Hello
Since this morning my Note 3 has died. I went to turn it on and it did not go beyond the initial Samsung boot screen.
I have already tried almost everything:
- Enter in recovery mode and make wipe dalvik and cache
- Enter in recovery mode and make wipe factory reset
- Install a new ROM for Odin
When Odin finishes, he gives me the PASS in green as all correct. I start the phone, enter the initial configuration screens, let me put the language, wifi, Google account but when the automatic configuration of the applications starts, it restarts and loops in trying to boot, but does not pass the Samsung logo.
I tried to install the ROM again, in case there had been any problems during the installation (despite giving the PASS in green), but it does not work.
The only thing I can think of is to put another type of ROM of those in which the option Re-Partition is marked, which I think is more exhaustive, but I'm not clear what kind of ROMs those are.
I would appreciate any help with the ROMs with Re-Partition, or any other suggestion that you could give me, to see if I can resuscitate it.
Are you performing a factory reset after flashing a stock ROM with Odin and before the phone boots the stock ROM for the first time?
but when the automatic configuration of the applications starts, it restarts
Reads as an app or something is the problem .
Thank you very much for your responses. After searching a lot, I found a ROM of 4 files + PIT. After installing it, the phone works correctly.

Hi All,
Need your help. I tried setting up a corporate Exchange Account on my Iconia (rooted, running Honeyvillain 1.05). After set up of the account, I was asked to encrypt the table (policy from the corporate server). I followed the prompts to start the encryption process, entered a password, and then the device rebooted. It then was stuck on the screen with "Android" on it. I waited 30 minutes, and nothing. I forced a restart and then was presented with a green android (with a belt?) and prompting me for my password. After entering the password and hitting "OK" it would then immediately reboot and stop, again, at the screen with the white "Android". I tried wiping and restarting but nothing. I then tried installing a different ROM, but again was prompted for my password. This time (virtuous galaxy rom) it didn't actually restart, but just froze on the screen with the green android robot with the belt looking thing. I've tried running the unbricking process using the update.zip method, but still cannot get past the screen prompting me for my password. Would love your help with this! Am I out of luck?
Thanks,
-T
I use encryption with my tablet, and switched from various stock roms without problems, but I even didn't try with the custom roms, surely it will fail and loose all my data. The only thing I can think for you repair your tablet is to try to flash a stock rom and see if it boots, if not, then you have to erase everything from the tablet. There is a post saying to boot holding the power+vol up keys and then move the lock switch several times on and off, so it deletes everything on the tablet like a hard reset.
After you do that I will recommend stick with the stock rom (rooted if you want, it doesn't disturb the encryption) and encrypt the tablet again, it took quite a time to do it, specially if you have many data in the internal memory.
Hope it helps you.
Hi There,
Thanks for the reply. In the meantime, I actually found some instructions on how to do a factory reset (volume+ and power, then release power, then toggle screen lock twice) and I managed to revive it! I had previously tried installing the update.zip mentioned here: http://androidforums.com/acer-iconia-tab-a500/345419-un-brick-acer-iconia-tab-a500.html, and after a factory reset, the tab booted into this stock EMEA ROM.
UPDATE: Problem solved! Subsequent attempts at Odin flashing succeeded. So...Nevermind!
Hello XDA sages!
I'm an avid Android user and I like to mess around, but I have no genuine technical skills or training and it's now bitten me pretty hard. I just got engaged and I was trying to clean out my phone and gift it to my new mother-in-law...with disastrous consequences. So this is my SOS to this incredible community! (Please note, I have searched many other Note 2 bootloop threads but I've seen nothing describing my situation and their solutions have not helped. Though I do apologize if I've missed something!
My current situation:
* Upon restart, the phone (Note 2 GT-N7100, unlocked) is stuck in a terrible bootloop, where the "Samsung Galaxy NoteII GT-N7100" logo appears for 6 seconds, and is then replaced by the Clockwok mod recovery logo (not recovery mode screen, just the hat+geer+orange arrow logo in the center, with "ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.3" in small letters at the bottom). That logo lasts for about 1 second and then it goes black for 1 second, then repeats with the Samsung logo. And so on.
* Many other threads have suggesting entering recovery mode by holding power + home + volume up. This only causes the Samsung logo to refresh every few seconds (i.e. it eliminates the Clockwork mod logo interlude but does nothing else)
* Down+power+home does stop the loop and change to the custom OS download option screen. Pressing volume up then does enter the "Downloading..." screen with the picture of the green Android. (pressing volume up restarts the phone and the loop begins again).
* I've tried loading a stock firmware package onto the device in this mode with Odin v.3.0.9 (obtained via this post) but it doesn't recognize my device. I'm guessing this is because USB debugging was not turned on before the crash.
How I got here:
* I first rooted and flashed a custom rom several months ago using the Cynogen Mod custom installer. I installed the only "stable" release for the N7100 (here.)
* About 1 month ago I used the Rom Manager app and CWM to flash OmniRom, from a zip file on my external SD card. Just before the crash happened last night, I successfully completed an OTA to the latest OmniRom nightly.
* As mentioned, I was preparing the phone to be gifted to my new mother-in-law, and wanted to clean it out. I started by booting into recovery mode (from the Rom Manager app) and then initiating a factory reset.
* Upon rebooting, I noticed that somehow a bunch of my data was still hiding on the phone. Photos and videos and some songs were mysteriously still present, and the storage analysis in settings showed only about 6 gigs were free out of 16. A subsequent Factory Reset did nothing to change this. (All other aspects appeared to be working perfectly, however, as far as returning to a clean install of a fresh copy of OmniRom Android 4.4.2 -- no account data was preset, all my apps were gone and all the stock apps were in the default folders, etc.)
* I booted into Recovery Mode and initiated a "Media Data wipe" (I think that's what it was called) in an attempt to clear out the stubborn media files that weren't being erased.
* I then initiated a "data wipe" (which appeared to just be one level of storage hierarchy above the media data wipe I had just completed).
* I'm pretty sure I also separately initiated a "cache wipe". (But not a "Dalvik Cache" wipe that I have seen referenced on other threads, as I don't believe I saw a reference to that within the recovery mode interface).
* After these wipes I restarted, and all appeared to be fine. The stubborn media data was wiped clean. Finally, after logging back into my Google account to use the App Store to download Rom Manager one last time, (and I honestly can't quite remember why I needed to that) I wanted to complete the process with one more factory reset to eliminate my account data before handing over the phone. This time, I initiated the reset from within the settings menu of the phone in normal operational mode. (This was the first of the various factory wipes I've mentioned that I initiated this way -- all the other factory resets were initiated from within recovery mode).
* I think this is when the current loop started. But to be embarrassingly honest, I had the phone face down and didn't look at it after initiating that final factory restart until I subsequently popped out the battery in order to remove the SIM card. I think the factory reset was complete by that time, but I'm not sure. (In other words, I might have interrupted the factory reset by removing the battery before it was complete).
* After that point this evil loop began.
* To my amateurish eye, the two leading contenders for how I did this are a) the "media wipe" or "data wipe" which I completed before the penultimate restart (although the phone did boot and operate just fine after those were completed, or b) the final factory reset which I may have interrupted by removing the battery.
Three other notes which may or may not be relevant:
* Every time I did a factory reset or data wipe and then went to restart the phone from within the recovery mode, a warning screen came on saying that something might have messed up root access and asked me if I wanted to fix. I always said that I did,
* I had selected TWRP recovery in the Rom Manager app on the advice of the Omnirom site, and I think I saw a reference to TWRP on the recovery mode screen, but I had previously installed ClockWorkMod Recovery and thought maybe that was still active in a way it shouldn't be. (I can't remember what those indications were exactly, but I think it might have just been seeing the logo in the recovery page). But the presence of the ClockWorkMod Recovery logo in my evil boot loop makes me think this may be relevant.
* Before my first factory reset I had made a full backup copy of the current Rom (omnirom) onto my external SD card, which is still in the phone.
I would be eternally grateful for any help, tips, references or suggestions! My fate is in your hands!!
Many thanks,
- Your overeager n00b
Try simple things first. Reinstall kies so you know drivers isnt corupted and then flash stock rom with odin. And also try to switch usb cable and if that doesnt work switch to another pc. Try that and well go on.
Edit: i see you solved it gj.
Do not touch somebody else's phone if they are going to kill you when something goes bad
Next time better think twice

Nice to hear you solved it You flashed stock, i guess?
By the way, I recommend changing the tag to [SOLVED] :good:
Hello..!!
I need some help here. I tried to flash a custom ROM (X-Note (build 6.0) for Galaxy S5 GM900F) and then flash a new bootloader, the problem is that my device will never pass the booting process. I was stuck with the logo and black screen. I have searched and tried tons of tutorials and fixes but have not solved it.
I even tried to wipe Dalvik cache, wipe data, format system. I even put out the battery and leave it for sometimes, then on but the problem is still there.
This link to bootloader that I downloaded and flashed using Odin (after successfully installing custom ROM) and also the instructions that I followed to install the custom ROM.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23622183712475277
When I try to re-install stock Samsung via Odin, it shows a Fail message. I don't know where to go from here and I'm really worry that my phone will never come to work.
Please help me to solve it.

I'm too busy today to describe this in detail.. but here are a few comments that may help you.
First, it is fixable. Usually it's enough to boot to recovery mode (phone off, then press and hold home + volume up + power buttons). Then from the recovery mode menu, choose wipe system cache. Then reboot. If you still have an issue then try a system data format from the Settings menu (this will erase user files!).
And as a last resort, restore a backup (if you have one) or a full, stock firmware image with Odin or Heimdall. Odin is infamous for being a bit picky, so don't panic if you get a failed message. That happens to all of us. Look for a detailed Odin tutorial or how to flash back to stock firmware thread that has Odin tips e.g. use a different USB cable + USB port. Temporarily turn off anti virus on your PC.. If the Odin write fails, do not close the Odin window. Just pull the battery and USB cable from your phone again.. put the battery back.. go back to download mode (home + volume down + power), plug the USB cable back, then press the start button in Odin again. It's important that the Odin window was open the whole time.
It may take a few tries (Odin can be frustrating) but you'll succeed.

Thanks for your words, you give me some hope because I thought my phone is now useless. I'll try again as you said.
Hi all!
Here is a little problem that i didn't solved.
i have a N910F Note 4 that likes to boot loop . I received it as it is and don't know what caused it(i suppose that was a rooting issue because had the knox value 1)
During the all time, PC and MAC were unable to recognize the Note 4, despite of repeatedly reinstalled drivers(older and newer versions) , Keys and Smart Switch were unable to recognize the device, PC is failing to install the MTP driver for some reason. I changed the USB ports, restarted, updated drivers, updated windows etc. -NO RESULT. BUT : Somehow Keys is able to run recovery and initialization and install it on the device while saying Connecting device... , phone also doesn't appear in device manager or file explorer as external drive.NOTHING! Odin and Jodin says ''added!'' and starts the job with no comments
1. I tried different versions of boot loaders with different versions of ROM (all for my specific model) with no result.
The end of the boot is when Samsung logo ,sound and graphic appears but freezes before actually starting OS, then restarts. IT keeps restarting until battery goes off(even while connected to pc by usb!!! ). Then starts to charge the battery normally.
It boots in recovery and download mode with no problems, it did every time i flashed it…
2. I tried different versions of boot loaders with stock roms , custom kernels etc...and the problem was the same
3. I tried to flash with Odin the stock 4.4.4 without problems but….the problem was the same
4.I tried Device recovery and initialization with Keys and here something interesting happened:
First time when i did it, it went over the samsung logo and booted. I selected language,i skipped wifi network selection and i accepted the user agreement. No matter how fast i was moving, the boot loop didn't went over the user name selection which is after the user agreement. Then freeze and boot again.
Second time when recovered with Keys (tried more stuff in the mean time) it went over the logo and started to update like…''updating applications 2of 17'' the max reach point was ''3 apps of 17'' and then freeze and reboot
I am out of ideas so i suspect that the battery might be dead because it gets empty even if is charging while phone is ''boot looping''. I ordered a battery, should arrive soon.
If that don't work…i am gonna spend some cash and sent it to Samsung for repairs (i bet that it won't be cheap because they will probably tell me that is the motherboard fried so they make you pay for being a bad boy and tried to root). Far as i know is not a brick as long as download mode and recovery works just fine.
Is here someone that has any new ideas for bringing this phone to life? Any help is well received , maybe i skipped something….
Thank you in advance.
Boot into recovery and perform a factory reset, it will wipe the internal storage.

Uninstall Kies, and install Samsung USB drivers: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347849220
Take the battery out, leave it for approximately 10 seconds, enter the battery back in.
Hold volume down key + Home key and power on the device.
Then plug the mobile phone into the computer.
Run Odin as Admin: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347851815
Then flash the firmware in the AP section.
Make sure that the firmware is for your region, you can download it from Sammobile or SamFirm.
i have the same problem, but mine doesn't let the samsung logo finish when it shows the letter S on samsung logo it goes restart again no sound or anything, recovery is accesible, download mode is also accessible, i can flash official firmware and factory reset but nothing change, still stuck in bootloop no one here in xda knows how to fix it i think.. or they just never encounter something like this
i know how to fix an ordinary bootloops or soft bricked.. but this one is different.. i think there's something with note 4 that causes this..

Yes, it doesn't go after the Samsung graphics , mine does sound. Goes to app updates only after Kies recovery but doesn't go more far than updating apps 3/17 for ex…crushes there and starts over….weird.
One time i managed to actually go to setup menu, choose country, wifi, device name, and there crushed and started over…. So i am thinking now that the battery might be wasted because i saw posts saying that after the 5.0.1 update many Note 4's went to boot loop and the battery change solved the problem. Now i have new battery coming by post.
Hi I had a similar problem but I do not know if that works but always worth a try
1. download recovery - "twrp-2.8.1.0-trltexx"(.tar) cant post link fresh in forum
2. flash recovery through Odin (AP) ( run as administrator)
3. unplug the cable
4. Reboot to Recovery (home+power+wolume up)
5. Then go to Wipe/Advanced Wipe/check the boxes - Dalvik Cache,System,Data,Cache and Swipe to Wipe
6. Reboot to Download Mode
7. Open Odin ( run as administrator) choise the rom to flash
8 Connect the phone
7. Flash Your Stock Rom
8. Reboot
always in Odin load the file first to flash and then connect the phone
sorry for my English

nah it doesnt work thats the first thing I do, that only work on ordinary bootloop
I was stuck in a boot loop the other day trying to flash a stock ROM to get rid of encryption. I tried all the stuff mentioned in this thread which is just standard procedure but I couldn't get past the samsung logo. What it turned out to be was that you need to go to stock recovery after flashing the stock ROM via odin and do a factory data reset then it will boot to the OS. It worked in my case, maybe you can give it a try.

if you read the above post you will know that we already wipe and factory reset,
btw since i was not able to fix it, it brought it to samsung service center and they also cant fix it so they are changing the motherboard, so far they are not charging me anything and just asking to bring my receipt of purchase so it will be under warranty

I read the post; however, it did not appear as though you did a factory reset after flashing the stock ROM only before. At any rate at least you're getting a new mobo out of it and problem solved.

yes thats the good thing and its under warranty even though im already rooted, with knox 01 and custom binary haha, i was already expecting to pay a huge amount of money but they said they will cover it, so its a blessing, but i hope the OP fixed his problem.
I have a I9505 (Galaxy S4) and after a week I rooted (with CFautoroot) my device rebooted alone and after that I could not get past the logo screen.
I could get to recovery screen but after I deleted the cache (only) I never could get back to recovery screen =/
I tried 3 different firmwares, recovery tools, etc and it didnt make a difference...
I can:
- enter download mode;
- use odin (install roms, pit, etc with no errors);
I cant:
- enter recovery mode (stuck at screen showing "recovery booting" blue text at top and logo).. neither can't go to twrp recovery.. it keeps stuck the same way
one observation is that if I turn off my phone, it actually reboots instead of shutting off. To shut off I need to pull off the battery.
And if I plug my phone on the charge, it shows the battery icon on screen but greyed out with a lightning inside.. not changing to the charging animation
I tried many installations: latest stock rom (jan/2017) downloaded directly from samsung servers (using samfirm, which by the way I completely recommend) with pit (and without it).... tried with CF autoroot.. tried with twrp.. but with no change... I can never get past logo screen =(
I think theres still something installed that could be affecting my phone, is that possible? The question is: when I install pit + rom, it removes everything?
I dont mind losing all my data, so if there's anything that I could do to restore my phone to 'original' state I would do it.
Try this:
open Odin 3.07 and uncheck everything except f reset time;
flash the phone without a pit file;
when you see the word "RESET" in the status window, remove USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, replace the battery, use buttons to boot into recovery;
wipe cache, wipe data, reboot.

Thank you for the response audit13
I did as you told with odin 3.07 (I was using 3.11) and recovery didn't open
Its stuck with recovery booting at top screen for ~5min now.. =/
Is the model # gt-i9505 in download mode?
I did everything ok with no errors (steps 1,2,3) and ONLY AFTER that, the recovery didn't open.
And it's stuck with 'recovery booting' text at top screen until now...
obs.: I think the way I explained it seemed I didn't went on download mode but I did =)
I have a similar issue like this. for my shve330l i updated to the latest update via ota. and then flash rr rom onto the phone without issue. used it for a few days, but mobile network wasn't working that well. it wipe the clavik and cache and that's when all hell broke lose with it constantly rebooting and having the blue text with recovery booting load and it's been stuck like that for a while now. flashed the stock roms to no help with the same result.
