display was only second or third (unlike my parents' Vibrants where it's like 66% display).
So that's 1.5 hours for a third of the battery, with moderate usage (I would argue that no data or GPS or wifi or internet usage at all is very moderate). So, on average, I could expect to get 4.5 hours of battery life? At one point it went from 55m unplugged to 1:07 unplugged and the battery went down about 10%. That's worse than my parents' Vibrants, and they say they didn't do anything to train their battery--and I've seen reports, especially on here, of people getting 10 or more hours of use with more usage than I had. I know you train Android and not the battery, but still, I have seen SUCH conflicting information on this that I don't even think it'd be helpful to search anymore (and trust me, I have). So does anyone know about this, definitively? Does the battery life get better after I charge it and discharge it for several days? Should I let it go down to a full discharge or keep it above 35-40%? Does it harm it to keep it plugged in after it finishes charging, or does it have a thing to stop charging the battery and just run off AC once it reaches 100%? Is it too late to train my battery now? Are there any official or reliable large-capacity ones for the G2, like a 1750 mAh?

Don't trust the battery meter. Fully charge your phone up, and it runs for forever. I've gone days where I unplugged it at 7:30 AM, and didn't plug it back in until 5:30 AM, and the battery was still above 20%. That was a day of fairly light usage, so that's not necessarily typical; with my normal usage (which is somewhat heavy), it's at about 30% by the time I plug it in at around 10:00 PM. The only time this isn't true is when I go for hours on an Angry Birds marathon :S
I have noticed on all my android phones that the first couple charges seem to drop much faster and each subsequent charge seems to get better. I run mine all day with push work email and vibrate all day and am upset when it is below 65% at 10PM and I unplug it at 7:30 am each day.
But did you guys do the same thing I did (15% then charge overnight) and then get around the same life, on your first day? Is it likely my short charge the first time did any damage? And are there any apps to provide a more accurate battery meter, preferably in place of the stock one?

I did nothing special. I put it on charge when I got it but did not do a full charge before leaving work and going home. Did a full charge that night.
I plug it in each night when I go to bed and it has been as high at 70% and as low as 30% depending on how much phone and data time I spent that day.
I unplugged mine today at 7:36am and at 4:06PM it is at 79%.
I use battery indicator from the market. It does not poll and only listens for the OS battery change broadcast so it does not use up battery by running. Some poll and as such use battery to report.
The general thing about Lithium Batteries is that a full discharge is bad if the voltage level goes below a certain point to where the onboard circuits will disable that battery permanently. Most of the time the boards only do that if it's left discharged for a long time I believe, correct me if I'm wrong here.
Ideally, you're not supposed to turn on the phone when you got it. You were supposed to charge it till green and then you could use it, but I'm pretty sure not everyone can resist the temptation to turn on such an awesome phone . The battery life will blow the first week of use. I don't know why, but it just does; you'd have to break in that battery. Then the general rule I follow is to perform a full discharge once a month and then do a full recharge.
I also placed my phone on GSM AUTO PRL but for doing that I just exchanged some low 3G signal threshold for Edge; the extra battery life I got though is just that much more useful to me. Using WCDMA Preferred, the phone just wasted so much
To answer your questions, my experiences with the N1, Vibrant, and G2... battery life just blows in the beginning but gets better with use. The first charge you did shouldn't have damaged the battery but I think you may have wasted 2 of the possible 400-500 cycles that battery is capable of doing what you did. Finally, I use BatteryTime by Motalen for the status bar battery indicator which shows the % left.
Yeah, it just sucks because the guy at the store literally put my SIM card in and then turned it on and handed it to me. I probably wouldn't have turned it on until it had charged if he hadn't, or at least I like to think so.
So it's good to do the discharge thing once a month, and probably not bad for the battery to let it dip down as long as I don't prolong it too much? And I'm okay to just charge it and use it during the day, basically, from now on?
Does battstat poll the battery or just listen?

Nonsense. The battery runs down fast the first week because you got a new toy and you can't help playing with it all the time. After a while the novelty wears off and you use it a lot less. The battery doesnt just magically get better

See but if that's true then I can only expect 4.5-5 hours of battery life which is not what the G2's supposed to get. Which means either I DID mess up my battery instead of just running through some cycles, or I have a bad one, but not horribly bad, just for some reason only like 60% as good as everyone else's. I do agree about the novelty thing (it's my first smartphone), but understand I was not really doing all that much when I drained my battery like I said. Not nearly as much as it should take.

I'm hoping that's the case. I remember receiving my N1 and I got to relive my childhood days for 12 straight hours. Regardless it's pretty sad to say that I leave my G2 at home while at work and it's down from 100% to ~60% with Wifi on (and with it staying on in the advanced settings) and GSM Auto PRL; I work a 8 hours shift. I left my N1 at home to mess with my G2 at work and my N1 went from 100% to ~80%.
Those 100 extra milliamphrs shouldn't do that much of a difference. Not to mention the N1 is slower and on a 65nm process. Did I also mention that both my G2 and N1 run the same services and 3G is also disabled on my G2 since I don't have my new SIM activated yet? Also, Latitude is always on for my N1.
It's just my experience though. I'll give this a good thorough test when I get the time. That or pony up for an extended battery.
On the other hand, my wife's GalaS is doing just fine in terms of battery life. Matching my N1 with the same settings and services.
I have been letting a couple of days go by to see how the battery is and I have got to say that I am highly not impressed. I love the phone and even like Blur but the battery is really a let down. I know that the first day or so that I use the phone heavily because of course.. ITS NEW. But today I have been real busy at work and have maybe text a few people, made 2 calls, and looked up a number using google maps and my battery is now down to 60%. In battery manager, it says 5h 2m 25s since unplugged which would be me taking the phone off the charger this morning and heading to work. Other stats are:
Display 35% 29m 52s
Phone Idle 26% 4h 32m 47s
Voice Calls 24% 6m 45s
Cell Standby 11% 5h 4m 5s
Wi-Fi 6% 1h 51m 56s
From looking at these battery stats and usage, does it even seem correct to be at 60% battery? This is at the least very minimal usage for a phone.
Yet another battery thread... One thing before people start complaining: don't estimate battery life based on battery gauge! Complain once the battery is dead and you HAVE to charge. That's the real mileage you'll get from your battery (and give it a few days to calibrate). The gauge is not a good indicator.
I am a new Atrix user too and so far the battery life is 12hrs or less. Maybe that is not impressive. Coming from the N1, its alright in my book.
I do want to say to everyone complaining about the battery life:
It can take a week or more for the battery to settle into the routine and perform to its maximum ability. Lets start the conversation again later next week on where our battery is at.
Yesterday I got 13 hrs between unplugging the phone, and getting the 15% warning. Not all that bad. Not great, but definitely could be worse.
mine has yet to drop below 30% and im pretty much browsing the web and texting all day. I dont care what kind of phone you have but making voice calls and playing games/watching videos kills battery with a quickness no matter how big a battery you have. . The atrix in my personal usage is just as good as my ip4 was.

Have the Atrix and Epic 4G and the Atrix lasts easily twice as long as the Epic.
I have to keep he Epic pluged in for my hour comute with pandora, just to make sure I have enough battery to make it for the trip home. Normal usage during the day with brightness all the way down, wifi off, BT off, sync On.
Had the Atrix today (day one after full night charge, unpluged at 6:30a), kept BT On, WiFi On, Brightness 100%, Sync On, Exchange Sync On, Auto off/standby set to 15 minutes, Pandora on via BT for my hour trip (unpluged), forest Live Background, Weather Widget etc.,downloaded everyting I could think of/find, constant e-mail, and constant "whatsApp" till noon (lunch), wache YouTube Videos for my whole hour lunch (still full bright mind you). Created 10 minute Install Video with 720p for work, then uploaded via WiFi, not USB. More Texing, Calls and Downloads. .... FINALLY haed to plug it in at 2:30p, with 5% battery left, I think I could have made it till 3 for sure.
That's a full 8 hours of NonStop Use of everything. I expect to get Morning-Night life from normal usage.
Final word. Test it first. I did and it's Great, not just good. The receiving end of all my texts and e-mail blasting and video look ups has an iPhone. He had to charge his at 2:30 too, but has his iPhone set to max battery save (brightness 15%, wifi off, sync off, etc.) But was using as intensly as I was

may be you have several internet connected background service running behind the scene?
My attitude towards the battery is a mixed bag.
1) PRO: It blows away the battery for the Eris (which I'm coming from)
2) CON: As these phones come to be computers with phone capability, it's really time for manufacturers to try their hardest for better batteries. I'd eagerly accept a phone twice as thick as this one if it meant double the battery life.
I find mine is only good for 10 hours (much less with heavy usage, but low calling time). I expected more.

I really call bull on this.
Coming from the world of Airsoft, I'm no stranger to battery performance.
Most of these performance myths are hold overs from the Ni-Cad days and don't apply to modern batteries.
Call Bull all you want. But it was true to the N1 and so far its been true to my battery. It does not last the first few days and gets better after a few charge cycles.
Frankly, everyone believes whatever they want on batteries. I for one take it as a user by user experience. I watch my battery life a lot, but I also like to have Google Reader and Google Listen syncing.
I'm at 30% right now and 12 hours unplugged. What I wouldcall moderate use. Its not as good as my captivate on custom rom / kernel but its far from bad enough.for me to complain about

Andriod sucks the battery, bigger battery on Atrix didn't help much. Google need to optimize the OS for better battery management. I am disappointed coming from Samsung Focus & iPhone 4, both have superior battery life. BTW, I am on Day#4, conditioning the battery didn't help any so far..

Looking at all the comments - I would say the Atrix is within range -- I knew when I saw the 1950 mAh (or whatever the exact spec) that the tegra processor must really be a power hog -- the new processor, along with the huge screen is going to draw a lot of power. Comparing to other phones with single core processors and screens even 20% smaller is not reasonable.
Definitely a good point... going to be interesting to see how well other dual core are going to hold up. That will be a better comparison.
Is that battery really a 1930mAH? The size looks like any 1500mAH battery isn't it?
I managed to get close to 16 hours of 'normal' use, meaning I wasn't trying to drain it, nor was I trying to conserve battery. I took the phone off the charger at 3pm and made it all the way to 2pm the following day with about 20% left. That's 23 hours, but I subtracted out the time the phone was on while I was asleep, 8 hours (nighttime mode).
Hmm hearing all these replies i believe i have a defective battery. I unplugged mine today at 5:15AM and now it's 2:18PM and it's just gave me the 15% beep. I've sent about 25 texts and played some words with friends. I've got watchdog installed and no apps seem to be out of control. I'm wondering if a factory reset would fix the issue or if i should return it.

try going to your dialer and entering *#*#INFO#*#*
Look under the battery usage and check the different items. Is anything using a significant amount? it could be a rogue app.
I will say MotoBlur has a lot running in the background. About twice as much as vanilla android.
I have turned most of this off and I do know that is helping my battery life.

Turning this off and that off, not using this app or that app. Dreaded enemy "wake locks". Turning brightness down and generally Not using all these great devices have to offer to squeeze out more battery life. Even to the extent of over 24 hours.
We have a phenomenal and powerful device that does a whole lot with a huge screen and a ton of great BG apps updating all kinds of information we enjoy these devices for.
MOST of all we all have the (getting rare) opportunity to swap out an inexpensive battery in less than 30 seconds be up and running for another 5-10 hours depending on our enjoyment and use.
Do people not have electricity? They cannot charge every night? They can afford a $600 phone (or $300 subsidized) and $600 plus a year for service but cannot buy a $20 battery in order to actually USE the device as designed and go through all kinds of contortions, apps, settings, and worse, anguish at running out of juice after (gasp) 8 hours?
People getting hung up on "benchmarking" and posting screen shots of phones on battery for 3 days...(of course rarely used) to squeeze and extra 30 minutes.
TURN IT OFF!! bet the battery lasts well over a month. You win!
I guess I just don't understand the "issue" with a device where batteries can be swapped out so easily.
I get maybe 10 hours normally with everything on and at minimum updating. I have infinite screen on and turn it off when I am done using it. (hate those timeouts while reading something). FB and news updates at minimum. Maps always running latitude. If its there its on BT, Screen rotation, GPS, I just don't worry about battery life as I would rather carry an extra battery in my desk at home auto or work and in my wallet than not USE the device as designed.
Personally I would never buy another phone without the ability to swap out a battery lest I would gain have to "ration" my use of such a great device which would be akin to a witnessing a gay man win a date with a single and seductive Angela Jolie . Why bother?
Am I alone here? Anyone else consider battery life as much a non issue as I do on these Samsung phones?

A lot of the battery life threads are related to abnormally high battery drain.
As an example, on GB I would about 1% battery per hour if the phone was idle.
When I upgraded to LPY, I was losing 2-3% per hour, and sometimes higher, because the phone was not going into deep sleep.
This might not seem much of a difference for just 1 hour, but over the course of a day, it is a huge difference.
Now I'm on LPF, my battery drain is about the same, or lower than GB when idle.

I guess "abnormally high" is debatable. For me it would be a 80% battery crapping out before then end of a 2 hour movie.
A day is only 24 hours long and I assume people will sleep for 6-8 hours so Even a 5% drain per hour would mean more than 16 hours of standby with 20% remaining!! How can that be an issue? I doubt my phone "deep sleeps" I have BG apps running all the time with notifications. One extra battery solves all issues. No need for special apps, tweaking this and that, flashing this and that simply for battery life.
If people sleep 6-8 hours during a 24 hour period they can easily and consistently charge their batteries. A 3% drain per hour would not be an issue. If we watch movies and play games we already know the battery will drain within a few hours. Pop in another battery and brand new again.
You are assuming that people are always near a power source.
I am normally near a power source. I am either at work and charge via USB or in my car or at home.
The issue is the past 3 days I was out and about (malls, hotels, restaurants and so on) and was not near a power source for more than 10 minutes. My battery died in about 4 hours of usage. Mostly checking email, instagram and facebook.
I keep my brightness at full strength by the way (unless if the lights are off in bed).

If you work for Samsung can you help me to get my GB battery life back? I have already spend good money for the phone, I am not willing to spend a dime extra for another battery on 6 months old phone.
If your phone is working as intended, battery life issues are not really an issue.
It basically means your phone sleeps when its supposed to.
However, some devices never go into deep sleep due to some issue with kernel or a rogue app. Thats where the battery problem comes in.

Thats not normal.
I turn off data and wifi on my Note when I go to sleep (6 hours also) and I loose about 5 to 10 %.
This is with telephone signal only. No data or wifi.
to the post #7. So how come it didn't happened in stock GB previously? In GB I lost about 1 % overnight when in airplane mode. Reliability of batteries on this phone is a big deal, unfortunatelly.
Battery is always an issue. Nobody likes running to the charger every 3 hours. They want to charge and preferably when we are not using it, when we sleep.
So yes, it does not comply with expectatoin with continuous use. So yes its an issue. At least for me
Next to this having the enduser juggle with what wakelocks are or other battery eaters are dont help much. That counts for all smart phones.

There is also the issue about well behaved v badly behaved apps. I've installed apps and my battery life has plummeted, normally due to the app writing tons to the system log as it doesn't run well on my device.
In that situation it's nice to know the phone generally isn't sucking masses of juice itself so you aren't caught out and about with no battery left.
As the OP says, I guess I could carry a spare battery, but I could also carry a spare phone (my old Nokia 6310 used to last weeks on a charge) - and I don't want to do either. I want the battery on my phone to survive general use and still be able to be used for calls if needed. For me, it's not about €20\$20 for a battery, it's about the hassle of having to carry another thing around with me all the time and make sure I'd remembered to charge the damned thing when I actually needed it.
Personally, I use my phone like a tablet and as a phone and generally get 1-2 days out of it no problem. That said there are definitely some battery drain issues with the official German ICS build and it's worth protecting yourself against unnecessary drain if possible.

And there is your only problem.........it's not "airplane" mode while you sleep. You could charge while you sleep. Again problem solved.

I am normally near a power source. I am either at work and charge via USB or in my car or at home.
The issue is the past 3 days I was out and about (malls, hotels, restaurants and so on) and was not near a power source for more than 10 minutes. My battery died in about 4 hours of usage. Mostly checking email, instagram and facebook.
I keep my brightness at full strength by the way (unless if the lights are off in bed).

I happen to believe it's asking far to much of a device once used only as a phone and now as a notebook computer, music player, movie player,gaming platform, big screen, GPS, on and on to be able to operate without expecting batteries to wither within hours. I bought extra batteries so I can use all the functions without worry. There are performance issues people strive to enhance. I get that. But battery life is counter productive to enhancing performance.
I cannot understand all the teeth gnashing about battery life with all the options available Especially those of us who are power users. . not the least being charging while asleep. So many post battery loss while sleeping...... That's what chargers are for.

Sometimes. I go to music festivals where we camp for up to 5 days at a time. I may have access to a powerpoint for 30 mins a day, but not always. I carry spare batteries, but that doesn't mean I want my phone sucking my battery like crazy.
When travelling around, I use my phone more often than normal (gmaps etc)... If I'm away from the hotel for 12 hours +, again, having decent battery life is not an unreasonable thing to want.
My Desire HD (yes I know, smaller screen, slower cpu), could pull over 30 hours out of a battery with conservative use (without turning the radios off).
I still wouldn't give up my Note, but having to recharge each time I get home is pretty annoying.

I find it funny that a post complaining about people complaining about battery life ends up with people's comments complaining about battery life!
Seriously, though, when those rogue apps steal my precious battery, I get annoyed. I paid for the damned thing, and I want to use it when I want to use it, not find it is half-drained.
I use it pretty normally, and charge it every day (new batteries are cheap). I carry a spare in my wallet too.
I sometimes spend four hours a working day on the phone, BT all day, plus an hour or two screen and WiFi on. If I have managed it OK (by killing battery stealing apps) I get about 50 to 60% left. If not, I can be down to 30% after that. That may not be enough for the rest of the day.
Why should it be a problem that people like to get a full day from one battery? It is not difficult, although you do need Root. Shame on Samsung that it is necessary, when it is clearly possible.

Lol I was seeking those who don't have issues. And was hoping for a discussion on how they deal with battery life without rationing or tweaking....not more complainers
It's a problem of unrealistic expectations.IMO When you look at the device it self and what it's capable of.
Yeah Samsung could have put a larger battery and fatter back on the phone but people would complain about that. Those solutions are available for power users as well. I think we are lucky to have a device where we have options to solve a basic issue other than not using functions. Apple and HTC do not have the same luxury.

I'm a light user with the occasional call and sms and my battery last ~6 days. Phone is 3 moths old. However, I find that my battery usage is very dependent on signal strength. I usually get 4 bars and when that happens battery drains like 10% a day and when it is down to 1-2 bars then it can be 3 times that. I guess I'm fortunate that I get 4 bars most of the time in the office and at home.
I have a battery monitor widget installed and I must say that it makes me paranoid of using the phone and causing high drain. May uninstall it soon and use the phone as it should be used.
My expectations are pretty much met when it comes to battery life of the Galaxy Note. It lasts a whole working day. That's all I need. And for exceptional situations when I don't have access to a socket I have got a spare battery.
It's clear that the Note drains the battery really fast if it's in use. Just look at the screen . I also agree that it's annoying if the battery is empty after only 1/2 working day. But some people really have to blame themselves. If you don't turn off Wifi, Bluetooth and GPS when they are not needed it's no miracle that the battery is empty in no time. If you constantly check Facebook, Twitter and the like you have to accept that battery life will be significantly shorter.
For me the worst things are Bluetooth headsets. Not only is it annoying to have one more device that has to be charged but it also constantly drains the battery of the phone. Ok those wireless headsets are comfortable but you pay for it by faster battery drain.

the different opinions about the battery issue are resulting from the different way of using the phone along with the life style.
Some may need a bckp bat. Some can make sure they are always close to a power source ( if people spend a substantial part of the day in cars f.e.) Some even need an additional external power pack, as they are not close to power outlets all day.
That all makes sense to me but doesn't make me switching off all the nice features of that great phone. It is not an a piece for exhibition in a shopping window, it is for my personal use for business and/or leisure activities. It even connects me via video when I am far away from home, it connects me to the social networks and it let me professionally do my work and up or download all info I need from my corporation. I can log in via VPN to my workplace and edit documents by collaborating with colleagues through the cloud. It shows me the way through the GPS, if I need.
It entertains me in many different way if I want, It helps me to find a good restaurant.
I do not longer use a notebook computer or a tablet.
My Notebook computer could work hardly 2 hours with the same usage like my SGN.
So, I accept that this racing machine does need after some laps a pit stop for filling up the power.

These are the kinds of responses I was hoping people people would post rather than more whining about battery life. there are plenty of those threads already.
I was hoping for a POSITIVE thread people could read to calm their perceived issues with battery life. BTW I don't use BT head sets for Music. Yes another thing to deal with charging where you cannot simpy replace a battery. I prefer the far better quality wired earbuds.
No real life review thread on this one yet, so let's get the ball rolling on this. Any Telstra customers with their device have anything to say on this?

So, i'm gonna give it a go.
I am really satisfied with the battery life after three days of being a daily driver.
After my day of work it has 31% left with google assistant/now, 70% WiFi 30% LTE, Bluetooth always on, auto adjust brightness 3.56 hours display time, most of the time i used chrome.
No pics because i don't know to add them via mobile browser.
For now: much better than my old nex5 and OnePlusX.

I just got mine today and fully charged it and then synced my n5x, rebooted and it was down to 90%. Highly intensive processing so I'll not judge by that. Did some more setup, charged again. Phone call for about 30 min, down to 95%. Not bad but not great. It's way too early for me to make a determination as some here have been running it for 3 days with better results.
I'll either update this post or make a new one depending on traffic. Overnight will tell me a lot. I've been getting about 0.5% - 0.8% / hour drain overnight on my 5x so let's see how this one does. One thing I will say is that the phone is beautiful, great size, great feel. great display and quick as a bug. If the battery holds up it's a definite keeper for sure. If any of you have an iPhone 6 or 6s, put them side by side and I dare you to tell them apart. lol.

Google Play services battery drain. No unusual apps, pretty much out of the box because its getting replaced already due to screen issues. Not sure why...
I have really high android OS usage, but still get great battery life. 4 hours SOT, 16 hours usage. Will be interesting to see what i can get when I find the cause of this Android OS drain
Phone calls kill me but otherwise not looking too bad.

The phone lasts me the entire day, but by the end of the day its pretty close to dying out.
So not as good as my S7 Edge, or even close, however it's good enough.
I charge my phone every night, anyways, so doesn't really bother me.
I was less than impressed to be honest. I'll know more when I actually spend a few days with it out and in use.
I must not use my phone all that much. So far, extremely better battery than my iPhone 5s. I guess it is a doubling in mAh but also a bigger screen. I am happy with it so far.
Definitely doesn't charge to 70% in 15 minutes though like they bragged about.

Well they said "7 hours of use" from 15 minutes of charging, whatever the hell that means lol.
Coming from a Galaxy S6 Edge I am very happy with my battery life. Currently I'm at 1 day 5 hrs with 2 hrs 5 min phone calls and 1 hr 47 min of screentime with about an hour of music in there....right now I have 28% left. I typically use my phone for browsing the web, chatting, work email and facebook so all in all I'm very pleased.

They never said that. They said 7 hours of use in 15 minutes.
I'm actually pretty happy with it so far. I have the regular Pixel and in my few full days of normal usage I'm getting through the day pretty easily. 8AM - 11PM or so leaves me with about 10% left on the phone, and usually approx 4.5 hours of screen on time. This is especially impressive to me since this is with GPS ON, Bluetooth ON, mostly on LTE with only "ok" reception in my office, auto-brightness set half way, everything syncing, connected to my gear fit 2. That's definitely better than I got on the 5x and way better than I was getting on my last phone - the galaxy s7. I was getting maybe at most 3.5 hours screen on time with the S7, and that was with GPS OFF, brightness set to around 30% or as low as I could set it and still see clearly, and even with a ROM that included battery optimizations (and yes it did seem to provide slightly more battery than stock).
So this is great thus far. If I were going out late or something after work then I would probably top it up, but otherwise this is the first time in awhile I haven't felt the compulsion to constantly plug in my phone when I get a chance for fear it will die on me. I also hope that this will only improve as development picks up and people release optimized ROMs/Kernels.
Can someone with good battery life compare this to what they get?

Overall I'm really satisfied with the battery. after a night and day of heavy use, games, browsing, installing apps I'm still at 20%. Hardly any power drained in standby.

Battery has been pretty good for me so far. Seems to be settling in with optimization after a few days. Dropped 0% overnight last night which is awesome.
GSAM Monitor is saying my average is 19 hrs on, 4.5 hours of screen on time usage, 1-2 hours of screen off usage like phone calls, music.
